Is music the most powerful way in which we express our personalities? Does our musical taste say more about who we really are than the clothes we wear or the friends we choose? The psychological effect of music on the human brain has been studied extensively But what does your musical taste say about you?

I must be complex because I like good country song. I also love a good pop song I dont mind a little bit of not have a mail, but rock dance music off punk theme for music even emo things music like I have a Lily for different stations on my Pandora basically work Punk and emo style music, young punk, radio punk, radio emo radio in Simple Plan radio on my Pandora and I think I have like five different country stations and like six different pop stations off my Pandora app. I listen to all of them in turn like almost equally and I do love ones with repetitive melodies and stuff. Oh I thought I just liked the repair of this because Id like knowing what to expect due to my autism and a lot of people with autism not all people on the autism spectrum both good portion of us do you like repetitive things so please and like that if youd like are, they would love for you to analyze that part of my brain if you can do better than any of the psychiatrist or psychologist ever seen in my life because I have seen a lot of mental health professionals and they havent fully understood how music affects me like that. Id like to see if you could figure it out. If you could prove all those mental health professionals in my life, Brian and see how you can come up with an answer I think itll be a fun little Soft Cell experiment actually

I have very strong opinions about music. I think people relate the most to the music they grew up with when they were teenagers. I love 60s music - especially British Invasion - because that was my era. But I also like music from the late 50s (especially the Everly Brothers) and a lot of music from the 80s. I dont care for most 70s music. There are a few artists from that decade I enjoy but for the most part, 70s music is pretty bad. Disco, Bread, the Carpenters abysmal. I like some classical music. Not a fan of opera but I like very sweeping, melodic pieces like Strauss waltzes. I discovered country music in 2000 and I like some of that genre. I dont like heavy metal or rap. They just sound like a bunch of noise to me. I play the guitar a little. I dont read music so anything Ive learned, I pretty much have learned by ear. Music has always been very important to me and still is.

Actually this video has no point aside from being pointless. Anyone looking for justifications to treat people different, based on different tastes of music and false expectations enhanced through nonsensical videos, will find it no matter what. Your music sucks, so you suck! Once you think someone sucks you may also believe anything this person likes must suck too. I've seen and heard these arguments so many times over the last three decades, it made me disbelieve that we as humans will ever evolve into something better.

I think rap has the stereotype it has because rap is one of the most popular genres, you see the most stylish and cool looking people and can slightly hear their rap through their headphones, so its the chain reaction of people listening to the same music so they can feel like that person. And also because of that it makes the person, who listens to rap feel more blended in with other people and nobody can in school can judge you almost ever if you listen to some form of modern day rap

I was raised listening to electronic music and my absolute favorite genres are drum and bass and reggae but I definitely like many types of music, from classical to 80s rock. Music is life! I love the shiver and the nostalgia is a sure thing! When you hear an old song from 20 years ago and you feel exactly like you did for the first time is priceless! I wonder how many songs can we remember throughout our lives

I listen 20th century musics or what the kids calling it today as the oldies but goodies. The Beatles, Queen, Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Air Supply and many more are my usual picks. I rarely listen to music that is modern because I cant understand what the song means. But still music is music, everyone has their own taste.

i seem to be attracted to music that is less known than others most often. It gives the sense of control and specialty, knowing there are very few other who also listen to the same artists/bands. Btw, one of those bands is, Valley Of Wolves. My favourite album is 'Outlaws'. My favourite song in that album is, also Outlaws'.

Bass has always had a place in my life. Be that the Bass being played in a jazz performance or the bass in a piece of trance music. What a profound thing to discover, right? Rumors have it that some people like rhythm or harmony too. And most people love al of those things with bass as well. Gosh forbid.

Idk In my experiences, when I was in my citys festival, random boys always harrased me when i was at pop songss stages like grab my butt, but when i was at the rock-metal stage. Me and a girl were headbanging and we accidentaly bumped at eachother and for apologize she gaved me a can of beer

Its possible to enjoy ALL music genres. All it takes is a bit more willingness to new experiences, and some exposure time to that music. Eventually youll grow an emotional connection to it via the memories that you make through experiences while its on (hopefully good experiences.

while watching this vid, i also decided to play some music that i like, war thunder's main menu music, i like the beats, the soft and the powerful ones, and as the name of the game suggests, it is a military sim, you can play as a navy, ground forces, or airplanes, so yeah
reply

most things played in the C minor scale. preferrably lyrically poetic, groovy, and with certain alternative sound, and a mad progression range. and a full groovy low-end since im a bassist myself. you can hear the harmonics but you feel the bass.

I listen to Historical music the most!
If it's not about a country, or a war, or an Ideology, or some other Historical or Political thing then i'm not listening.
Especially if it's about the Author's love life! I can't stand Romance.

I never liked rap tbh, but I like various OSTs, they are usually very well made by people who put emotions and meanings in them, no matter if instrumental or not.
For example Naruto or Undertale. Each song fits and tells a story.

When I was a kid, I used to love punk and rockabilly. So I wondered what would happen, if you combined the two.
So I discovered psychobilly, and I was hooked ever since (still love punk and rockabilly though)

I'd say most people like metal because it's awesome and we like cool stuff. From what I see most edgy/angsty and otherwise introverted people listen to alternative/indie or fairly melodramatic songs.

Personally, I can listen to anything while I work out as long as I like it. I could be doing the most intense, fast-paced workout in my life while listening to I'm Sorry, Boris by Wilbur Soot.

It is not that athletes like pumpupmusic. Athletes like music that drives them. Rumors have it some run like a rocket while listening to Mozart. So Mozart truly pumped up the jam.

yeah I only listen to one band and i feel safe that i know what i am listening to and i know it sounds good, and I hate changes and new opprtunities to it seems fitting

I listen to everything except opera. Mostly metal and new age type music. I can go from listening to Necrophagist to Tim Story in an instant.
reply

how about patriotic musics and national anthem like most North Korean do? Does it makes them patriotic? smarter? I'm curious about it!

reply

Says something positive about almost every music genre
Metal: You cant talk to people and are horribly depressed.
