I live on rain water. Off a corrugated sheet roof into a 25, 000 litre tank. Pumped directly to all points in the house. No treatment required. Very, very clean water. And the roof gets covered in dust and bird crap. It all settles out in the tank. Any health concerns over drinking rainwater are unheard of. But! purified water is not good for you. Distilled water will kill you. Surely the atmosphere where you are is fairly clean. Most of Australia, outside cities and towns, survive on rainwater, (supplemented with borewater in the dry in some parts) and no filtering goes on. Anyway, we all need to ingest bugs of all sorts to maintain a robust immune system. Nah, you don't need those fancy filters. But, Nicole could use the water if she takes up marbling. Or some other industrial (inc. cottage) process requiring pure water. Lead acid batteries.

I remember about 30 years ago I had a friend who live on a lake who had a incineratating toilet. I thought it was amazing. The tech has been around for a long time but unfortunately it takes people that long to accept something that different. My great grandparents were Finnish and they were very reluctant for years to build a inside bathroom on their homestead because they thought doing your business inside your home and bathing inside was unsanitary. It took years to convince them it was clean enough that they didn’t have to have an outhouse and a outside sauna and rainwater tub to clean themselves in. They raised 11 clean children using outhouses and outside saunas on their homestead before they succumbed to inside bathroom sometime in the 50’s.

Could Fox possibly get any cuter He is such an eager helper and a sponge, soaking in all the knowledge you guys share. I love seeing his brain process the learning and apply principles from one thing to another. It seems like there has been an explosion of development on this land in the past few months. So much hard work and love poured into your future life sanctuary. I love getting this glimpse into your amazing family. Thanks as always for sharing your lives.

Electric vehicles produce about twice as much pollution before they hit the road and with normal diving charging it only with solar it would take 10yrs before the ICE powered car would produce as much pollution as the EV did just being produced. Now if you only used power grid electric the EV will never be as clean as a dirty ICE powered vehicle. And we won’t even talk about the strip mining for EVs

THIS IS A JOKE IN EVERY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT. USING ALL KINDS OF ELECTRIC THAT TO GET BATTERIES TO EVEN PROPANE is not thinking things out and lack common sence. if you want to be earth friendly then use regular compost toilet. all that electric on solar panels is on par to one who will use kid floaties to cross the ocean. libt/a/r/d/s in full operation

Have you looked into a peeler mill The next iteration of the incineration toilet should use pyrolysis instead of incineration, capturing the off-gassing and waste heat for cogeneration of electricity instead of just venting it into the atmosphere. The biochar that is created will of course go into the compost pile or directly into the garden.

I had a stint at living off grid back in the 60’s in Northern California. It was called theback to the land movement then. You have so many tools available to you that we didn’t have. It makes your experience look pretty easy peasy by comparison! Enjoy your videos and all you do. Thanks for the very entertaining vlogs
