Smosh & DEFY Media's Controversial Shutdown, Where Is The Money, & What The 2018 Midterms Showed Us AnjumSings: I don't like to affiliate myself officially with a political party because I think the two-party system is the devil. But I'm a young girl living in NYC, so you can guess that I'm pretty damn liberal. I'm thrilled that we took the house just so that we have some checks and balances again, but I'm not feeling confident or even particularly good. Because--loath as I am to say it--Trump is right. Now anything that goes wrong, he'll spin against us. Somehow, some conservative media and politicians blamed the liberals for things that happened or, more often, didn't happen in the last two years even though we didn't have power anywhere. And we remember the vitriol congress was hit with in the gridlocked days of Obama. I mean, that sucked. So Trump is going to rile people up against us and the House even more than before, and that could end up being good for Republicans and his reelection bid. I'm super afraid of that. And then things just went so terribly in the Senate Now that it's even more in the conservative's favor, it's going to be so much harder to flip in the years to come. And we lost some really disheartening governor races, so that's a bummer. So, tl; dr: I'm optimistic, really, but still super, duper scared.

Scott Walker has been governor for almost a third of my life and has wreaked havoc on this state. I am so happy to see him out of office that I was almost in tears when the race was called at 1: 30am the day after election day. His Foxconn Deal is costing taxpayers over 3 billion dollars, and isn't even going to end up providing many jobs at all. According to the CEO of Foxconn, what was going to originally be 13k jobs with 75% assembly line workers and 25% engineers, is now going to be much fewer jobs and 90% engineers and 10% assembly line workers. The total cost we are paying as a state per job opening is over 300, 000. Then Tony Evers gets elected and Republicans are freaking out saying that their taxes are going to go up. Do they not realize that the Foxconn deal from their beloved Scott Walker is costing them 1800 per household? It just blows my mind. But sure, be mad about having someone in office who wants to make GOOD changes for the school system, unions, etc etc.

i am truly frustrated with what Trump has done to congress. most of ALL Americans, do not care, about his issues, and know there is no laws being offered to resolve those issues. yet he still gets a lot of support for being the wrecking ball, when he is really the screaming child in the store. there is this one little known thing: The Black Government. no not Obama, it a military law allowing a military council to take over when congress is not able or willing to do it's job. an i feel be are approaching the need for this. considering the doomsday clock in regard to world war 3, climate change, Yellowstone national park SUPER VOLCANO that could destroy HALF THE COUNTRY, and more. there is work, REAL work that needs to be done.

I've always been moderate left, but I feel like I've kinda swayed right a bit after the last election, and with the hysterics coming from the left. With things like Antifa storming Tucker Carlson's house at the extremes, or some Facebook friends blocking me after I simply try to debate their arguments at the shallow end, I can't really say I'm all for the liberal agenda anymore. I feel like a lot of other moderates do, neither side represents me well, but one side is at least putting forth a case, and not just screaming at me that I'm a racist homophobe.

I am disturbed as to the midterms. Less for the results, but for the reactions. Trump openly saying he will blame the dems if they don't work with him, but not really saying anything about HIM trying to give a little. The amount of hate I have seen on both sides. The attitude of being more worried about your side winning than if the right policies and people won. I am scared for this country, the division and hate is very strong right now

Quick midterm thoughts because I really don't care much: I think it's right for Trump to say he still won cause now he has the House as a scapegoat for political plans going south. He can just point to them and say they don't want me to get anything done and having a BIGGER Senate majority than before will go along with it. I mean, last I checked, Obama loved blaming a split Congress for stalled activity. (Reminder: Liberal over here)

It's really hurts me that some exceptional youtubers and those under DEFY were exploited regarding THEIR rightful money. Also based of Anthony Padilla words, the fact that they were manipulated by DEFY to sell their brand for stocks. It's infuriates me because Smosh was doing so well before DEFY got involved. I hope they become independent from DEFY and for them to open and law suits if there is any infringement. I really wish the best to them

To be honest Im just kinda upset but its because I feel like so many people are being so rude and aggressive after the midterms. Like I knkw politics are important but not enough to want to lose your friends bc of it and so many people have now looked at me differently bc of my views and its kinda sad lol. Like I dont agree with a lot bc that doesnt make me hate you and it seems like that isnt the case anymore

I think celebrity endorsements can be effective, more specifically for young people. One thing I think Phil missed out was the spike of young voters (18-24. I think part of that is celebrity and YouTube endorsements. In a world of political apathy, I think having people you love or respect, taking a stance can be powerful - and can encourage you to do something.

You forgot to mention that Massachusetts had a human rights question regarding trans people and it passed As a trans person, myself, its nice to see that people actually give a shit about about the people forced resideuntil they eventually diein the shadows. Anyways, Im just happy to see some human decency after the anti-lgbt memo from a few weeks ago.
