I feel like I've been demotivated to do anything for more than 2 years now.
As a Background, I am working full time with on call duty which is every two weeks. Additionally to that I am going for my engineering degree, which consists of Saturday lessons and a lot of self learning.
As much as it sounds there is still a lot of free time each day that I should be able to use (Some people in my class are raising kids and still excel.
However, I always feel unmotivated to do anything. In the back of my head I'm telling myself that I should learn and watch out for deadlines. Another part of me wants Serotonin and fun but I forbid myself to play games, as I need to do something else first. This in turn makes me loose all interest in games.
Eventually I will simply endure the day, spend 5-6 hours doing nothing and will feel bad about having accomplished nothing at all. If people ask me for help I caught myself telling them that I have no time and need to learn for my exams, in reality I will spend these hours doing nothing. Even if I offer myself to play games, I don't want to anymore, I just feel too unmotivated to do it.
The only time I actually learn is at the end of the semester, when stress and fear of failing the exams rises up to a threshold where stress exceeds the demotivation. I feel sick of this happening over and over but can't seem to help and prevent it, albeit it seeming so easy.

This is actually me right now last day my mom scold me for not finishing my school works because I'm always in my phone she said if you want to stop highschool then go finishing your school work and get graduate and find a great job will help us. don't be so useless here in our house and when you find a job your the one will support your sister there's this a lot but I only want to ask to her is do you ever ask what's my dream job? You only want is for yourself. She thinks if I graduated it's now my responsibilities to take care of them they just me to have great job so we have lot of money but did she ever think if it makes me happy? Now I'm no longer motivated to finish my school works and plus I have to take care of my sister ( 3years old) I don't know what to feel anymore. the only reason why I'm always in the phone is because I'm trying to join in the audition where my dream is. I just don't know what to do anymore.

I've recently been feeling unmotivated, waking up feeling tired and not up for facing the day and being hard on myself for knowing what I should be doing but not having the effort to do it. While many of the reasons mentioned in this video can reflect on that, I believe now that the main reason is my brain getting accustomed to activities that releases high levels of dopamine (the desire hormone. Which is why I started a new mood journal, listing all the activities I complete each day that release low levels of dopamine. Whether it be simply getting dressed, making the bed or just brushing my teeth. Anything I can do before doing any of the high dopamine activities makes me feel more satisfied and like I've actually earned the desirable activities at the end of the day!

Thanks very much, PsychToGo. Your videos are always a blessing to watch, especially when depression episodes like to kick in my life. Been struggling with depression for about 12 years now (started with 16, now Im 28. I was always put down as being lazy, even though I was overwealmed with everything. Right now, Im struggling to figure out what I TRULY want in life - If anything I did over the years was actually worth it
Im lost and still trying to find my way. But I hope for others that they can find their way in life. For anyone who reads this: You are worth it, I believe in you that you can achieve your goals and find happiness in life. Im proud of you for everything you have accomplished so far.

I realise that number one is really me. Sometimes im so grateful for having flexible job. But, i just feel in wrong circle. Almost all the time they won't talk to me or if any information they don't want share with me. I dont know is it just me or not. Like i always approach them. I feel lonely. If im not doing they expectation, they will really dissapointed. Like i always something wrong to them. Coz my colleagueses is my fam too(not all of them, my other family always say why you cannot like her? She always like this. bla. bla. bla. and i just smile to them. Just being nice. And hurt inside. I dont know what am i talking about, but if you read this. Im sorry i waste your time.

I enjoy watching your videos and they help me feel better.
However, I am a bit lost at the moment: I signed up for a part-time graduate diploma in AI because I wanted to, hopefully, be in an IT field and have better job prospects.
However, I realized I might have bitten more than I could chew: the programme is very technical and requires people to have a background in software programming, which I dont have. And it has affected my performance in the programme.
I am not sure what to do: should I just accept defeat and walk away, or just press on regardless?
Seeking advice.

I don't vent in public often. but this has been one of my hugest problems.
I relate to so many of these problems and on top of all that, I have ADHD and clinical depression.
I've gotten (and still get) so angry at myself when I can't make myself do something I used to do and love or to do something new and scary, including bettering my mental health. Almost anything that requires a lot of work either loses my interest or I get overwhelmed and discouraged no matter how I look at it
It feels so horrible being trapped in your own mind like that.

I am 22 years old student, and past two years I was really struggling. A year ago I started using Forwago, and their personalized plans helped me a lot. I eat healthier, even started to workout, it helped me build my self-confidence, and maybe the best thing I started my small online business. It is nothing special, but it is nice to earn some money. And I am still making the progress. Take care of yourself and start building the life of your dreams. Everybody is capable of achieving their dreams.

It seems is my fault too for this demotivation: it began when my health started decreasing in the end of June, so even if I feel improved in my life, I'm still very afraid of failure.
That's because I felt like taking a challenge, so I started working while finishing preparing my exam project.
I'm doing more or less fine objectively speaking, though the fact that when I solve a problem something else pops up sometimes it tears me down, so I begin procrastinating.

0: 35 friend poster and a cup I believe may be referencing Charlie slimecicle
1: 09 disc saga poster
3: 31 Idk but the goggles are reminiscent of gogy
4: 57 reminiscent of Phil and (maybe) Kristen
You can also see a Dream blob, part of the L'Manburg flag and a Minecraft grass block & bee (possible references to Tubbo & Ranboo) in the thumbnail
That's all I caught but let me know if you notice anything else!

turns out im literally just lazy ig TvT i don't want to do work because i either think it takes too long or is too hard, even though when i do the work it just takes a few minutes. its hard for me not to get overwhelmed by even the idea of brushing my teeth or taking a shower. it makes me sad that my grades are dropping so heavily from no homework being turned in. TvT

I was really struggling with my self-confidence. The way I changed this is through trying to convince myself that I can do everything and making small things on my personal progress. Every little change you achieve will boost your confidence. Kind of a virtuous circle! The one thing that really helped me to do so was Forwago and I am so thankful because I found about it.

This is kind of a hug, literally everything i wanna do in life is big, and it is complicated and that literally overwhelms me since i've been a loser untill i said stop, i'm in transition between a boy and a man and it is hard, but the rewards are incredible.

For me it always feels like I'm never doing enough, that I'M not good enough. It feels overwelming when I have no idea what I really want. The best way to explain it is, it feels like I'm walking through a dark tunnel but I can't see the end of it. No matter how much I move forward it always feels like I'm stuck in this tunnel forever.

I think right I'm gonna do this task today, then get up and feel instantly tired and lack the energy. So I sit on the sofa making a list of to do's, then fall asleep. Do this when I get back from work and even the week end. I then get low in myself and start thinking negatively, that I'm lazy.

Unmotivation can be very dangerous. You got to try to get out of that state asap because it can lead to depression very easily. Im recovering from depression and its very hard for me to do work. But I do it because Ik its better than doing nothing, and these little steps will help me grow.

Its weird I just realized I think I dont have control over my life. But that it is still my fault. Not that I am responsible of everything. Maybe most. But that the things that happen to me that are out of my hands are still because of me. I did not realize that until now.

i wish i could know this sooner.
I waste 10 years of my life only by
set a wrong-type-of-goal.
But from now, I will set a small
but happy type of goal.
And i'll enjoy doing it everyday.
Thank you very much Pschy2go!

Failure is the biggest factor atleast for me. If ino ow even tho intrude my best if I don't get any results, I just give up. But at this point I just don't care. Strange thing is, I kind of like it in a wired way.
