video description
1. Portuguese and Dutch opened up sea trade with India and the East. The directed the flow of goods to Europe away from the normal silk road intermediaries. That cost the Ottoman Empire a steady decrease in its coffers.

I believe, it was the introduction of guns & cannons. We never got the might we should have had in regards to artillery. Janissary corps were skilled swordsmen, not sharpshooters! So, Europe might have said, they dont need trade route protection. And, therefore reject paying tributes & taxes. I hope, I have this right. Europeans ofc, wanted their territories back. Now, that the new world was a big contender in trade & power. They didnt need the Ottomans. I am sad that they abolished the empire complete without regard to history.

Dead lock for all empires, reform will break the empire, conservation will prevent industrialization. Almost every empire picked the worst choice: conservationist at first, defeated by westerners, reluctantly reformed, dissolved in disgrace. No empire survived after wwi, don-t say Germany and Japan, they were not classical -empire- because of their simple ethnic structures.

As with any other nation that come before and after, their decline begin with the rise of Ultra-Nationalism followed by increasingly Ultra-Conservative that eventually leads to Fascism and just insanity with the policy and decision making.

The economy of the Ottomans was based on looting the wealth accumulated by the people the enslaved. Once the expansion was stopped the economy was in trouble and the game of Grand Theft Jihadi was over

Turks were a number of illiterate, not educated people living somewhere from around Aral Region to northeast of China.
That is why illiterate Turks had no poet, no philosopher, nothing

I wish the changing trade patterns were analyzed as well.
European trade with India & China was going by sea, diminishing Ottoman coffers.
Is that why the Janissaries were restless?

The narrator of these videos should seriously consider checking his pronunciation of a variety of words. This would take very little time and would make the videos seem far more legitimate.

The Ottoman Empire is an example of a civilization that does not collect the fruits on the top of the trees during the fruit harvest and leaves them to the birds!

I-d say Ottomans really began to decline when IKEA started selling them in high volume but lowered quality to the college student demographic.

With enemies in all front, and constant internal unrest within, the decline of Ottoman Empire is inevitable
