The mirroring definitely works.
Speaking fast is impossible when you're on the spectrum. I win arguments by quick fire texting.
And yes, I'll often go first to get stuff out the way. Didnt realise this would go in my favour.
The don't worry, I'll find someone else grates. I've had that done to me and it feels manipulative. If they say you have free choice, why do they look so angry when I say well, find someone else then, cos I don't wanna do it?
They say it but don't mean it. It's emotional blackmail.

I like to say the person's name in written or in person communication more than once as it gives them comfort to discuss more with you or in the midst of a serious conversation you could slightly change your tone or pronunciate a word in a humorous manner. I found that it lightens the mood and you may see a giggle. That being said, I look for nonverbal cues initially to see if maybe I could put someone at ease.

Something I've done to both get to know someone better and get them to like me a little more is I try and center the conversation around them. I ask about them, how their day was, what their favorite movie is, what they've been up to, their hobbies, passions, job, etc. People like talking about themsevles and are more inclined to people who let them talk about themselves.

Want to win an argument? Just speak faster.
. this seems dangerously close to encouraging people to use Gish galloping. And I'm not sure that mirroring is much better.
Edit: It's also harder to refuse (sic. should be refute) quick-fire points.
Yeah, this is actually just telling people to Gish gallop. Don't do that.

Non manipulative
Thank God it gives me a relief, I was always giving options to people in my life making them aware of what they can choose,
I thought I was manipulating them in thinking that I am actually good.
This definitely gives me a relief that I'm actually not manipulating them into doing something in my favour.

My mother figure always tried to manipulate my sister and I by guilt tripping us. I was the lucky one who quickly saw through her words and actions. I stopped doing whatever she wanted when she did that. My sister was not so fortunate, and she ended up as a people pleaser

Talk faster. That's a cheap shot. Not fair in an argument. T. T
4: 25 Haha, it is manipulative. And this one (#7) would not work on me. So the always work failed here.
I don't think in the way of using tricks like this, I'm just honest.

These are things I already knew. Favor for a favor, heard of it? And NO ONE is approaching a group and asking the ENTIRE group for help. They'll wait until they can single someone out because you only need ONE PERSON

Ik this one psychological trick. ' If you want more information. Just stare blankly at them at do not say anything'. This creates an awkward silence and the person will tend to speak more to break that awkward silence.

As a marketing agent, building rapport quickly with the 5 second friend technique, mirroring and giving people the option to do what they want, helps us get our job done easier because the members are more compliant.

It's funny, I want to take the pressure off of people when I ask for things so I do the reminding them they don't have to do the thing automatically. I don't want to pressure someone into a decision.

I've always mirrored some gestures when I become close to a person, deep down I don't know if It can be also a clue of my lack of confidence: T

I've done mirroring before and I actually noticed it on myself & felt really strange. So I researched it, found out it was normal. What a relief thought I was the only one.

Point 2, unfortunately many people just don't know gratitude. Just because you've done something good or helpful to someone, doesn't mean they'll do it for you too

I've heard that you can give someone anything during a conversation and they'll take it without question. I haven't tried it out yet though.
