Note on Ivor Novello-s stage name.
Novello-s birth registration name was David Ivor Davies. Novello was one of his mother-s given names (after the soprano Clara Novello) and she used the name professionally as -Mrs Novello Davies-.
Hence Ivor Novello.

I never even approached the faintest hint of who it could be. Yet another composer to explore. This is what happens when you spend half of your life proclaiming that -the best composers are German-preferably dead-but definitely German-. Great video. Thanks!

Hello Gareth. :)
I was just wondering if you have an audio-only teaching videos? And if not, would you ever consider making some, so that people can learn while doing things like walking, chores etc? :)

I know very little about Ivor Novello. If I'd known he was Welsh I'd have done a lot better. In the end I took a guess on the last clue which mentioned musicals.
I hope I do better next time.

Didn-t get it, but when I heard the name I recalled that he was a character in the period film Gosford Park (which I love). I didn-t know who he was then either, but now I know more about him. -

Clue #2 gave it away for me, just about the only Welsh composer I've heard of so either it was easy or I got lucky!
I'm 90 points richer than I woke up so thanks :)

Got it on Clue #2. Oddly enough, my great aunt Novello - or -Auntie Vello- for short - was named after him. He was hugely popular in his day.
