I can never leave the house without checking the things that i take out with me with the thought i mightve forgotten something.
When i dont do anything, my thought just tell me that (maybe)im supposed to be doing something so also i cant go anywhere without holding anything since anxiety kicks in.
I might have OCD but im not really trying to think about it. Its overwhelming but it benefits me in the same way it bothers me, i dont have friends and with these i dont get bored at least tho its hard to sleep sometimes thinking about tomorrow and tonight. More than physically i think im more repeatedly tortured mentally, i mean i like writing stories that never ends since i have to revise and revise that i lost count already since i seem to seek perfection not set be them but set by me(i believe i set them but i cant deny its influenced by them.
I liked music but not too long ago i was called to go with my sister to check the storeroom, since its all closed i started to feel strong anxiety cause it was too quiet for me that i started making a noise with my shoes. its not really quiet in here since were in the countryside, we have more than birds there can be in a bird shop thought its only quantity and not quality.

compulsions have reasons, even if you think they dont. the way i understand it it feeds off of fear. if you fear someone dying, like a family mermber, you might repeatedly check doors to make sure they are locked. not for no reason, but because your brain tells you a burglar will get in and kill them and it will be YOUR fault if it happens. sometimes it can be more random like wanting to shove a pencil in your eye so badly you have to put the pencil down but generally things happen with a reason, even if the reason seems crazy to everybody else. i wish people would try to explain the reasoning behind compulsions because 'flicking the lights on and off' can be a very annoying compulsion. unless it is completely out of left field (once i had to move a mountain dew bottle or my entire family would die. apparently) i wish the reason behind the action would get talked about. 'checking doors' seems small and silly until someone does it 40 times because they 'know' someone will break in and kill their family while they are gone/constantly drive in circles fearing they may have hit and killed a child and just dont remember so they retrace their steps.

Random thing I noticed today that made me think I have ocd:
So I do this thing where whenever Im anywhere I subconsciously memorize the floor plan of a room. Then with each object thats like big and furniture or something I imagine an invisible line going from corner to corner on it as if I was looking at it on a floor plan. Then I imagine that the line extends infinitely going straight like theres a giant x in every large piece of furniture. And what happens is Ill just be sitting on a chair or something then Ill feel really uncomfortable and remember those invisible lines and think oh shoot I better move and end up sitting on the floor or something. Its not that I feel like really awful when I touch those invisible lines. Its like when you go to a party and you really dont want to be there but you stay because you promised a friend. Youre uncomfortable, but it feels temporary and easy to fix. But the thing is these invisible lines dont need fixing. They arent real. But Im just now realizing that Ive still been fixing it everyday I can remember in my life. Why?

I see people everywhere that see something slightly imperfect and keep going OMG ITS TRIGGERS MY OCD. No those people don't know how it actually is. Here's a bit of a story. I used to have a classmate in some elementary class and I uncontrollably click pens and tap and those sorts of stuff because of some annoying ocd junk. This one kid pointed that out and got mad at me. Even when I said I couldn't help it nobody would believe me not even the teachers. Those things really annoy me. When you have a mental problem and the teacher says you can help it when you can't it sucks. Even that little thing made me feel sort of powerless because nobody believed a thing I said. It still happens quite a bit. I'm just sitting there doing my work and start clicking a pen without realizing it and the sassy brat behind me tells me to stop. And I stop for a while. Then I start it back up again without noticing anything and they get more mad than before. Then that process repeats until the teachers come in. And then the I can't help it part and now more teachers don't believe me.

This is very true. Mine is more of having to do things a certain amount of times such as how many sheets of toilet paper, or how many sips of water, or how many times I need to complete other rituals. Germs and being organized doesnt bother me so if I say I suffer from it, people always say no you dont your bookbag is a mess. I also get intrusive thoughts very often, so I often have to make up situations in my head like meeting my favorite basketball player or being in Hawaii again. I also suffer from ADHD so its very easy for me to get sucked up into these destructions because I already suffer a lack of focus. I get bored easily so my mind often wanders to intrusive thoughts. Another ritual of mine is stuff has to be even. For example if I throw a ball with my left hand I also have to throw one with my right hand. Its so frustrating when people confuse perfectionist and OCD they can be apart of each other, but just because you like your room to be clean doesnt mean you suffer from OCD. It really sucks and is a huge affect on your life.

i hate certain numbers, legit cant say the number 7 without cringing so hard. i step on pavements exactly 4 times and if i get it wrong i feel the urge to redo it, once i even spent 5 minutes trying to get the exact amount of steps i wanted. i have a ritual/routine for everything like for bed it isn't just go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, for me it's 20 steps towards the bathroom and then turn right and 5 steps into the bathroom. and when i go to the toilet i have to use 4 squares of toilet paper no matter what and i fold them specifically. if i don't follow these steps exactly i have these irrational thoughts about my family dying if i don't follow them or the people/animals i love leaving. im not sure if this is OCD or not but these are my daily problems.

i always said as a kid that i had OCD, but i think it developed over time to the point where i actually do think i have it. im not diagnosed but id like to go to the doctor because id feel better if i knew for sure whether i had it or not. i dont struggle bad with whatever it is i have, and i dont want to treat it, its part of who i am.
in case anyones wondering i do have OCD tendencies. i will continuously check my surroundings to me sure all the pens are clicked in, i'll try to pause a show or video at an even time, if i'm awake between 11: 45 and 11: 59 i will force myself to stay awake to watch the date on my clock or phone change. theres more but thats all i want to share

I have OCD and ADHD at once.
It is a living hell on earth. I HAVE to do things in a specific order, but because of my ADHD I sometimes forget to do it, or just space off, and then later wanna rip my hair out because I messed up something I do everyday. I don't have very severe OCD, but it's still awful because it's still there and I do things in an order, but I can't help when I forget to do it in that order exactly. If I don't jump over the banister thingy on the very last step, I'll have to go back up and go back downstairs again, but sometimes I space out so much in the morning getting ready for school that I don't have time to/forget, and it haunts me all day.

Ye I had existential ocd a while ago, and it was really bad people like it made me emotionally drained and I felt really suicidial back then. My ocd was really bad in december, I told my parents and they told me to keep myself engaged so i dont overthink. It helped to an extend but I still had ocd. then I refered to the internet and tried that therapy where you expose yourself to these thoughts and try to remain calm and yall know what, its so much better now, Im mentally and emotionally stable and I dont feel suicidal anymore.
To the people who are fighting ocd, you got this! I did it and so can you!
Stay safe and happy

i have ocd and hearning that some people think it makes you more productive was the most absurd thing i've seen about ocd (maybe because i already knew about the other four in this video, for example. ocd doesn't make you productive, in fact i'd say it's the opposite. whenever i have to go somewhere i think i might be late because of my rituals, which makes me really worried and anxious (and lose a lot of time) i'm on medication, but i can't really say it's getting better because i was diagnosed pretty recently. but i do believe things will get better after a few months. great video! :)

Im not going to say I have it, but I just suspect it. I have been ruminating and constantly thinking about what my next life will be like and the year I want to be born in. The year I desire repeats in my head constantly all day everyday to the point where it interferes with whatever Im doing. It plays into my delusions that if I think about some event enough it will happen. I know its likely not true and sounds completely crazy, but deep down I cant shake the feeling. Its like theres two parts of me, one thats intruding my thoughts and one thats trying to fight it off.

I'm not diagnosed with OCD. But I always have obsessive doubts. I washed my hand with soap too much my hand exfoliates because I could still feel soap on my hand. When I have doubts about something, I need to find the answers and if I don't find the right one, usually I would cry and feels like I wanted to die. My parents told me to fight it and stop thinking about it. When I try to, my mind starts going 'should I stop thinking about this? What if I dismissed it and something might actually happened? '. What am I supposed to do if my doubts starts doubting the doubt?

I have OCD and my mom doesnt understand what I go through every day because of it. Today I was opening a chip big and I was having trouble so I had to try extra hard to open it. My mom said is that one of yours OCD things. Then I said no I was just having trouble opening it. And she was like oh well you always having to touch stuff weirdly (which is one of my compulsions. And then she had the NEVRVE to say well its not that difficult just dont do them. But she doesnt even care that she hurt my feelings. I cant just not do them, if I could it wouldnt be OCD,

My entire life I had trouble sleeping at night. Many nights went somewhere like this: drink some water, the blanket isnt right, my pillow is in the wrong position, etc. This goes for hours and becomes even worse overtime as I think about how late it is and how tired im going to be in the morning, which makes me even more stressed and in turn makes it even harder to sleep. Every time I feel like I have to drink water, so eventually I drink 2 watet bottles and can't sleep as I need to pee every 10 minutes.

ERP WORKS THE BEST, JUST LET THE ANXIETY BE THERE BECAUSE WE CANT STOP THE THOUGHTS its normal to have an intrusive thought or anxiety the problem is how you react to the thoughts and how you react to your anxiety, normal people who don't have ocd there anxiety is low when they have intrusive thoughts and people who had ocd they have extreme anxiety when they have intrusive thought and they feel so so bad to have this intrusive thoughts and lot of reassurance seeking
reply

I am not diagnosed and I doubt myself about it as I dont want to bring attention to myself but in my head the voices keep telling me something bad will happen and then i do a ritual so then the intrusive thoughts will be satisfied if you will. It haunts me everyday but I am not diagnosed so I dont know. In school, I was constantly lining up my pencil case and supplies so they were in line and organised because it would trigger me. Does this sound like OCD?
reply

If I dont tap or click something that has a loud enough noise (I break my nails because of this. I gotta do it 4 or more times (only even numbers. I also have some pretty bad thoughts which is why I listen to music or something I find interesting. I can do a lot of things while listening to music. I can listen to someone talk while drawing. I can even listen to music while someone talks to me (it messes up what I want to say though.

People don't really understand what OCD really is it's like,
Like wanting to hurt other but don't really wanting it, it feels like you are becoming more psyco day by day, it feels like you felt good ruining peoples simle/happiness but you don't want to because your happiness is already ruined,
And it became more day after day and it won't stop no matter how much you try.

i had a therapist a few years back tell me she thought i might have ocd i laughed it off at the time and said my room isnt clean enough for me to have that. i never knew it was more than being up tight about cleanliness i went back and talked with her about things i've noticed within myself and she confirmed that i am in fact ocd. i hate to say it but i'm embarrassed
reply

I experienced symptoms that show ocd and i keep telling my mom and relatives about it but they think im just making it up but my boyfriend, twin sister and a cousin do think that i have it because of my odd behaviour when things are not organized the way i want it to be and I cant stop thinking about it i will only stop if i did something about it, I honestly need help
reply

My mum said I have OCD (she used to be a nurse/doctor) because when I was little and still now I WOULD NOT touch mud or even go near sand, if I focus to hard on my breathing I would stop, I check that Id turned of EVERY plug in the house, EVEY DAY I had to clean my room other wise a voice in my head would say something bad would happen
reply

I think i have OCD, and it's horrible, i can't do almost any task without repeating it, i can't read relaxes because i check a lot of times if i read correctly, etc. I also have intrusive thoughts whenever i do those things. I tried to tell my mother but she just told me to ignore those thoughts, which obviously it's almost impossible.

Its kind of funny at least to me that I would be the one to associate OCD with wanting to be organized or clean. Now I havent been diagnosed that I have OCD but since its the second video where I can mostly relate to everything said in it Im deciding that I should bring this up in my next therapy session. Ill give an update soon.

For the past few months I've been seeing signs of ocd in me but for me it doesn't seem too servere and I'm not sure if it's actually ocd or not and I don't want to be one of those poeple who says that they have ocd when really they don't and I don't know how to tell. If anyone has advice could you please give me some.

I have Autism, Anxiety & Depression. Also, very often, I put off lots of things due to anxiety or being distracted (the latter, of course, I don't always mean to do. It just happens. My mom has OCD and she says my older brother and I have it. One more thing, is OCD genetic?
