12 Facts About Naps That Will Surprise You skip: when i was a young man working shift work going to school, i'd take a mid day 20 min nap mid school, and that did wonders for me! when i later joined usaf for a very demanding language program, i worked out that they gave us sort of a long lunch, which i repurposed to a mid day nap of about 15-20 min. all new material was presented in the afternoon, then tested the next morning. i started doing MUCH better in a program with a 60% washout rate. i'm an absolute believer in power naps, and yes, i'm gonna buy your promotion, cuz items like that help a lot!
actually i bought two.

Can you explain why some feel like they must take a nap between 2-4 pm? Ive always been one to be nodding off sleepy, regardless of diet changes at lunch. I even arranged my college schedule to accommodate this as much as possible to have all my classes in the morning, take a nap, then study and go to bed at the same time every night. Ive been out of college for over 20 years and I still get that way at the same time every day, especially when under stress. (And who isnt these days)

Im that kind if person that dosen't waste time but always does because of bad sleeping habit.
I would not sleep until my body is literally too tired to do anything. I obsessively sleep everywhere I can, from cars, floors, table and etc. Im also more of an night bird because i tend to be active in night compared to the morning.
Im also a deep sleeper which makes it hard to wake up at a certain point because nothing can really disturbed you

Way back in the 90's we used to have sleep pods that employees could use for naps or quiet time as needed. They were removed when the incompetents that came up with the open office concept plowed into the building infesting every floor with the open office concept. The open office concept has increased medical claims by 16% since germs began to spread faster and easier without barriers.

Kinda not relevant, but I have a cute story about naps.
When I was in high school, my little brother was in preschool, and one night asked me if we had naptime in HS.
Being a typical irritated teen, I said, Noooooo, of course not!
A perfect comeback (and a truth for me) hit me just then, and I said, Well, maybe during algebra class.

nr 3 is super true for me. if i take a nap in the afternoon, i can't fall asleep during the night. that leaves me like a zombie the day after, so i need another nap to come back to life a little, and then not sleep again during the night. it's a vicious circle that breaks only if i refuse to sleep in the afternoon

I am the three types of nappers everyweek. An an asisn kid, we are required to nap at 1 pm and wake up at 3. But now that i am busy with school, i have to plan my naps or i have to do an emergency nap to work evenmore.

As an undergrad I began taking 20 minute power naps in my car after lunch - I was wide awake and ready to go for afternoon classes, I noticed my classmates weren't so happy to be there and fought the afternoon snooze.

I tend to feel rested after a nap, but it makes my husband more tired, and sometimes anxious after he wakes up. We only nap for an hour or so.
