I didnt want to go to school because of how many people dont like and that I'm scared to go because of how many people are there.
My mum was just calling me lazy and she kept punching my thighs and my head. She emptied a bottle of water on my head and pushed over my mattress so I would get out of bed. Then because I was crying she threw my guitar at me. Throughout the whole thing she kept shouting and I just felt so upset and worthless. After she finally gave up she tried to choke me but I did push her off and she called that assault. She left the room and has now just went to work. I'm really scared because she said that when she comes back shes gonna kill me and hit me more. What do I do someone please help

I told my mom I had really bad social anxiety, I am scared to talk to people, walk into stores to get food for her, or even be outside and see people in general. This all developed during 6th grade I cant exactly remember what happened all I know is I got it from school. Anyways I told her I have bad anxiety and she was like, thats okay I will get you therapy I was happy but then she kept making me come along with her to stores to help my anxiety when it just made it worse. And its been a YEAR sense she said she would get me therapy. I dont wanna tell her again because she said she was struggling with her mental health so. yeah.

I would be a social bird if.
1) people stop judging me
2) parents stop comparing me
3) people stop gossiping about others (cause when they gossip about others it makes me really scared that they might be gossiping about me too)
4) people will stop making me feel that I'm not good enough
5) people will stop asking too many questions about me (i can understand the fact that they wanna know about me but it's just so uncomfortable)
6) there will be people who cheers me up
7) people would stop talking about their/orhers relationships (i just find it so awkward)
8) my parents tried to understand me
And more.

I need to stop reading these comments I have not told my parents yet and it's been like 2 to 3 years and it has gotten worse since then and these comments are making me so overwhelmed and know I'm scared of what mom is going to say I swear these comments are giving me an anxiety attack and it will probably take me a very long time cause my anxiety has increased it went from normal social anxiety to strong social anxiety and I'm not sure if that's a good thing cause the more I wait the more my social anxiety increase and also the more overwhelming it's going to be for me to tell my mom this

I tried to tell my mum but she denied it as a normal occurrence. I had to have a 30 minute talk with her, she understood. My dad is less understanding and I feel really scared to open up with him. I want to get help, or properly diagnose so people can take me seriously, but I need his permission and Im feeling really scared to tell him. I have a really kind friend that I sort of opened up to but we are now in online school for the next week. I hope to tell her when we come back to school so my parents dont overhear.

whenever i say oh yeah i get really panicky when someone asks me to answer a question randomly my mum would just say you? i dont think you get panicky, your personality doesnt fit it
just because my personality is all fun and energetic, doesnt mean im not struggling with anxiety on the inside. ive noticed i tend to panic more internally then externally. its just really hard to chat with her about my anxiety because i feel like she doesnt believe me at all because i dont regularly show signs of it externally.

I'm trying to tell my mom but when I opened up about it a bit ago, she told me I was just shy that it runs in the family. I'm going to send her the video 7 Signs it's Social Anxiety and not Shyness and hopefully that will help. I'm not currently in the position to take matters into my own hands and go to a doctor myself because I'm currently too young to do so. I'm just trying to get it across to her that it isn't just shyness.

Ive tried telling my mum a few times. I sat her down and told her that I think I have anxiety, and i dont think Im okay, then I told her the reasons of what could of caused it but she just doesnt believe me. She says Im too spoiled and Im looking for attention. Im scared to reach out to my school councillor because I feel like my parents would get mad since Im getting myself into a mess if they find out
reply

Hey everyone.
I just told my mum about my anxiety (i have a reading anxiety, basicially i get anxious everytime i read aloud in front of class) and told her that i have a problem with reading aloud, and its really depressing. She totally understood that, and i'm getting ppsychological help now. Just tell your parents. You will feel better after that. Oh yes and also, try meditation guys. It helps.

My parents told me I was faking it, and I had a panic attack when they told me it was fake, and they thought I was faking it till I went to the doctor for a yearly checkup and she told me I needed to go on medication because after just a few questions it seemed like I had sever anxiety, and it turns out I do, my parents have finally excepted it and it is making my life so much easier
reply

Im here, i told my mom that i have a anxiety attack. I have a short breathing and my heart keeps beating fast. I told my mom and she said i was faking it and she triggered it more she said its all about my phone. I cant stop crying knowing no ones understand me. She even said she will call my dad about my drama even though its not a drama. They making it worse, i hate my parents.
reply

Uhm how do you tell your mom, who is extremely conservative and believes that mental illnesses can be magically cured by willpower alone, that you suffer from depression and anxiety (which has me worried because it has been going on for 5 years and she still dismisses it like it's just any other phase? Maybe not tell. More like explain in to her in a way she'll understand.
reply

i can't bring myself to tell my parents. i'd tell my school counselor but they'd give me advice that had nothing to do with it. my friend who has diagnosed anxiety and depression, told our counselor (she was completely aware she was actually diagnosed with it. our counselor said take a sip of water you'll feel better. everyone gets stressed, it's not just you.
reply

im too young to go to a doctor myself and i want to go to the doctor as soon as possible to get a therapist since in my doctor's place, they ask if i ever feel stressed nervous or depressed and i was tok scared since i thought i would be fine to not choose it but i realized now that i need someone to talk to about it
reply

How do we do it if our parents discriminate symptoms of depression and anxiety? Like Ive told them before and they know about me having it before but sorta brushed it off as overdramatized and my age. Even though I have anxiety every day and sometimes Ill have panic attacks at the same time. How do I explain this?
reply

i told my whole family that i have anxiety, and they didn't care. everytime i tell them why i didn't do something, etc i just say that i just felt uncomfortable at the moment, because i remember that they don't believe that i have anxiety. i wish they could understand and take me to the doctors to diagnose me.
reply

Hi guys. Please read this. I don't have diagnosed anxiety. It really feels like it is there and impacting my day to day. I don't want to sound like I'm slef diagnosed because it's a trend. I'm really worried and cannot come to tell my parents or anyone. Please reply with help
reply

Thanks a lot for the tips, the method im actually gonna use is tell my doctor first and then let her tell my mom. I think it will be a lot better if she hears it from my doctor and since my doctor does quick mental health evaluations for the people my age it should be pretty easy.
reply

When i told my mom i think i may have social anxiety she said: haha did you diagnosed yourself?
And thet really really hurt, i felt like crying and hiding from her. I never thought she would say that. She is usually such a good parent. That happened like 1/2 months ago.

reply

I dont have diagnosed anxiety (yet) but i feel like i might have it. I want to talk to my parents about getting me tested but i am not sure how. I did some research about the symptoms and stuff, but i dont know how to approach my parents to this. Does anyone have any tips?
reply

when i tried to tell my mom about it she just said that everyone is normal and im a freak/crazy and that i should fix wtvr issue i have and start talking to people like how kids my age do
im gonna watch this and talk to my dad about it now hopefully he understands

reply

Why are you so anxious? You're just in your head too much, and need to get involved in more things.
Yes, because If I get jittery smoking cigarettes, I should just _smoke more cigerettes_
How to tell your parents you have anxiety? Answer: _Don't. _

reply

Well I did it
At three am on Christmas Day
He listened to everything I had to say and thinks there is indeed a chance I might have social anxiety
Oh and btw My dad said it was cold (we live in England)
I was warm (you can probably guess why)

reply

I tried.
They say I am overreacting and I will get over it but it is not that easy.
I told my mom I can't concentrate in school and I can also not talk in class at all. She said I was scared in class to but she doesn't get it's more than that
