The pepper icon is wrong. Pepper plants are from Central America and were unknown until 1492. Black pepper is an unrelated tree. Nutmeg is not from Sumatra. It is from Moluku.
Indonesia didn't exist before 1945! The people were not Indonesians before then and nobody could have set foot in it before then. There were no provinces hundreds of years ago.
Indonesian is a nationality, not an ethnicity. Ethnicities include a Javanese, Sundanese, Batak, and many more.
The government uses religion to control the people.

Interesting, but some sloppy use of words and descriptions, as usual. Bengal is not in 'Southern India', it is in North Eastern India (and East Bengal is now Bangladesh. Also, Bengal is not 'adjacent' to Northern Sumatra. it is nearly thirteen hundred miles across the Indian Ocean from Calcutta to Aceh. Also, Indonesia won its independence from the Netherlands in December 1949, not 1945.

As an Indian, it is disappointing to me that Indonesia (except Bali) converted away from Indian religions. But this is no reason for hate. India and Indonesia have excellent diplomatic relations.
