I tested 7 Wago Knock-Offs Wire Connectors so you don't have to! (Surprising Results)
video description
It's always interesting to know how no brand products perform as well (since it's so hard to know beforehand. They are often good, but if you are unlucky you may get some crap. In this case, you also don't want to discover that you got a crap product by it starting a fire, haha.

I think the comment on the previous video about the knock-offs was referring to the connectors on Amazon that are branded Wago (or look very similar with no branding) but when compared to a genuine Wago connector, it is clear they are fake and are made with subpar materials and inconsistent build quality. This happen to me when I bought a set on Amazon. The product page looked legit but when I received them it was clear they were fake with no branding and the metal bridge was really thin and bendable. I ended returning them for a refund.

I still can't wrap my head around why people hate Wagos that much.
Yes, they're slightly more expensive compared to some other connection types and yes, if used properly, other stuff like wire nuts can be just as safe.
But those are not foolproof and if used improperly, they might cause serious issues.
That being said, Wagos are simply foolproof and much more convenient.
Nice video, though.

I really liked the video, very informative! Did you actually get a copy of / verify the certification for the product, because anyone can print the certification logo on its product.
unfortunately I checked it once and the certification appeared to be fake.

It would've been cool to do a Breaking Test to see how far they can theoretically be pushed, how long they lasted, and device failures. I feel this would give viewers a better idea how NOT to use them. Bring out the inner ElectroBoom in you! LOL

Again? Ok once more. A mechanically twisted and nutted splice is a better electrical connection. If folks want to trust stab connections with their home wiring, more power to you. Just don t come crying when the smoke gets out.

The only other test I'd like to see is running high currents through them to see how much they will take. Other than that I do think this is really good information and I use Wago connectors in my house wiring all the time.

The CE marking won't mean an awful lot on those as the spacing between the letters can be made slightly different to the official CE marking which then just stands for Chinese Export, and not what you think it does.

Yeah, I don't think the last comparisn was bad. Maybe not all of the tests where meaningful or perfectly done. But they where real, it showed how non intuitive the wire nuts are and how beginner friendly wagos are.

I'm studying to become an electrician and I feel that this is qwite pointless because the only time a connector should fal of is if someone is puling on it and has done something to mecj it fall of.
