Are you an introvert? Do you feel that an introvert is more likely to be depressed due to social isolation? What are your thoughts? Team Venti: I kinda had depression once, im saying it lightly Because im not sure if it was depression or just a start of it. Anyways, lets just Say, that going from being a only child, moving to a completely different Country where i barely Even knew the language (here in england) and puberty all at the same time was tough! Oh! Did i forget to Say i was heavily bullied, Both physically and mentally and the teachers didnt want to help me, pretended They didnt hear or notice me even if I was tugging on their sleeve! Im not trying to victimise myself. But it was a hard time. And to top it all off, we were living on rent in possibly the worst house on earth, full of rats and bedbugs, as someone who suffers from arachnophobia (the fear of spiders) I did not take lightly to the fact that there were bugs crawling on me whilst I slept and sucked My blood like a tiny army of vampires! 2016 was a terrible year, and I wish I could loose all memory of it. Ice packs is all I remember. I will forever be thankful to the wonder that is music. Learning to play the piano, I think, was the biggest part in fixing me. Ill stop there. Wouldnt want to take up too much of your time. Love your vids! They really help me understand myself and the ones around me more than I used to, and why I am this way. So thanks! I really appreciate them!

Introverts tend to be more susceptible to depression since they rather keep it to themselves or don't have someone to rely on. On the other hand, extroverts do share most of their thoughts and/or have people to console them
Introverts accumulate the sadness and introverts can get rid of it
I noticed this comparing myself (introvert) to my friends (mostly extroverted) since they have way more trust in people and have more friends they don't develop strong depression signs, i am the opposite because i keep everything to myself i am starting to feel extremely unmotivated and have panic attacks way more oftenly wich is something i haven't seen in longer than what i haven't seem them
Another thing that i noticed since we split up is that they already made friends and obviously I didn't

When i was 15 i experienced a social trauma, my close friend wanted to take our relationship further and i didn't see it so she gave up on all of it. Thats where i started falling into the darkness, it took a year to fully develop and when it hit it hit hard. It was also a start of highschool so it made things even worse. Sucidal thoughts began to be a daily thing and so i sunk, thinking everyday how to end my life. My memories are blurred on how i managed to climb out, however the more years pass i feel that i never escaped it and it's slowly coming back to me.
I've denied all kinds of help many people offered me. I feel that only the same feeling that put me here can bring me out. And so i eternaly wait for that to happen. Maybe one day

Been an introvert all my school life and I can agree with everything this video has spoken of, I'm not interested in small talk and do not like going out of my way for that, yes I'm silent but I have a lot of stuff in my head going around which is why I find it easier to text instead of speaking, I've been trying to get better at talking with people who have the same interests as me on discord. I usually get caught into a wormhole and get depressed thinking if I'll be accepted into society with how I perform which ultimately demotivates me and my performance goes downhill altho I do not let it demotivate me toooo far down, it's consistent

I'm like. extremely late.
Hello, I am a hardcore introvert who was recently. well, diagnosed with depression.
this had happened from the amount of grief and mental abuse I struggled with in my lifetime
I had no one really to support me and no one understands how it feels to have this. wave of emotions and negative feelings running through your head a lot of the time.
I'm holding onto whatever positive feelings I can maintain and hopefully.
fight to smile for real again. I suffer with panic attacks, Insomnia, and anxiety, but the issue is just me trying to get better again.

I think introverts are more likely to surrender to self-critical thinking and more likely to develop inferiority complex.
I think extroverts are more likely to avoid their self-critical thinking and insecurities with distractions and that just causes other mental health issues like anxiety.
On the extreme end, extroverts use over-compensation to deal with self-doubt and insecurities. Which can result in superiority complex which is fake over-confidence, a facade.
We all deal with pain differently. But we're all in it together and should support one another

So how does one appear fine? I think I'm introverted. I'm quiet, reserved and as an adult deal with others who stereotype and others believing it; it hurts. I have PTSD too. Somedays I am fixated on whether I dress nice enough, or pretty enough, good enough so people leave me alone, or approach me in a positive way. ( it could be I live in a fat town made up of little towns.
Last night I went to therapy and was a little saddened, that to conclusion, avoidance is my only solution, along with breathing to calm down. Avoidance has taken over life to be safe.

I think that its an even amount. You make a good point on why introverts are more likely to be depressed, but I think since extroverts are just the same. Theyre more exposed to others negative comments. Thats how I came to be an introvert. I used to be an extrovert and all of the negative impact I was getting from the others around me tossed me into the hole of depression. I think the chances are the exact same for all personality types.

As an introvert. the answer is yes. for me depression is like my friend and also an enemy. always there. for me there's no cure for it cuz it's always there. depression also teach me a lot of things and became more mature and learn from mistakes. tbh I have depression since I was a kid. and now I'm immune to it, kinda. I just don't care about it anymore.

I like to myself i enjoy living alone when people come around me i feel i have to change because they try to change me. Im comfortable alone but at same time feel weird because i feel im the only one in my family or at my job and in neighborhood that craves to be alone

I am introvert and my friend are extrovert they always criticized me saying you are shy, you don't enjoy your life. In group talks i always end up being quite just making fake expression on face so I don't look weired to them. But deep down my it doesn't effect me much

I am an extreme introvert I always tend to get rid of people and want to be left alone even though I feel lonely sometimes but I am comfortable. I rather choose to feel lonely than being around people. I also daydream a lot. does this happen to all the introverts?

It just sucks that my parents hate me being an introvert I feel like I'm not accepted and they keep comparing me to my other cousins and I'm doin what they want, High grades, doing homeworks, but thier still angry at me because I'm not socializing

According to Big Five Personality Traits or OCEAN, introverts tend to be asocial, joyless, and self-loathing. That's why the Extroversion trait has facets having something to do with positive emotions, liveliness, and gregariousness.

I'm definitely an introvert, well, except when I'm around people I really trust. Some of my classmates have said to me they've never really heard my voice before because I'm so shy.
