When Poland declared war on Japan with the rest of the allies in World War 2, Japan refused the declaration. It didn't ignore it. It responded saying no, there was no war. And that Poland was wrong to think so. To find out why watch this short and simple animated history documentary. D12TRG: Funny stuff.
Back in Junior High School one day history teacher asked the class what country Poland declared war on during WW2? and I, for being a hardcore weeb I was back then (also for jokes) said Japan.
I don't know who was more suprised - the class or me when the teach confirmed it to be true.
Heh, looks like mutual hatred towards USSR did lead to a weird friendship.

Before I watch, I need to answer: because Japan wasn't obliged to declare war on Poland in 1939. That and the Japanese knew that a formal declaration of war on Poland would suddenly put the British and French on high alert in their Asian colonies, leading to mobilization of colonial troops in French Indochina, British Malaysia, British Singapore, and even the Dutch East Indies. That's the last thing the Japanese wanted--they worked best with surprise attacks. And declaring war on a nation far away from Japan, that posed absolutely no threats to Japanese international interests, was just very silly.

Wasn't there also a Japanese diplomat in Poland and the Baltic nations that gave out Japanese visas willy-nilly? I forget his name, but Israel has made this guy one of their Righteous Among The Nations. The bravery of this one Japanese diplomat rescued tens of thousands of Poles, Latvians and Jews from certain death in the Nazi concentration and death camps. I bet the Japanese government tolerated this wayward diplomat for so long only because he helped Poles for the most part.

Ironic also that the Germans had a close relationship with China; the Reichswehr and Wehrmacht supplied and trained Chinese nationalist forces in the 30's before the Tripartite Pact with Italy and Japan was signed. Many in the Wehrmacht and German foreign ministry still considered China an ally even after the Japanese alliance was signed.

It's funny really, Germany and Nationalist China had really good relations(like germans training the chinese army) which stopped because of the German-Japanese alliance and now i got to find out that Japan and Poland had really good relations which also stopped because of the alliance.

My series on the overrated British Empire proves that all countries wre and are controlled by Templars since Europe conquered the world, but they became masons, always under the Synagogue of Satan. Your PG Disneyesque version of history your lying governments teach you is real cute.

Japan and Poland's ties were so strong that the Bolsheviks signed the treaty of Rapallo and engaged in secret military cooperation with Weimar Germany during the interwar years because they were absolutely terrified that Japan and Poland would encircle and wipe them out.

Poland: We declare war on Japan.
Japan: You don't want to declare war on us.
Poland: We don't want to declare war on you.
Japan: You want to liberate your own country and hate the Soviets.
Poland: I want to liberate my country and I hate Soviets.

What were regular people in europe doing during ww2? Like the ones not fighting? I mean I understand that the people of Germany were helping with the war effort but what about the people of Poland or France? Maybe this is easy answer and I'm not thinking

Alright, now what I'm about to say doesn't really have anything to do with the video, but just imagine of a commie coup happened in interwar Poland and united it with ussr based on these borders.
Bet you that timeline would be interesting.

This relationship goes to before this as well, such as the Japanese saving hundreds of polish orphans and people from Siberia during either the polish Soviet war or communist revolution (I forgot which). As well as a few hundred years ago briefly
reply

Besides Polish pilot Witold Urbanowicz flying with American forces against the Japanese, several years ago I came across information that at least four Polish junior officers were sent as part of the 81st West African Division to Burma.

Damn Dudes. Poland had some of the strangest Allies. I heard that Hungary was a ally as well in WW2, even letting most of the Polish armed forces escape through Hungary. They too would go on to join with Germany.
reply

So japan and Poland were best friends got in a fight
Poland went out with different friends
Japan didn't like that and they decided to stop talking
But then became best friends again

reply

I remember seeing in some page a document that demonstrate how Japan helped polish orphans, I think there is an old polish orphanage building somewhere in Japan, although I don't know much about this
