Learn about the psychological benefits of organizing! Original Article Jesus: It's amazing that THIS is the video you posted. Yesterday, I had my headphones on and I was cleaning my room. While that was happening, I was SO HAPPY. I was just in a great mood yesterday! Normally, I'm the laziest person ever but I still clean, and yesterday I was doing it willingly. I even did things that I would deem 'too much work'. I figured out how to fix the fallen curtain on the curtainless window, and even climbed up knowing my fear of heights and put it back up! I was honestly so proud of myself, and others around me noticed and were too. I remember telling myself how, maybe organizing is something I like to do. It was just a really amazing experience. Beautiful day outside and all.

I suffer from anxiety and borderline personality disorder. Organization or planning of any sort stresses me out so much that I don't sleep when I have to and fall asleep when I should be doing what had been planned. I also enter into a state of alertness or panic that paralyzes me in my bedroom. Since it started, I have struggled really hard to schedule any doctor's appointment or friends' gathering so I don't see planning and organizing as a means to calming me down but rather the opposite. Is this related to the borderline disorder? to the anxiety? I'm in complete need of help, please!

I get stressed out very easily, and I know that living in a cleaner environment is much better for my health. But I have no motivation whatsoever to do any organizing. Tbh this counts for all methods of organization, whether it be cleaning, keeping a list, etc. I know cleaning my room will be better for me later on, but it's so hard to do anything besides sleeping, eating and crying.

Personally, I have to constantly make lists of things that I want to buy. I will make 20-30 lists of the same things until I buy them. It allows me to plan out money and I get excited about what I'm getting once I have a concrete list finished.

I organize files on my computer. my room is half organized and half messy. Probably should work on my room, been having trouble sleeping lately this might be the cause since all other reason have been addressed and proven not the case.

I love to organize and resort my files on my hard drives and create backups on regular basis. This gives me great satisfaction.
The problem though, that I may get stuck in the process and I'll never know when to stop.

ever since i was a child i'd be the most hyper loud child until it came to the random moments of cleaning, then i would be completely silent. still occurs to this day. i thought i was the only one

Didn't he mean disorder instead of desorder? My native language isn't English so maybe I just need to update my vocabulary but to my knowledge a word like that doesn't exist XD

I love organizing. it feels so good to organize. I try to keep things organized but it can be hard with another human in the house who puts things everywhere it does not belong

I love minimizing and organizing. I have a desk, a bed, drawers, laundry hamper, a shelf, and of course a chimney lol. I am in control of my environment which pleases me.

I'm weird cause I hate cleaning. Like cleaning legit makes me angry and want to punch walls and kick stuff. Idk. I can function in mess, I even think I work better in it.

I love organizing and yes it does relaxed and calm the brain along with your anxiety and worry of things that are out of your control. I recommend it every chance I get.
reply

This makes sense because when you have moments that cause anxiety, the anxiety goes away because you were able to find your stuff.

Mechanical work is very therapeutic for me. Physically, I hate it. Mentally, it makes the world make sense.
