You fail to mention how they also refused to hand over Jews under the statement they would hand them over when no longer useful but never did and even helped some of the Jews in surrounding territory not get sent to concentration camps by setting up work camps of there own and refusing to hand them over Bulgaria started the war with 48000 Bulgarian Jews and after the war still had 48000 Bulgarian Jews after other Jews went to Isreal.

Acording to what we study in school bulgarian troops actually had a big role in the occupation of Greese and Yugoslavia, but our history is so messed up that I can't say for sure which one is. Even the date of Bulgaria's creation is wrong. Like what we spawn in 681 AC and destroy everybody around including the Byzantine Empire - a great force at that time.

The older I get the curiosity in me grows for the forgotten history of our ancestors. It's really fascinating stuff I never showed any interest back in school so I have much to catch up on.
I have developed an appreciation and love for my country. And I love all the love people are showing towards Bulgaria thank you all and likewise towards you.

I do not understand why Bulgaria wasn't forced to surrender some territory to Greece, since they were on the losing side of the war. It's well known that the south-east part of Bulgaria had a large Greek population going back thousands of years.
Same applies to Albania with the Northern Epirus region.

The people in Macedonia speak very very differently to the people in Bulgaria, you cant compare both languages as they are completely different, yes the dialect and accent is the same but language is very different apart from very small similarities.

Sadly the bulgarian army invaded macedonia and major and cities such as skopije and bitola and shipped the local jewish population to concentration camps yet still to this day will not apologise or recognise the atrocities they caused in macedonia

Even though he was a dictator he was on of the best tsars we had, he was a good man. Its sad that comunism came to bulgaria and the tsar died very sad if you ask me we wouldve been better if we were still a monarchy.

Another less known fact is that Bulgaria was the only country inoccupied Europe (I believe with Denmark) to save its Jewish population from being exterminated in camps. The whole country stood up against it.

They were just trying to get back what was taken from them. Like Germany trying to unite the Germanic peoples Bulgaria wanted to do the same. Remember also that Boris- family was of German origin too.
