I share my room with 2 other people (my younger sisters. they don't respect my space at all. their things gets mixed with mine and there's stuff everywhere. I don't have a space of my own because it's so overrun by theirs. they went on vacation once for a month. my room was so different in the time they were away. I had it nice and neat. everything had its place and everything was organized the whole time. the second they came back, there was stuff everywhere again. the fact that I don't have a space to fully call my own explains a lot about my decline in mental health. other factors affect me negatively too, but my room is a pretty big one. I wish I had a space to call my own. to decorate with everything I wanted and have it be only mine. I don't think that's in the cards for me though. If I moved out, I'd have enough money for about 3 months and then I'd be forced to go back and that's not even counting amenities. my situation isn't the best but there's nothing I can do to fix it so my mental health declines even further. I did learn that from this video

learned a lot about my own mind through my room
room is organized mess, mind is organized mess
I keep stuff that mean thing to me in the top drawer of my dresser, as well as on top of it
my bed is almost entirely full of stuff, like my clothes and technology. the best I can link that to is. fairly sad reasons.
my walls are empty except for 3 things that are right where I lay my head:
a calendar (time blindness)
an old picture of my little sister (when times felt simple)
and a sticker from when dad got me Unus Annus merch (never forget)

I kind of hate my room.
My father is like: It's your room so do what you want with it and make it all yours.
But my mom is like: I don't like this colour for your wall so you don't get to paint it in this colour. I don't like this closet so you get that one.
That's why my room is now almost fully gray and white and those colours make me really unhappy because they make me think about certain periods in life. I would love to have yellow wall, hand painted dressers, posters on my wall and other stuff. These are the things that make me happy.

My bedroom wall has a poster of the alphabet and numbers; there's a bedside table for phone and a lamp and a coaster nevt to single bed There are also 3 chests for clothes and towels and a built-in wardrobe, and a small floor fan. -everything is the room is functuonal even though it is cluttered. Under my bed is an under-bed storage for bathroom towels and clubs for a couple of oairs of shoes. The room is quite small so it was already crowded, but hey, it's only for sleeping: anywhere to stretch horizontally will do, even Harry Potter's cupboard!

Creativity, modernity, comfort
Creativity for all the drawings on my walls, paper chains and the custom music disc
Modernity for the fact, that all of my furnitures are white and I've got two small plants on my desk, which is symbol of cleanliness, also my bed is mostly black and white, my walls are gray etc.
Comfort for the fact that I have big, comfy bed, multiple pillows, seat pouffe and a lot of stuffed animals that I hug to sleep

I have a normal big grey rock on my souvenir shelve. Hear me out, i'm emotionally attached to it cause i dived pretty far down to get it. I was in turkey with my parents and grandparentas and when i was swimming in the sea with my grandpa i looked under the water and saw somethin chunky and wanted to fish it out. Didn't think i could do it but my grandpa encouraged me to. So i did it
well yeah it's kinda symbolic and i have a lot of this kinda stuff lying around

Nah, my room is a butiful beachy vibe, mostly using pink and blue but it has grey/white walls, its kind of minimalist too though, my mom decorated it but than I made it mine with cute handmade things like a handmade try that i put on my tv stand or the cute plant jar that I also have on my tv stand, I am a very athsthetic person though so everthing is very neat and organized.

A lot of these things seem extremely culturally specific, especially when referring to a bedroom. In most places around the world people don't have bedrooms at all. whether and how it's appropriate to display personal items, and whether you own personal items in the first place, seems also quite different depending on how you grew up.

Do adults actually display trophies in their bedroom? I would think this applied more to kids (their bedroom is also the one room in the house that is THEIR room) and students in dorms or with roommates. I would imagine adults would place the things they wanted their guests to see in the living room, not the bedroom.

I call my bedroom a piece of confusing crap, because it doesnt make sense at all.
I have lots of books, i never read books.
I have a desk, i use it as a table.
I have a lot of clothes, i only wear black t-shirts.
I have shelves, i use them to hide crap that i dont want

My bedroom says that it is tidy, well cared for, optimized for comfort and doesn't seem to fall into, or have, much in the way of what you discussed. I like my room as a private and comfortable space for me to learn, exercise, meditate, relax. I don't have anything that doesn't serve a specific purpose: )

I have a room that kind of has a lot of stuff in it, but it's all organized. For example, I have collected stationary for about 7 years, and it's pretty much all on top of my desk, but it's organized. A couple of years ago, I painted my room cyan, which I really regret, so I might paint it again soon.

So um. next to my wall is my bed and um opposite of that is my desk. And on Both those walls, I hang the fan art I made and I print things (fan art or general art from a movie or series or whatever lol) so basically what Im currently simping over lolll
