Hey Im just asking a simple question if a parent yells at you in public and claims that you are a brat and a liar even know most the time they are lying about you what should I do like my stepmom like Im grounded right now because I got my phone took a nap in got a 37 in math but they have not told me how when Im post to be ungrounded and Im being accused of the only reason why youre visiting your brother is to play video games and Im like no Im not just visiting my brother to go play video games Im trying to help him out because hes getting ready to sell her house Im trying to help them clean up thats why and then I have a full on argument with her down the road or that one other time were we are at Shoneys she was frustrated about something I told her to take a chill pill and she storms out the building all angry and then Im sitting at the table then all sudden I see her slam her phone into the table and demand me to give her an apology and I look in front of me and the parent/teenager dont know their age looks at me and like are you OK kid and I just said sorry because I finally knew if I continue to argue back theyre just gonna make everything a lot worse

Please do an episode on parental alienation! And how boys need their mothers in their lives. My mother stole my baby when he was 3 and she uses him against me. She withholds love from me and shamed me for embarrassing her and my family because of my mistakes. She makes fun of my mental illnesses and pokes at me for taking medication. Its toxic and debilitating. I miss my boy so much, she has cut him off from his father my father my brothers myself. I need her to hear me out on this. No matter how I try to educate her she just wont listen. Worst of all shes not giving my sun the proper care he so desperately needs. Mental wellness is so important and after not getting me properly diagnosed and treated as a small child my life has been nothing short of an unrelentingly destructive travesty. My heart pains when I think of what my son must be feeling inside, because I know first hand what the abuse from the woman who birthed me. Hes crying out for help but she wont listen, I can see him growing cold. Now withholding his love from me, as shown by his grandmother. I need to be heard. Please help me. - Sasha Rene Stimson.

I was in this situation myself as well. I also went through domestic violence in the home as well. I had no food, no money, old clothes etc. I went through a lot.
Thank goodness I left without saying anything and that was over 3 years ago. I was living in those conditions for over 13 years (2006 - 2019.
I had 6 breakups because of them. I almost had an arranged marriage to someone I didn't know. They broke me and my hubby up when we were dating. I went through heaps.
I got married behind their backs without them knowing and left the house 6 weeks later for not coming back home from college.
I'm living my life, I'm well and happy. A little over 3 years now, I just turned 29 not so long ago and I'm enjoying my life the way I want without any rules or restrictions.

Okay, this didn't happen to me, but it did to my best friend, ( I experienced the entire thing) but about a year ago in 10th grade, I was 13 and he was too. I had previously asked my parent if I can go to his house since it was the day before summer break they told me I can stay the night when I arrived we both ran to each other and hugged after about 1 hour of us planning what we would do over summer break, we both decided to get onto roblox to play for a bit before dinner so about 10 mins of us playing we hear his mom say kids dinner is ready, it's pizza we both ran downstairs to the dinner table and sat. After eating I washed my hands and headed to his room again I'll do part 2 later.

My parents take my devices every night, just because I went to sleep at 12, they went through my stuff behind my back, looked through private conversations with my friends, and so on. ALL behind my back, and Im 18, so itll illegal for them to do thatits privacy invasion and trust breaking. forcing me to hide what Im doing and never speak physically to my friends on a callI hate them. why wont they stop. they break my trust so much. I am having my stuff taken tonight at 9: 30 againPleasesomebody help me to make them stopor else Ill run away

The worst part about abuse is that it can be very sneaky. My vulnerable narc mother was miserable and made sure all of her 4 children knew it. My older brother got married, she did not attend the marriage but instead, sat on our porch and told me (her youngest) what was the point in going to the marriage when their relationship would fail anyways? Even if that's your opinion, keep that crap to yourself and don't essentially corrupt the youth and especially about one of your own children.

Parenting plays a HUGE role in a childs overall development. I had over-involved and intrusive parents who always dictated the way I talked, ate or behaved. They even heavily influenced me in my career decisions. I grew up to become an extremely reserved and scared adult with zero leadership qualities required to survive and thrive in this world. Today I regret and wish they had treated me better so that I could have blossomed into something bigger and better.

True, privacy should be respected by parents instead of hacking all sorts of social media to see what their children are doing at all times. They can even tell find all means to tell untrue facts about the children to other people as a sort of revenge against what their children has done out of good will which they take it as a way to disrupt the authorities of the parents.

Is comparing your kid to yourself as a child the same thing as comparing your kid to other kids? My parents do it a lot with subjects I struggle in or how messy my room is and it always makes me feel small and like I'm lesser than them. They sometimes even compare me to present them. Things like weight and how clean their room currently is compared to mine.

I had an old PC kept in my room as a memorial of my childhood.
My mom put it in the trash saying that it's only a garbage and we don't use it anymore.
When I confronted her, she did not respect my feelings and told me to stop being dramatic.
I'll never forget this in my life.

Never beat your kid unless they do something that's seriously wrong (bullying someone, harrassing someone, assaulting someone etc)
I used to get beaten up for talking to much, saying no or accidentally spilling something. It made me grow anxious. I'm a teenager now but I still fear when my mother snaps out of nowhere.

i want to send this to my boyfriend because his parents are exactly like this, but he never wants to stand up for himself to them. he says he does, but nothing changes. i want him to have a good relationship with them, but i also feel like i have no right or place to interfere. im at a total loss.

I have an example of toxic parenting.
Hitting the child if they do something they don't want to do and have been pressured to do it for years. I experienced this when I was 9. My dad hit me so hard I couldn't breathe. thankfully, my mom came in and yelled at my father for hitting me like that.
