Toxic siblings can put a damper on a lot of things. Depending upon the level of toxicity it can be hard to engage with the rest of your family, or even friends that have been there for some time. It can also put stress on you while you try to suppress your feelings for the sake of keeping things civil between the two of you. There is a myriad of reasons why we keep toxic siblings at arms length, but what can we do once weve identified the issue? Interested in supporting us? Grab a solar planet bracelet

I know ppl probably won't care but I just had to share it so I guess imma drop this here (and forgive my english. So my brother is 25 and I'm 19, we grew up close along with another older brother. Now that he lives far away from our house he only visits during summer holidays. So he came here for a week with his gf and they're leaving tomorrow. We had fun, kept on teasing each other and joking together like we always used to do. The thing is. I now realize how much of a jerk he can be, especially towards our parents.
We hadn't seen him in months yet aside from the jokes we didn't have any serious conversation, even tho my mom had plenty of stuff to tell or ask him about. As tonight was their last evening here, you'd expect they could eat with us for a movie evening. But nah, he grabbed a plate and rushed towards his bedroom with his gf and played video games on his computer even tho what our mom bothered to cook was getting cold. In fact, this whole week our dad cooked a lot and prepared time-consuming meals. Yet neither my bro nor his gf ever did the dishes or helped him cook.
Moreover, when he's away the whole year, we barely get any news and he never asks us how we're doing. He forgot about Mother's day and barely wished her happy birthday. He didn't ask me about what I wanted to study next year, didn't wish me luck for my exams (though I doubt he even knew when they were since, well, he never asks. He also knew my mom had a burnout and had to take two weeks off, but never asked about what happened or how she was doing since then. He only reaches her or our father whenever he's got a request. And yes, he was here for a whole week but still didn't ask her.
So basically, he behaves like a kid. Loves joking around, fighting with siblings for fun or playing games. But doesn't care about his family's life and feelings, and doesn't realize how much people do for him. The thing is, he's 25. And also, it hurts. Well, I can endure it but I'm worried about my mom. She loves all of us so much and considers us as the most important thing in her life. Family matters so much to her and she's also the kind to get easily affected by her family's deeds and behavior. She needs displays of affection, she needs to actually spend time with us and to know that we care. But seeing my brother like that, playing video games although he's leaving the next day early in the morning and we won't see him for a while. it really hurt her. Now she wants to get over it and stay away from him as long as he doesn't change. I can't help but wish she told him things clearly, but I know there's a risk that he might not change his childish behavior. I just wanted to tell him or yell at him but I don't know if it's really my role as a little sister. either way, I know mom will get hurt and I don't know what to do. I love my brother so much but damn, sometimes I just wish I could slap him in the face.

My parents a gone a lot of the time, so whenever I am alone my older sister comes after me. I am taller, but my momma raised me to be a nice person. Not once in my life have I mentally attacked my sister just for the sake of it, yet she does this all the time to me. I really have no choice but to attempt to ignore her, but she always belittles me Infront of my friends and her friends. So I never really get a break from her, just yesterday night, I was going downstairs to take my medicine when I came back upstairs without my medicine box. She exploded, at the time i was running on roughly 3 hours of sleep and a large mountain dew. She yelled at me for minutes on end and came to the conclusion that i was an anoying little Btch. I go downstairs to get the medicine box so i can go upstairs and give it to her so we can pack up and go home.
Later that night, I am in bed, and my sister is across the hallway on her phone talking to her boyfriend when I tell her (politely) to keep the noise down. She then responds with Oh wow. Angry, are we, and I then respond that, yes, i was annoyed at her. My eyes were twitching and my brain running on low battery blurts out; You have made my life a living hell, you come home after a goodnights sleep, a nap in the car, and a nap at the house. I have had little to no sleep in the past 24 hours. You belittle me for the smallest reasons and you make everyone feel miserable just to make yourself feel better. You hurt my feelings for fun whenever you feel like it. I am sick and tired of you treating me like this. She then proceeds to tell her friend that I am being an asshole about her little conversation.
I was deeply upset about the situation and to all the little brothers out there with an older and abusive sister; you arent alone.

When my brother wants to play and i say no he is like you always says no! i hate you (imagine really hurtfull words) and then he goes to our dad and is like (my name) said no to play with me and then it's my fault that i said no and i feel like it's my fault that i said no and then the next time i say yes bc i don't wanna hurt his feelings i say yes and still my heart says no. When i then say i don't wanna play anymore he starts crying and say how much he hates me and i'm like that's why i don't play with you and he covers his ears everytimes i start explain my boundaries/rules why i don't wanna play then he says that aren't reasons ooookay idc just play with me sometimes he even hurts me like slaps or kicks me and when i defense myself i get blamed and it's my fault

I just realized why i hated my cousin. Crying right now. It was because my sister never treated me like her sister. Instead she would treat others like her sister around me which made me very jealous. because I wanted to be treated that way to. I used to be jealous over strangers bro because she would treat them like a sister to her. The worst part was i never gotten to have a relationship with her. Look I know she has probably treated me like her sister but the thing is i have 0 memories because of past stress she put onto the family. So because i would see my sister treat my cousins like an younger sibling i got jealous. Builded up hatred. I literally got jealous of a baby. A baby.

(TW) The worst thing about it, is that i can't get away from it no matter what. When I tell you he made me want to kms so many times i mean it. All throughout my childhood (and is continuing) he would bully, belittle, manipulate, scold, and emotionally abuse me. No matter what i did he always find a way to make me feel horrible. I always hated him for everything. And it never got any better because my parent would never fix his behavior by taking him to a therapist. They would scold him at times but they never really understood the picture of how messed up he is towards me. In the future, The only thing i hope for is to never be able o see him again.

I thought my younger brother was the one who protect and care for me from other people. But he was the one who broke my heart because he's saying bad words at me, shout at me and punch me that it so much hurt physically and mentally. I don't know why he did those things. I don't know what to do. i just cried. He doesn't respect me anymore as an older sister or a woman. I felt so useless because i can't behave him. He never saying sorry to me, but if he said those words i will forgive him eventually because i love my younger brother so much. My mental health is at risk. I'm tired. I just prayed to God.

My youngest brother is so toxic, he belittles me, doesn't take responsibility for his behaviour or messes, acts like he is the man and he has such toxic masculinity beliefs, and he also swears at my mom and me. I have been walking on eggshells in my apartment. I don't trust him at all and I have decided to detach from him. Even if I have to live with him, doesn't mean I don't deserve to be verbally abused and for him to go tell my mom on me. He will never change, he is who he is and when I do move out, I will cut him out of my life for good. My mental health is affected by his toxic masculinity.

My older siter is annoying, she is always complaining moaning even when she has everything she wants, she is rude to me and our mother. Unfortunately, our mum jist doesn't do anything serious, she just says its a phase, were very close in age. She thrives off attention, and I jave tried to talk and het my mum to do something but she just doesn't. She never is in her bedroom and always co, es in the lounge to talk and complain about nothing much. I once mentioned that not to have her bedroom and she got really angry. She's verbal, never physical.

Me and my lil brother argue like every single day, and i just hate it, and tired of it, hes SO annoying, and disrespectful too, He keeps answering back to me in a rude way. Especially when im trying to study for my exams, he keeps disturbing me and throwing pillows at me and saying its a joke which its not. He also likes to blame me for everything when its not even my fault, and my grandma always support him. But i dont stay silent, i roast him sometimes because hes being annoying and mean. Always stand for yourself and be strong!

What sucks is I know that I make mistakes with stuff in my life, but when its with my sister we can almost never resolve it. I try to be better but sometimes it becomes difficult when youre sibling believes youre the one at fault. It sucks too cause both sides were at fault and when I try to admit her faults with what happened it always gets spinner back to me. Maybe I need to try harder but I feel like out of the two of us Im trying really hard to mend things but it just becomes so draining.

Idk whether it's toxic or not but my eldest sister always put other people first rather than her own family and sometimes I feel that she's intentionally befriend with the person that hates me just to hurt my feelings and to add to that HER HUSBAND ALSO doing the same things like he sometimes gang up with the person boyfriend who hates me just to sarcasm me. P/s: I'm not a native English speaker so yeah bad grammar but hope yall can understand what I'm trying to state here.

My aunt threatened to punch me in the face. She refused to let me have the games I wanted, opting for games of her choice that I didn't care about. My aunt would also put me down while trying to clean the bathroom saying stuff like Why can't you just get it done the first time. I eventually found out that they were using my money for both my birthday gifts and Christmas gifts, and I never even wanted what I got.

Back when I was younger my life was better and my brother was still a jerk to me after a while I started getting mad and I started doing things that no one should do like throwing stuff at him punching but hes done all that to me but 10 times worse he Ruined my life but all you have siblings now stay strong and please try as hard as you can to avoid that and try not to lose your temper like I did

Remember something my mom taught me about her toxic sibling: the parents are allowing the harassment to go on. In many cases, if not all they find ways to support the abuse-they want i to go on. They like it! The best thing a child can do as soon as he's able is to leave home and get help. That way he or she wont pick a partner who embodies traits of their evil family and sibling.

We are both toxic to each other, but I cannot stand her lies, gaslighting and deceit anymore. I am toxic to the fact that I cannot stand the fact she got what she wanted when she never worked for them and still robbed me. But she's been awful to me. A very manipulative personality! Everyone thinks she's a saint. Because she's very convincing and persuasive!

Sadly almost none of these would work in my sister because she:
1. Shifts the blame onto me
2. Follows me when shes angry
3. this one works
4. Finds something I did to blame me for
5. Follows me (again)
6. Will start hurting me if I dont answer
7. Would never do this
8. Im bad at this
9. No.
10. I physically cant do this one

I was trying to fall asleep but found myself thinking about my sisters lies and couldnt fall asleep uncomfortable like that! I then looked up, how to deal with an older sibling that always lies. As you may have guessed, I found this video. After watching the video and reading the comments, I feel better now, knowing other people are on my side. :)

I tried for years to put an end to my narcissistic toxic brothers behavior with no luck. This weekend it reached a breaking point. My now ex-brother blatantly said he hates me pure and simple and doesn't want a brotherly relationship with me so now I have severed ties with him and I'm moving on with my life.

My brother or sister likes intimidating me, next when they ask for help they except me to do it in a proper way. If I dont they get made at me. They talk to each other and tell one another not to speak to me unless I say sorry. I dont like this. Please help me.
