TWO YEARS ALONE in the WILDERNESS // Building an OFF GRID Yurt - DOG TRAINING for BEARS - Ep. 117 Jake and Nicole are building a second Yurt at Komorebi their wilderness property in the coastal mountains of Vancouver Island, Canada. Jake and Nicole have been living in a 30' diameter yurt for nearly two years and now are building a 16' diameter yurt from Follow Jake and Nicole's journey as we finish this 16 foot yurt which features a lattice wall and center dome ring made of bamboo. This yurt is a tiny home that will be the residence of the Komorebi manager should Jake and Nicole ever step away from Komorebi or should they need extra help with projects. Having a property manager and helping hand living on site at Komorebi is tough at this remote location because Komorebi is boat access only and very remote. This means extra firewood, supplies, food, and social dynamics that come with having an extra person living at the property

It's a well-made video. But where did they get the awesome hearing protection muffs and the Stihl Chainsaw and the gas and oil (that all had to be refined) that goes in it (and keeps having to go in it) and on and on and on. So let's just call this -semi-off grid- shall we.

one could argue how much -off grid- you really are, uploading this, having industrially made clothes and boots, fireplace and such not handmade, what would those be without the grid? or are you refering only to non-electric?

Imagine alone 2 years alone? Wow! 2 dogs 2 cats and a man! I guess you mean 2 years alone away from civilization in the woods with your family! Loved it! Love the cats fighting and dog just chilling awesome

Yeah, been doing same in East TN>
Chainsaw is indispensible.
But I got on with broadaxe and adze. It reduceces fuel and lubricaant requirements.
Post and beam, always!

do you guys not feel shitty using Nicoles body in your thumbnails to get more views? Somehow it seems sad that two otherwise very genuine content creators still have to do this.

I always wonder. While living off grid do you ever hear unexplained noises in the woods. As in big foot sightings or calls? Werewolves and that sort of thing?

I lived in a frame house it's similar and the shape is totally different but the room is limited kind of like what you've got love the show keep it up

You guys are so awesome! It is a dream for me to do this. What kind of inflatable boat is that? Do we need licence for that type of boat?

Hello. I want to learn more about the fans on the stove. I have the same oven and there is not enough hot air circulation. Thanks.
