Yes I can relate to this video I was thought of in a trauma bond relationship with someone named Shelby fillion.
She came across as vindictive with a vindictive look to her Even though she was gorgeous beyond belief.
Miss Fillion degraded me She caused me to fear her resulting in giving her a level of respect.
I gave her a level of respect out of fear of her. Shelby talked about pendency and dependency that children at any age have on their parents. That we also tend to lean on them he had enough of that, That caused me to stand straight up and out of That clear that I was sitting on.
I put my hands onto the table and for the first time had eye to eye contact with her cold calculating eyes.
I said to her about the level of love in level of respect I have my parents but she had enough of it and of me.
Shelby vindictively slammed her hands onto the table sending me into fight - or - flight mode as she told me that one day my parents would die
As a result I was belittled by her sending me into child's pose on a chair with a wave of sorrow in my eyes.
Also and doing so diminishing me
Shelby Then started treating me with contempt.
Though I know I had to distance myself from her She just toxic as he is dangerous to me.
I have a trauma Bond with her though I distance myself from her but a part of me urges to be near her.
A part of me wants to be wrapped in her arms.
I am originally from Boston I met Shelby at my day program called triangle Inc based in Malden Massachusetts in Malden City. Triangle Inc is on 420 Pearl Street.
Even though I have moved from Boston to Savannah Georgia and I am quite far away from her.
I do have lasting effects that stays with me My wanting of Shelby my hatred of her and wanting to be back with Shelby my abuser.
I am still in a battlestick never ending struggle of being addicted to her I feel like her torment of me will never stop.
It is like she taught me from afar
And I don't know what to do

What ANNOYS me so badly is if your MOTHER was behaving this way would you still deal with her? Would you try to SAVE your relationship with the woman who is the reason you're even BREATHING? I see this happen all the time. You have women who will THROW their parents especially their mothers to the waste side, shun them, and talk about how TOXIC and how NO GOOD she is, but they are WILLING to put up with all types of ABUSE. mental, emotional, financial and sometimes physical abuse from these men. Why is that? Shouldn't you FIGHT with everything you have to hang on to your FLESH and BLOOD instead of some dude you met from around the way? This is why I don't feel sorry for most of these women today. A lot of them are REAPING WHAT THEY SOW based on the way they treat their MOTHERS. Ephesians 6: 2-3 clearly states: HONOR your father and mother (which is the FIRST COMMANDMENT WITH A PROMISE, 3that it may go WELL FOR YOU and that you may have a LONG LIFE on the earth. These females have no problem OVERLOOKING this Scripture. They will put up with damn near ANYTHING from these men, but will toss their MOTHERS to the garbage. Their LIFE GIVERS away. Help me to make SENSE out of this. If you are going to FIGHT for ANYONE, it should be your PARENTS (especially your MOTHERS because she's the reason you exist - she could have had an abortion. These women think they are going to make a LIAR out of GOD and CHRIST. The same way you HURT your PARENTS, that's the same way you're going to be HURT by your husband or children. You can BET ON IT. Don't cry when he throws you away because someone BETTER has come along. Isn't that what you did to your PARENTS?

I thought maybe trauma bonding meant you became attached to the one person who was always kind to you. So I guess that's not what this was when I became inappropriately attached to someone in my childhood and then again to someone else between junior high and high school. Those I started to become attached to had been kind to me when others usually were not. What would you call that, then? The first one, I had actually stated that I was in love with her, but apparently that's not what it was either. Man, did my classmates let me have it! It had even tested _her_ patience with me as well, but thankfully the following year when I went to her house to hand her an invitation to my party for my (once again approaching) birthday, she had already forgiven me by then. I can only hope the (male) classmate (also in early grade school) I actually _had_ fallen for, has since forgiven me as well.
Maybe a young girl at barely age 9 knows little about love, but I knew that I didn't mind losing an argument with him. I didn't mind losing a question to him during _show and tell_ because he was called on before I was and asked the question I would have asked. If I had to lose my question to _anyone, _ I would have rather it been _him. _ And even a scolding word from him when I was clearly in the wrong about something was quickly forgotten. And to top it all off, he resurfaced my memory just last spring and it all came back. And I figured if I can't get him out of my mind, I would just continue praying for him. So that's what I do.

This was me two months ago, I did not have a word for it, and labelled it as overthinking, my ex lover was neglectful than loving, they went back and forth with it like they would ghost me for weeks then come back and love me, give me a sense of want and need, it was just so painful in it, because it felt like I should work for that relationship, I stayed all night for just them, I left all my assignments that were needed for them at night just to talk to them, and in morning i would wake early just to text them. I did everything and all for them, but it was never enough, which hurted me, we stayed for a 7 months and talked for almost only about a a month worth of time, my bond with them was traumatic but to be honest if I could turn back time, I could stay with them, I don't know why, but it's probably because I have been in so much failed relationship and love, that it makes me feel and think that i am the mistake, I just feel like I have to complete all the promises them made for me, I know I can't do it, but i feel I am responsible for it, it's painful but this is my life, I don't know why but I regret breaking my bond with them.

I had a trauma bonding in the past, but it wasn't a romantic relationship. It was a toxic friendship, to be honest. He was controlling and tried to do gaslighting to me, but i was smart enough to escape from his psychological abuse. He was a liar and he told me not to believe in my other friends but him, because I am the one who cares for you and i am your true friend. I kept that friendship with him for a certain time because he was always trying to guilt me if i left him. Saying things like: I'm not eating well. I lost my interest for my job. And he even cried. He lied to my other friends just to try to make them leave me, but he didn't succeed. I began to feel quite stressed and i put an end on it. I stopped talking to him and i blocked him on my social medias. One of his friends told me that after i left him, he wanted to End it all. But he's still alive. It's annoying how people threat to commit suicide just to control someone. And no, that guy wasn't a narcissist. I think he had something related to psychosis. Who knows.

Hell to the no,
We are too grown to be doing that, we dont support or assist is this type of behaviour at our grown age, we leave that to the youngins because they dont know any better, but if they do and still choose that, thats on them- you cant help people who dont want to better themselves, for some its a lifelong process.
You really have to correlate between a healthy and toxic relationship, and this is with any and all relationships in your life.
If something is not helping you grow, its draining you or keeping you stagnant.
Also side note: people for years will choose to settle because they dont know any better, you only attract what your higher self thinks of yourself to be.
Perfect example: you will see people from high school after years that you bump into, unhappy as hell, dragging their feet and doing the same sht they were doing back then.

I can relate to every item on this list, with my now ex best friend, but not because she was abusive. She had C-PTSD, severe anxiety, severe depression, and ED tendencies. I tried to save her and make her happy and several times it worked temporarily, but a 15 year old who doesn't have a psychology degree can't save someone who's gone through so much trauma, especially someone who didn't want to be saved. Even though my family and other friends warned me against it, I defended the situation and assured them I could handle it. It was complex and unpredictable because honestly a small part of me was constantly worried that I would wake up to her being dead the next day, because she threatened suicide so much. I think the whole thing could have been a type of trauma bond.

Hey currently I am going through this trauma bond. in one year of relationship I have been abused and abandoned so many times. yesterday we broke up finally. and I am missing her, like I have missed my life. my mind says it's good she broke up and left. my heart is longing for her. I am sad, upset and depressed. somewhere I know she will come back bcos this is not the first time happened in our relationship, already she left 6 -7 times in a year and comed back from 1 day to 7 days depends her choice. and all the time she leaves I totally get broken inside and feels like paralyzed. right now also typing this I am in deep pain. I want to come out of this trauma bond. but my heart is paining and missing her like something. I dunno what to do.

I need to understand if two people can do this to one another? Like, this definitely with the animation seems to contextualize it as a manipulator and a victim.
Is that always the case, what if two people trauma dump, are both emotionally unpredictable etc.
What if there isn't abuse, what if deep down even if you really want to be with someone because of feelings of inadequacy etc that there is a mutual reciprocity in sharing each other's trauma?
We so often contextualize relationships as an other to one. What does that mean in the context of ANY relationship type where the relationship itself has a life of it's own and has a shared experience element?

My best friend shows all these symptoms of trauma bonding. They have a very destructive relationship fir more than 16 yrs. For me as her friend has been very difficult to listen all the time the same complaining about her situation but she is so traumatized that she just cant ask for professional help. Worse is that started cheating trying to find a savior she got upset when I told her that she is hurting herself more and she felt offended. I just stopped being her confident bcs is very overwhelming to see her destructiing herself and she only justify her situation

The woman I was most recently with went back to a 5 year tumultuous relationship. She describes him as comfortable and familiar. I can see what is happening and the hardest part isn't her ending our relationship but seeing a woman I've grown to love to and support go back into the buzzsaw that destroyed her and not being able tell her because it'll just look like I'm trying to get her to chose me over him. So I'll just quietly sit back and hope against hope that he has a change of heart and will finally see her worth and stop cannibalizing her emotionally.

Im in a trauma bond relationship, I keep going back. Shes even told me Im a glutinous for pain as a joke. The interesting part is that shes been doing therapy cause she wants to feel better about herself but when she tells me about her previous relationship that was physically and mentally abusive to her and she kept giving chances to this person it seems like she is trauma bonded to that person. I just cant seem to explain to her that what was done to her (except for the physical abuse) is what shes doing to me.

Part of my healing process was to believe and understand that Life is a Journey and somethings do not work out the way we would have liked them to. But it's the lessons learned along the way and the different experiences that we endure that helps shape our wisdom and understanding that everything happens for a reason. The main thing is we have to take care of our own sanity, self worth and appreciate life's lessons no matter how hard they may be. Stay strong and positive you will get through this.

I am realizing I have a trauma attachment with my mother. And she has the same with my father and my sister.
I really hate that in my culture we romanticize family relationships so much that you just feel the worst for thinking about leaving your family behind even for your own good. And of course, people around you tell you that you shouldn't do it. That you should stay because they are your family no matter what.
That is nothing but BS.

I was in an abusive relationship like this in the past and I didnt have friends to support me through this, they abandoned me and sided with him despite me having evidence of his abuse. Now that Im older and see one of my younger friends going through similar to what I did Im sticking by them and Im not going to leave when they eventually do chose to break things off because I want them to have some kind of support where I didnt.

After so many times of feeling the physical and emotional pain every time it ended, I now know it was a trauma bond and the familiarity of the hopes of the broken promises. I now accept it was trauma bonding and I am ready to finally move on and let go. Although, I was already coming to terms with it---I needed to see this quick and visionary explanation. Thank you so much for this.

Thank you for this video. It helped me to understand that my wife consciously or unconsciously used that intermittent reinforcement in our relationship and created in that way the trauma bond. While abusing me, she asked me why don't you just leave me? And I just couldn't go. Now we are separated and I see a better life ahead of me.
What can I do to recover fast from that experience?

for so long after being in a relationship like this, i thought i was going crazy. that we loved eachother in a way ' other people don't understand '. this video basically describes how that relationship was. it hasn't even been a month since i last spoke to her, but i want to keep my strength to never go back. we were in a horrible loop for years and im only 20. i thought it was normal.

Can this be both ways because I think Im the one making him walk on eggshells but hes the one who keeps on betraying me. I keep sacrificing my self. Some days I hate him. Some days he terrifies me. And sometimes hes the only person I want to be around.
We are friends now and I still feel like Im trapped with him to a degree why is it so hard to run.

Where are the resources to get through this? We're not together anymore but my nights without him are making me miss him way too much to the point where I'm begging him to come back and I know this isn't healthy. Ive been leaning on God, but I feel an emptiness inside that I feel only the ex can fill and I don't like it.

Bonded to my mother who tailored me to her specifically. Then husband who did the same. And now that my c-ptsd has left me debilitated and unable to care for myself, husband is doing 50 years in prison and shes getting worse herself, Im trapped in my mother and step fathers home where Im not wanted. This shit sucks

I experienced every one of these with my former best friend and it was really hard to leave. It took me 1-2 years to finally get the courage to end it and even though I know the pain that she caused me and I haven't seen her in almost a year, I still miss her every day.

Everyone knew I was in an abusive relationship before I did. It was hard to see because I excused it as just her being sensitive and in pain a lot. I am still trying to extricate myself, but I love her. I just stay away as much as possible now that she has a boyfriend.

When the person you are trauma bonded to leaves YOU, the breakup is so much more painful than a normal one. You enveloped and lost yourself in this person and now they want nothing to do with you. Its like all that you gave up and lost about yourself wasnt worth it.
