Most of us have to work from 9-5, if polling stations are closed at 6 how does that make any sense? We are supposed to have the right to vote. Not the right to vote as long as time permits it based on some arbitrary time an elementary school gym wants you out at. This is classist not racist. And if you want to give me the black people are more likely to be poor, well they're also the poor people with the most amount of time on their hands since they disproportionately make up the unemployed portion of poor people. If you're on welfare, don't have a job, then you have all day to go vote. I don't want to hear complaints from anyone unemployed about this (which is a ton since everything shut down, and make sure you're gone by the time the people who work finally get off and need to vote. Either way I don't blame those people for being mad that they were closed out, there's no reason polling stations can't be open later, 6pm is way too early. And there's no reason the people inside couldn't just take 15 minutes out of their day to get these people's votes in. It is possible. And it's not right when they were standing out there long before closing, that isn't their fault and their rights shouldn't be away because of it. They just keep letting more and more people flood into the country, well don't be surprised when no one can do anything because there are too many people.
But yeah sure just keep stacking more and more people and forcing them to live closer and closer and expect nothing bad to happen.
Until they fix polling station times, unemployed people just make sure you vote during typical work hours so you aren't holding up people who actually do need til the last half hour to get there, that's all. Wait times can be awhile and that's not just in the US, it happens where I am to.
Don't let them trick you into flimsier ways to collect votes, it just makes it easier for them to comprise elections.

Ugggh! Well, at least I say, Thank you for doing a follow-up to the incendiary claims that a Noose was placed in garage of Team 43. But it's _crazy_ to see the vocal supporters of Bubba Wallace frantically back-pedalling to #SpinDoctor the story away from their original claims of a Racist Hate Crime. And to say, 'It's great that the community rallied together, even if there wasn't a hate crime' is outlandish! It's no different to the story of; _The Boy Who Cried, WOLF_! (and no, I'm not likening Bubba to the boy. The story was a Nothing Burger & it shouldn't have been made public UNTIL the investigation had concluded. But the Media Frenzy & those who could benefit from the situation (including the Philip de Franco show) are all equally complicit. #FakeNews
And you wonder why Race Tensions remain at high levels, then try to sweep this event under the rug - or at very least, attempt to minimise the embarrassment it's caused you!

I've been following Yara for years and really value her opinion. I've made many purchases based on her recommendation and I'm usually very happy with them. I would have been happy to support her brand if I had known it was hers and if she has just launched and let other people review It with saying it was hers, I would have really liked that strategy, but she straight up lied to her viewers and that crossed the line. That being said these past few months have been crazy and I totally get not wanting to launch your brand in the middle of a pandemic. My trust in her has definitely decreased, but I'll still follow and support because I honestly don't think she's a bad person, she just made is bad decision in a stressful situation.

I think people are being really unfair to Susan Yara. She very clearly explains her intention in the release and it's easy to see what she was doing in hindsight. She could've very easily just slapped her name on some gimmicky cheap products and made a killing but she didn't. These were hand picked, only a few items that she explains how she formulated each one. She even went so far as to provide educational material with each purchase. People are up in arms about how she released it but aren't focusing on how much work and effort and pride she put into a very cultivated line of products. Which has its own name. She didn't just slap Susan Yara on some cheap already done products. I find the outrage to be disingenuous.

I have been a follower of every influencer involved for years.
There are problematic layers to this situation but the worst to me is that not only did she not disclose her affiliation when talking about the products, she actively pretended to not be affiliated. She pretended she stumbled upon this brand, that they reached out to her and sent PR, AND that they gave her a 25% discount to share with her viewers. In this industry, 25% off a brand is HUGE and especially to give to an influencer to pass along. Even Caroline Hirons touched on this point in her IG live. It's no small feat to get a brand to agree to a personalized discount code for 25% off.

I can not understand how and why they make voting so incredible hard in the US! Here in Germany in my little city of around 30000 people (as far as I know) everyone who can not or doesn't want to vote in person can just vote by mail and we have several big polling stations all over town (for example schools that are extra closed on that day to use the rooms to vote. I'm so lucky that my polling station is in the elementary school that is a 10 minute walk way away from my home, but because we have so many good organised ones I have never seen any traffic jam or people searching for parking to be able to vote!

Being apart of the community who follows and TRUSTS skincare gurus this is very disappointing and deceptive to me. She would have done much better saying it was her brand from the very beginning. She has over a million followers, think about that. Transparency is key in skincare and if she decided that isn t that important/legal. she deserves every criticism and the FTC knocking on her door. Not sure who advised her to do this. but it s a whole ass NO from me. I ve purchased a lot of products skincare gurus recommended but now I m so distrustful, I ll def do so so so much research from now on. Ugh.

On the Yara Susan controversy: it would be great to anonymously release the brand to be able to get real feedback, however when she promoted it anyway, that's where she went illegal in not disclosing she was one of the founders of the brand. I get that promoting a brand with a large social media figure as the owner is tempting because you pull a lot of views and promotion, but straight as that it's illegal. If we look away from this just because her intentions were pure, we'd do the other cases more injustice. I'm sorry but when it comes to legal issues we shouldn't pick and choose.

I don't see what Susan Yara did wrong. Many influencers get paid to give good reviews for shitty products and then peddle them to their followers. Like how many instances have we seen with influencers who launched collaborations with makeup brands get skewered by their followers for promoting repackaged products? I also remember how Jacqueline Hill had to discontinue and refund all her followers because her makeup had mold, hair, and glass in it. All of whom purchased it because it had her name on it. Susan Yara was smart about her approach.
