Why People Are Freaking Out About Margot Robbie, #BloombergIsRacist Audio, Roger Stone, & More Adrien: Birds of Prey made a shitty opening because people either see it as a sequel to Suicide Squad (which was bad, why would anyone want a sequel to that) or don't know what it's about because little to no marketing. Joker made a name for itself because everyone freaked out about how incels would be gunning down the cinemas and other stuff like that, but everyone went to see it because it has a message, mostly that the whole world now is based on fakes and nobody influent seems to care about reality anymore. And mainstream media missed the cue and made it even more famous. Wonder Woman was a movie with a message too, and the main character's strength isn't having a vagina. It's almost like. Well like scenarist wrote a character instead of a political agenda. Even Marvel's Girl Power scenes are cringy. Everyone remembers the Endgame's Girl Power scene. And it sucked balls. Just like the whole Captain Marvel movie was cringy, but since it's part of the whole MCU, you kinda need to see it too for the full story. Birds of prey is none of these. It's not part of a loved franchise, it doesn't have a message beyond girl power, and it doesn't have a marketing. And it crashed. No shit sherlock.

Birds of prey is failing and will continue failing because once again they sacrifice plot and character development in detriment of a political message. The main villain in the movie is a misogynistic asshole with zero nuance, I mean he feels more like a cartoon villain. The way these type of movies work is that villain needs to be on par with the hero. Just look at The Dark Knight or at Avengers (not Ultron, that was terrible. The villains need to be a perfect counter part to the hero, they need to make you pause and think. I mean, another example, think of Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter is a terrible person however you would be lying if you said that you weren't seduced by him, and this is what I meant about nuance. If you make your villain to be a clear peace of crap with any type of nuance, your hero(s) won't come across as that but only as someone who is doing what should be done. If there isn't any inner conflict in the viewer, your movie will end up not being interesting at all. They basically made this movie to be women = good, misogyny = bad. And whilst I fully agree that misogyny = bad, I still find myself exhausted of seeing it, why should I watch Birds of Prey when their overall message can be found on every other single piece of entertainment right now? People want to be entertained, they want to see something new and interesting, they want something that captivate's them, that charm's them. And Birds of Prey doesn't do any of these things.

Laws should not be barred from being signed into law, or repealled from law because they could be used in a discriminatory way. If you a worried about a law being used in a discriminatory way, don't ban the law, fix the dam policeThis is something that has always irritated me listening to American culture, racism/stigma getting called out inappropriately, against impartial processes. Think long and hard on this: can the law, not should the law, or was the law, but can the law, be used to search or detain someone of any gender, any race, any socio-economic background? If the answer is yes, then the law is not racist. Was the law used to disproportionately target or affect people of a socio-economic group? If yes, then the ones enforcing that law are probably discriminatory and their policies/practices should be looked into and fixed.

Birds of Prey? I'm ok with a batman movie, and a spin-off of the original bad guys, Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Mr freeze, After the 'move' of Joker, I'd want to seem more of that genre/reasoning for those guys. but this is a spin off of a what? WB cartoon inclusion character? what next? loony toons, donald duck? Corona Virus: My heart goes out to DrWenliangs family and friends, If it were not for him, we might not be even as close as we are to stopping this. play the Plague Inc game to get a feel for how these things, statistically, play out and understand that his without actions this could have been 10x as bad already. Its more realistically 10x as bad but being hidden by govt, so we don't all freak out. Stay away from all travellers and friends of travellers for the forseeable future. Be safe.

Going and seeing it I thought it was good, the only thing I would say that was bad about it was that some of the characters were under developed and the ending was a bit rushed. But in saying that I thought it was still pretty good. I think people not wanting to see it, is mostly to do with how bad suicide squad was, which comparing the two I would leave birds of prey as an unrelated movie because the only trace of suicide squad is the toxic vat scenes and they dont even show Jared Leto as the joker except for one where you only see like the back of his head and is from when they were filming suicide squad. Nothing really connects it to suicide squad and if it does its literally like a 20 second clip that they recycled with no real connection to it.

I think i have seen almost every super hero film that has come out since Flash Gordon bar two; Captain Marvel and Birds of prey. As such I'm not qualified to say that they were bad films however they do follow the current Hollywood trend of female chauvinism and that is something that i cannot support. Even when the genre was almost entirely male dominated there was never any sort of level of male chauvinism anywhere close to the level and regularity we are now seeing from the opposite. TLDR; I don't want to give my money to people who insult me. It is as simple as that. As a side note, take some lines from these films and flip the genders, the internet would implode. If it is unacceptable for one, it should be unacceptable for them all.

For me it was 2 things. 1: Im broke. 2: wb's constant moving of the yardstick regarding the movie. First it was Gotham City Sirens was being made then it turned into the birds of prey which made no sense if your making Harley the main character. Then they doubled down in the marketing showing commercials that was pure Harley with snippets of the other cast. Then like 2 months ago (judging by the ads I saw running) renamed the movie again to its current name which is as you said a mouthful, which is absurd so myself and alot of my friends are like why not just call it Harley? It would make more sense. No wb shot themselves in the foot on multiple occasions regarding this movie.

I was not in a hurry to see it. DC has been disappointing. Margo Robbie is cool, but is this a 3 movie series? Will her and Joaquin be the villains in a Batman move? Probably not, so whats the point of seeing this? Marvel weaves so many storys together and the actors played their characters for so long. Im not an expert but I feel like DC isnt doing what the people want. They better keep Gal Gadough and Ryan Reynolds. Back up the Brinx truck, but not just for them. Anyone they make a movie with should stay as that character. Start making movies with many heros and villains in them. I wanna see new shit. If it has to be original, so be it. Lol

Why did you choose to not see THIS movie? For me it was a couple of factors: 1. Didn't even know the movie was out till a couple of days ago. Combination of non-consumption of commercial TV, as well as ad-blockers for online means I miss a lot of things. 2. As you mentioned, DC's track record with films has me wary of seeing their films on opening week. So even if I had've known it was out, I would usually wait a week or two to find out of it is generally well-received. 3. Lack of money currently due to a recent sickness that had me off of work for 2 weeks. Having to budget right now till I get back to a comfortable level.

I formerly didn't want to watch BOP because one of my favourite dc comic characters Cassandra Cain was butchered so badly, I didn't understand why it was called birds of prey when it was clearly about Harley Quinn which it also had no barbara gordan and the costumes suck in my opinion. I also wasn't a fan of the marketing, it gave suicide squad vibes and of course past DC films haven't always been well. But upon hearing the reviews and opinions, it sounds like a fun film to watch so I actually will probably go watch it, but if it weren't for the positive opinions I've seen and heard, I'd probably wouldnt go to see it.
