What does it mean if you have problems expressing thanks and gratitude verbally? Such as saying a simple thank you to your family members when they help you to do sth or they buy you sth. you find it difficult to say it and later it affects your relationship with your partner?
For example, your partner and you go out for a meal. Your partner pays the bill first but you find it hard to say hey let's go dutch but instead in your head, you were already thinking about where to take them for a meal the next time because in your head, u were thinking to give them a treat in return. But you don't say it hence your partner has no idea, or you are thinking your partner knows what you are thinking, hence there is a possible conflict because your partner might think you are taking advantage.
Or if your partner treats you a meal, you find it hard to say thanks verbally. However u find it easier to text and say thanks. (after the dinner, u went home and you express your thanks in text)
Is there a psychology term for such issue? If so, whats the reason for such behavior? Can you do a video on it? (My parents have never express thanks or compliments to me before so I think that's why, is it because it is vulnerable to express verbally)

I want to open up to my best friend about something that's been getting to me for a while now but I don't know how.
I went through a really bad time with my mental health and he was there to help me through it, I started getting better but recently it's been getting worse again and I've been hiding it from him. And I think it's straining our friendship, we're talking less and less and our conversations seem forced, he's growing distant from me and I think it's because I'm just repeating the same conversation with him over and over again, partially because of our distance meaning we're not free at the same time much at all, but partially because I'm scared that if we talk about something else I'll end up breaking down and he'll see how weak I am. I'm so scared of losing him and I think I'm the cause of this emotional distance growing between us.
If anyone has any advice at all, please tell me what it is, I can't lose someone as close to me as he is.

1) Admit and own up to your mistakes. Not comfortable letting your guard down but being self aware will help us grow
2) listen to partners needs and difficulties without the need to problem solve. Be in touch with partners emotions and mindful of their pain
3) learn to let go of your control. Sometimes Allow your partner to take the initiative. Trust them
4) hold on to who you are without letting shame hold you down. Dont compromise who you are to be with someone and dont be codependent but be vulnerable
5) check with reality. Have a different perspective if emotions are in Line with what is actually happening. Dont jump to conclusions without concrete evidence
6) help partner feel safe. Its all about your partners needs, thoughts and emotions.

See the thing is, Im scared of reactions I guess you would say.
I couldnt talk to my now bf for a year because I was scared of just what he might do, what he might say, what he might think of me. Ive been abused all of my life so for something to go right for me is a blessing.
And now that Im in a relationship with this guy, Im scared of what he might think of me after I tell him about my past. Some people cant handle it and turn away from me. but I hope he doesnt do that to me.
I dont know why I am so scared but I do know that the only people that know are my best friends so to tell someone Im falling for kinda scares me.
I dont know exactly whats scaring me or how I need to go about handling this fear, but if you read this maybe you can help?

This is helpful. But it's hard to open up when your anxiety is through the roof and you say negative things about yourself. It's also hard when the person you love keeps comparing you to their ex. It took s while for me personally to get over what my ex fiance did to me. It took me longer to come to terms of what happened at age 16 by someone I trusted. I couldnt trust men 100% because of it til my current boyfriend. Letting him in is hardest because deep down I feel he will just leave me in some form or another, and I cant handle being left alone again like that.

Sent someone close to me this video as soon as it went up. Me and her were already trying to repair things between ourselves. I usually sent her these videos so she could have a better understanding of me. But for the first time I finally get to see a video where I can send it to her to label as us and what we both can do.
And I have no idea why, but she's very great at expressing emotion so she had to go to the bathroom to call me and cry.

Please may I add something that I picked up on in this vid. And it is that Co dependency issue, that I feel that before / in the past. I have let the power and ' brutal' chemical imbalancing effects ruin my chances of been my try self. And I must say thank you to you for helping me sort a bit off my head out and now have some proper understanding and knowledge of the hell I have been on Myself

Is it just me or are there very few romance movies centered around vulnerability? There are several movies about breaking barriers with love, but I haven't found that many the centers it's climax around the couples becoming more vulnerable to each other. I'd love to know if there are any good films that prove me wrong. (So far, I've found Arcane having that moment)

I LOVE POINT NUMBER 2. Listen and dont try to solve. Being vulnerable means having the courage to share without fearing to be judged or made to feel less than. And even if we are not trying to be mean by solving the problem it sometimes can feel like we are weak for not figuring it out. THANKS FOR SHARING!

So I always love your videos because I find them very helpful. I even have a playlist of a few of them so that I can look back and know ways that I can improve. But as stated by multiple people, I love the new art style. I'm not entirely sure why but it feels more real.

#6 if a woman was in a previous physically abusive relationship would his facts as a man playing too with rough or loud with her be perceived as reality or how she preceived his roughnes or tone/volume matter? People have different thresholds and perceptions of pain.

That last couple. The more masculine one seemed to be blind. That hit me pretty hard, because the person I love really is blind. Weve bonded over words and songs. And honestly he kinda looks like the person in this video. Its a strange coincidence, is it not?

My girlfriend broke up with me this week and the biggest feedback I got was that I wasn't vulnerable enough and would not let her in, bottled stuff up. I hope I can be better in my next relationship. I'm doing a ton of research to find more info.

Currently very vulnerable in my relationship and I don't know how to stop being so depend because we were very very loving and equally as vulnerable now it's just me. I even feel unloved at times. And I get very confused. IDK what to do: (

For the third point I'm a financial minimalist and a follower of the Financial independence retire Early movement. I'm too afraid that if I let go on that part my partner and my finances will go down to crap. It's sets off my panic alarms.

Mum never really cared when I was being vulnerable. She didn't know what to do about it, or she just dismissed it. So I guess I learned subconsciously that being vulnerable won't bring you anything worthwhile.

Whats holding my heart back?
I dont want to let someone in again only to be insided by them.
Ive tried four times and each time went the same exact way. I dont want it anymore.

When you're with the right person, letting your guard down and being vulnerable, no matter how scary it may be, is one of the most rewarding things you can experience.

I've never felt love, never had a crush or feeling like that for others. is that normal, why is that, and what should I do. if any one knows please tell me.
reply

FEAR BLOCKS LOVE
Always remember that. If you are afraid of heartache and emotional pain, you will never experience love.

Another thing you probably shouldnt do: dont introduce them to your murder cult without them any indication they would join.

Sometimes I do struggle with holding myself back thinking my partners gonna judge me and show my partner my badside

Can you expand more on step 5. - check in with reality? How/with whom should we do that? It's a really interesting concept
reply

Can't believe I learned lesson number 2 on an episode of south park where craig tried to be a good boyfriend to tweek.

This is all well and good, but my walls are way to high to climb or demolish, so basically I'm beyond date-able.
