9: 54, I don't see the use of the motion sensor to heat the building if the building is unoccupied if it's supposed to heat the building before workers get there. However, if it chose what rooms to heat up, and leave the heat off, I can see the use for it. I think the safe bet is heat the building 2 hours before the building is occupied, and when it satisfies, it will see what rooms are occupied, and divert heat to those specific rooms.

Personal computers replaced the usage of hand held programming devices to program the PLC. Every PLC has its own architecture and design mechanism and hence according to it the hardwired elements, modules and components are designed. From one PLC to PLC the design considerations may vary depending on type of manufacturer. As a result othet PLCs may not compatable to one particular task.

In the apples example, wouldn't you need a single plc that deals all of the or statements? Instead of having to buy multiple expensive plcs, for rudimentary or statements. You can do all with a single plc.
You can achieve the same thing with a scanner sending the signal to two coil relays for the or statements in the conveyor belt

Shouldn't they be trying to find another way to control things because of Obama along with Israel releasing the Stuxnet virus in the middle east to stop the Iranian nuclear program? You have the chance of having major systems being attacked by people who know how to use the virus for their evil purposes.

The advantage on the plc during power loss is incorrect. A ups or backup power needs to be used. During power outages the 120vac to the plc power supply will be lost. Fluctuations in the power can corrupt the program. Additionally and devices that require power will be non functioning during power loss.

These are very helpful. We use PLCs in our Hydrogen Dispensers. Because hydrogen can be so volatile, numerous safety measures, boundaries, limits etc, both temperature, speed and pressure related, must all be controlled simultaneously. Only a PLC can do this!

hello Tim thanks for your tutorials they are really helpful, but im having a problem with slc 5/03 sereis cpu run, force, and rs232 leds and batt led is blinking red, dh485 is solid green, im failing to pick the plc on the computer please help me out

4: 03 That luggage delivery system animation seems about right. The only thing missing is a forklift or luggage cart running over the suitcase to properly compact the contents.

i think you dont go from 0 to 100% with 0V and 10V since you are measuring the current 4 mA to 20 mA anyway. So you need at least some voltage to read 4 mA.

My god i cant describe how much i love PLCs. In school i was the only student being enthusiastic about wiring them and programming them ( we used Ladder)
