Massive Leaker Exposed, Kristen Bell Disney Princess Problems, USA Gymnastics Controversy, & More Aymen Hussain: I find it absolutely ridiculous that parents overanalyze Disney movies for creating a false narrative as to how young girls should be like, it's a fictional cartoon movie for crying out loud Why not teach your daughters that these stories are made up and that they can be whoever they want to be whether it resembles the princesses or not. Also we have to take into account that many of the older Disney processes like Snow White and Aurora were created a very long time ago in a time where women were typically portrayed as the damsel in distress/waiting for a prince not because they were trying to push the idea that women can only have value when a man steps into their lives but because that was just the gender norm of that time. Now that the times have changed we can evidently see stronger female princesses so show your daughters those movies and stop overanalyzing every little thing. It's weird cuz you don't see dads blaming Hercules or Shang from Mulan for portraying a false narrative of masculinity for their young sons, it's just mothers who seem to find an issue with these movies.

I want to remind people because everyone seems to forget that Halloween was originally an holiday where people dressed up as evil things to MOCK those things. HAHA, look at me. I'm not scared of you Thus, when people dress up as these evil people they are essentially making fun of them. It's not always about dressing up as things you idolize. AKA Captain America, etc. I'm more than sure people don't dress up as ghosts or frankenstein's monster because they idolize or look up to them in anyway. It's to make fun and have fun and THAT'S IT. Whoever is ever mad at a costume forgets these things and needs to come back to reality and stop being fragile little snowflakes. Thank you for your time.

Those cartoons were made in a different era that had different values. When those films were created they were created for that time periods tastes which have slowly changed with time. Instead of wanting to censor it, why can't we use it as a time capsule? It shows just how far we've come as a society. From 1938's Snow White to 2012's Merida from Brave. We went from women that were completely dependent on a man (what society wanted to see at the time) to women who can save themselves (what we value now. Don't hate on these old films; learn from them and be grateful that we've made so much progress.

There are two ways to view The Little Mermaid. Either a) She gave up her voice, her one talent that made her father proud of her etc, for legs. Or b) This was a girl who felt so sure that she was meant for something else, a different life, that she did whatever she needed to in order to be happy as herself. She was interested in humans and their world for a long time before she saw Eric. He might have been the catalyst, but I see her story as a stronger case of finding your own identity and finding your true self over doing something for a man.

I think not allowing your daughter to watch certain Disney films is a bit silly. Her reasoning does sound solid but idk at the same time just let your daughter watch the Little Mermaid and Cinderella its not a big deal. you can still raise strong independent feminist daughters that also like Snow White. Also on a side note Ariel was very obsessed with the human world prior to seeing the Prince. I never thought that she gave up her voice for just a boy but to be part of their world but thats just my take on it.

The whole point of a Halloween costume is to be scary or horrifying, isn't it? Disney thing. On one hand, part of it is just the different way of looking at things from the time, but on the other hand, Snow White was portrayed to have been naive, and that's part of the lesson of the film is to not just take things from people you don't know. As for Ariel, she wasn't giving her voice up just for the purpose of getting with the guy, she desperately wanted to know more about the world outside of the ocean.

When it comes to the Nazi costume, see both sides. Yes it's just a costume like any other out there and people do get too sensitive about things. At the same time, there are still people who where in the concentration camps and their families alive and this can easily trigger them and bring up really horrific memories that they have tried to over come; this is what makes it in-sensitive to where something like that and shouldn't be worn.

Oh my goodness their fairy tales that were made like thousands of years ago or something close to that. Get over it, if you watch the damn movie you would know that Cinderella is a hard working girl that cares for animals, has to live with the bull crap of her horrible mother and stepsisters and Snow White helping out the Nomes and such and just a good pure person over all. There is more too it than a girl waits for a man okay.

Neither kid or mother is wrong. if people are offended they should stay home and get off the internet. Older people have dressed up that way before because they're so interested in history or even on Halloween like they said because hes a real villain in our history. It doesn't mean you should agree with it but, dont bash them as long as they arent doing it to be racist or celebrate what Hitler did. Intent is the key.
