Great content, PhillyD. Well done to you and your team. I really appreciate coverage of these issues worldwide. The fate of others in the world is very important to us and should be important. As MLK said, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. And throughout the continent of Africa, countries' resources have been exploited and stripped by corrupt behavior from the US State Department, governments worldwide (locally in Africa, and by multinational mining operations. These activities put obscene amounts of money into the hands of psychopaths, essentially, and it leaves human beings in Africa with their resources stripped and their worlds turned upside down. Add to this the issue of violence as people grapple to get their hands on the wealth. It's just a mess. All of us in the world need to know about this so we can be responsible citizens and consumers and exercise our collective voices and buying power in the world to help these people and promote justice for them and eliminate the corrupt misuse of resources and the violence that arises as a result.

As a Belgian I can safely say that we all wish the past had never happened. We are taught about the horrors our past king and government committed in school. It's a big part of our modern anti-racist, anti-colonial mentality. I hope one day the Americans will also teach their kids about all the international shenanigans their government has been up to over the past century, so maybe future u. s. citizens will understand that being the world police is a really bad idea. Coming to the rescue is exactly what the old imperial european powers convinced their white citizens they were doing in Africa

There goes that 8 000 000 deaths number again. The number has been proven to be a false estimation. The first ever population census in the country was made by a Belgian general who estimated the amount of inhabitants by traveling on the Congo River and making a gross estimation based on what he saw on both banks. So even if Belgium killed many in Congo, 8M has been disproved by the international historian community for over a decade now. Should be more thorough with your critical history fact checking. Other than that great video.

Let's not pretend the Congo is any different than any country in the world: The top echelon of wealth run the shit show and everybody does their bidding, which is usually making them as rich as possible. The only difference between the Congo and the US is in the US they put on a big show to give people the illusion that they're in control, while in the Congo they're not quite as sophisticated in their scamming of the people, so it's a little more obvious. Of course this guy is a puppet, that's the way it always is.

This is the first time Im ever hearing about this and this is a serious issue. This is one of my biggest problems with news reporting in the US. All they do is basically report about politics, even when there are major conflicts going on in other parts of the world. My sister visited Canada recently and she said that what surprised her the most was that they reported about multiple things happening all over the world. I want to be up to date about whats going on in the world, not just politics in America.

Phil Thank you so much for shedding light on my country I don't know if it's because you saw the comment I left on the Venezuela situation video posted the other day where I asked if you cover cover D. R. Congo, but I'm still extremely grateful for this. Congo plays a role in probably the majority of the world and it's only fair if people at least knew what we're going through. I'm still hopeful Congo will take off Keep being a boss, Phil

This was a great news show I really love the extra news shows and how you have brought in the people who know whats up. It's insane how many countries seem to have leaders that are more of a dictator then a leader. We as a people have let people of little moral grounds run our worlds and destroy our counties. I hope this is just a trend of the times. I am worried about China, Venezuela and many other places with very similar issues.

Irregulaities dyring elections exist everywhere. People in the US in the state of Georgia never got to vote properly. Did Congolese made a big deal out of it? Nope we didnt care because it wasnt our country. But what do you care about my country? The main reason why the weetern media were agaisnt Joseph Kabila is because his government decided to fund 100% of the elections process and that enraged all of you. Thats the real reason.
