Honestly, anyone who is trying to dig into the Maryland football story now, it's not even worth it. For people that have been following the entire situation, you need to have read the full report from the independent commission to realize that the word toxic was deemed to be too extreme to describe the program based on the definition. However, they did acknowledge the problems that were going on with the program. The entire situation has been handled poorly by the school and the Board of Regents. Loh wanted to fire Durkin straight up, but feared that he could be in jeopardy by the BoR for doing that though that was clearly the correct step to take. McNair's death was due to a lack of water and failure by the coaching staff present to treat him properly by calling paramedics immediately and giving him cold water treatment. Durkin, while not directly responsible for his death, was the man in charge at the time and therefore, he should've been fired outright. There is a problem with strength and conditioning coaches across the country, but since a player died at Maryland, they get the national spotlight on them, but it shouldn't ever taken a death for change to happen. All of this is crazy and it's far from over for now. There's just so much to everything. It's a polarizing situation that got much worse than it ever should have.

The google problems sounds like they need a new hire. Personally I'd advise one of the officers or senior NCOs/Sergeants who got booted from the U. S. military as whistle blowers. One of the guys who, even knowing it would cost them their career and everything they had spent their lives building, stood their ground and refused to back down or abandon their people. Seeing to it victims under their command got the help and treatment they needed and did their best to make sure the perpetrators got punished. They need to find and hire one of those then task them to build their own, independent team that can travel at will randomly showing up at any and all google facilities around the world. Who can randomly walk into break/lunch rooms and ask employees how things are going, show up at conventions and basically anywhere google operations of any kind are taking place. With the authority to investigate any department and ANY member of the staff and make recommendations straight to the top as well as being able to protect and shield those normally afraid to say anything. That, that would show they were truly interested in fixing this.

regarding the Google issue, why are people shocked and surprised that an enormous corporation only cares about the bottom line? This is the world we have lived in since the beginning. No company actually CARES about you, its employees or its consumers. Any campaign that makes it seem like they want to take care of you is just to trick you into spending more money. It's always about money, always. That's the big secret we learn when we become adults. Nobody gives a shit about you. They just want your time and money. And these days, your eyes on their ads.

Phil, for a while now I think the news picked for the show are pretty plain, no real stories or substance. The topics have changed so much and I don't think many people are interested in them lately. You're going for soft news that feel generic and follow the type of news any other news broadcast would give. Also the pace of the videos is way to fast, its just you explaining a story from your point of view with too much information crammed in. It just feels like you're following a formula for every video.

This feels like strike 3 for Google. 1st if swaying search results during the last presidential elections towards Hilary. Second is working with China. Third is this wall out. What happened to honest true platforms. Whe did truth and independent thought become comparable. Google was my go to because I thought the focused on the truth, good or bad. They used to be my beacon of what the internet should be and now they have become just another biased POS.

Hello, Phil I'm petty, so this probably matters more to me than it does to others, BUT as a college student at a different University of Maryland school, the college you're referring to is actually University of Maryland College Park. They just like to call themselves THE University of Maryland, when they're only one of four schools with the title University of Maryland in their name. Just sayin', because I thought you and your team should know.

I am see a pattern of the same thing over and over. why is it that we have a age that considers you an adult when clearly women cant be responsible for adult decisions. If women that agree to do something can say they were not responsible for the actions why does it apply that the men are responsible for it. if that is the case then women should not get the same benefits as men do because they do not carry the same responsibilities.

If it took a new York time piece to show the workers the problem then how much of a problem is there? The last place I worked had a problem and it was covered the same way quitely with closed doors and contracts that have silence clauses and nothing is actually done and it is a major company also with same problems and whenever someone brings it to the light they find a way to get rid of them too.

The internet is being tamed. It's no longer the wild west that it once was. Corporate mentality and strategies are taking over every major site. Google, YT, FB have been that way for a while, but they keep moving in that direction. Reddit is pretty much dead at this point. They are becoming more watered down and neutered every day. It's over, fellas. It was a good run. back to the real world
