Mounting the reed switch on the frame with the magnet on the door which is how they are usually installed also simplifies the wiring and avoids the wiring moving everytime the door is moved making it much less likely to have a failure
Inside you could have a simple hidden switch or a keyswitch to disable the alarm before the time limit runs out, and the reverse when setting it and exiting the garage
Wifi connectivity to your home if close enough, or SMS notification to your phone would have been a good next upgrade
For an improved approach I would have suggested a door contact on the door purely for entry time, inside the garage would be the on off switch so once the door opens a person has maybe 15 seconds to figure out how to disable it before it activates, for the volume of the room a dual tech sensor (PIR and Microwave volumetric sensor, a battery back up for the device, and either WIFI or SMS notification so you know the garage is being broken into from anywhere
Someone should NOT be able to completely disable the system from outside as they c an with this approach, they c ould even just move the magnet by accident whilst trying to break in without even knowing there is an alarm in which case it would do absolutely nothing
So activation and deactivation should occur WITHIN the protected area
If you had wifi or SMS notification you would even have the ability to catch them breaking in, as without knowing they had tripped an alarm they would take more time, then if you didnt respond to the signal the sounder could go off after a predetermined time but give you the option to override the siren so they wont even know
you could also make a cheap CCTV system with the USB camera from an old laptop and use a raspberry pi or similar to record footage if that controller doesnt have enough processing power or other required features

Yur system is interesting, but the alarm if in reach would simply be knocked off the wall. Flashing light is a non issue. Especially if they knew you where not home.
The thing that works the best is video cameras. The worse thing for thief is to be identified. They also know video are streamed these days, so they are caught no matter what They could find video system or even burn house down, but the video is still online, out of reach.
Your system is after the fact, also the PLC itself is a nice item to steal. An outside alarm is easily knocked down using a metal pipe or shovel handle. Then say goodbye to your mopefs

Grown men and women riding bicycles with backpacks too. It's always a dead giveaway when they turn up that street.
When I installed my camera system, I put signs up loud and proud. Now when they walk/ride by they cover their faces or walk at distances.

How about this:
Make a two stage dead-man switch for a couple of power outlets.
A) You hit the switch and the outlets turn off.
B) You take your foot off a switch an the outlet turns off. But the lights should stay on.
WasZumNaschen) You disable the alarm with the reed switch and enter the garage and a cd player starts blasting some random queen album at you (My dad used to have this in his workshop. turn on the lights and the music would start, great for soldering, drilling, flexing and hammering)

With Hikvission DVR you will check online any time from any where. There is aap which you should install on your mobile phone form online servelence.
Another idea is that you integrate gsm module with with your system. When ever some one inters this system send your sms or misscall. So that you use your mobile aap to check online how is there.

But You should add cams also. Hikvission cams are cheaper. Two Analog cams of 720 pixels with 20m IR range are enough for this place. 1-DVR With 4 port, PC HDD (Hard disk for storage, 12v addopter for 2 cams, conectors and power cable and coxal cable is required.
But for that system you should remove blinking LED.

If theaf inters your gaurage, posion of alarm will be detected by sond and he will disconnect them in few seconds.
While cams have clear view of 20meters in dark throught night vissions.
