The mathematical understanding to actually make a powerful electrical motor work that performs work without burning everyone alive is so complex you can't believe it. That is to say, if you're confused by all of this and are asking ok but why this and why that, well there's no way around it. You gotta learn calculus and differential equaitions and hope your brain doesn't fry in the process lol. just wanted to put that out there in case there's someone watching this thinking whoaaaa it's too complicated, I can't do it. Yes you can. But you need math! And remember, math is like working out. Every time you do it, your math brain gets stronger. EVERYONE struggles with math just like everyone struggles with lifting weights at their max limit

The magnetic path consists of laminations as each lamination receives only a small amount of the magnetic flux and this flux produces a voltage in the lamination. The lamination has a very low resistance and even though the induced voltage is very small, because of the very low resistance of the path in the lamination, the current will be very high. If we make the lamination very thin, the resistance of this path is increased considerably and thus the current is reduced to a very small amount. This current only flows when the metal is saturated with magnetic flux. Up to this point the magnetic circuit CONDUCTS the magnetic flux and transfers it to another part of the motor or stores it.

Man, I have been an industrial mechanic for 20 plus years. My weak spot has always been electrical. I have understood the basics for a very long time, but when I have tried to further my understanding, books just haven't done the trick in my simple little mind. Your series on electricity is absolutely amazing. In just a few short hours I have gained a better understanding of the concepts that the books just can't teach me and definitely don't show. The animations you use are the difference and will be the difference in why these facts will remain a permanent fixture in my memory banks for the rest of my life. I don't even know how to say thank you enough. THANK YOU!

This is the first video that introduces completely unknown concepts as assumed knowledge within the Electrical Engineering Basics playlist, and for that reason is quite hard to follow. For example: What IS 3 phase vs single phase in general? That question is somewhat answered in video 26 (this is video 13. Where does the square root of 3 come from in the star configuration line current calculation? Why do the line to line voltages stay constant etc? I am sure there's an obvious explanation, but it has not been explained.

I feel like something important was missed here. The DC motors video made a lot more sense than this video. Here you have three wires going off into the magical atmosphere while the DC motor showed a connection to a battery. Although the DC motor video did go a bit long with the forces push/pull in showing how electromagnetic forces worked and got a little tedious as a result.

in just watching this when he explained how resistence determines anps it was simple all of a sudden if you try to push against some force you are forming a gradient. if you ohm something you will generate a measured gradient called an amp. resistance is inherent in existance. ie. mass thanks for this video

magnetic wires shuffle to coper new product usefull at any machines like machines dynamo that worked by 250-350 volt or more. try the development over all can specified about machines components and cage that into simple video was specified to trace which almost tact for new invention.

If you look at the Star Connection, the animation shows the electrons bump into one another where the Blue phase and the Star Connector meet.
Is this an actual thing that happens in a circuit? What happens when electrons bump into one another like that?

Woo boy, I have been building high performance IC race engines for 20 years +, but never REALLY understood how three phase AC motors work. I built little dc cork motors at school, but still struggle to understand these things. My mind is frying watching this.

I didnt understand the video, simple its magnatic cyrcle, its too hard for me as normal person, to understand it i need a lot of training hours, but as plumber it's important for us to know how to connect the motor and and how it works simply, thank you,

I was a biology major in college and never thought Id be able to wrap my head around engineering topics, but youve nailed it. Unbelievable stuff. Thanks for much for explaining! Keep coming out with amazing content; I will eat it up

I know the comment section is littered either thank you's, but I'm throwing my hat in too.
Thank you so much.
These animations are near perfect and help immensely learn the concept behind the motors.

Great video! Please know that lines of force do not rotate (they do not move) they only point in a certain direction.
N to S
Lines of force only move if they interact with other nearby lines of force.

Does that mean that delta configuration can handle way more powerful engines than star configuration, as the delta configuration has higher line current? I'm not electrical engineer.

Being an eletrician student, I would say it is very informative plus the illustrations help get the idea how the works back and forth. Your videos has been very helpful in these parts few months!

I cant thank you enough for your videos. Please, is there a way to prevent an induction motor being melted due to becoming too hot or being short circuited?

Great information. Connecting the terminal box on top of indication motor.
Either star or delta. Absolutely fantastic information. Star uses less current.

So can we change powering configuration to any AC 3phase motor, from delta to star? Does it means less electricity consumption by star configuration?

Cheap ball bearings are mot suitable for industrial use, but are good for home used machines. The 2Z dust proof is the best for almost all use.

Hi! great video! for a lesser mind, from where do you get 3 in in your calculations, for both star and delta connections?

At 6: 11 shouldn't the closed loop orientation be such that its plane is perpendicular to the magnetic field?
