Here are 5 signs you're actually an introvert:
You find small talk incredibly cumbersome.
You enjoy spending time by yourself.
You have a small group of close friends.
People may find it difficult to get to know you.
Too much stimulation leaves you feeling drained.
Introverts are often misunderstood. They're not shy or antisocial, they simply prefer to spend their time in different ways. If you identify with any of the signs above, you may be an introvert. And that's perfectly okay! Introverts have many strengths, including being thoughtful, creative, and independent. So embrace your introversion and don't let anyone tell you that you're doing it wrong.
Here are some additional signs that you may be an introvert:
You prefer to listen rather than talk.
You need time to recharge after social interactions.
You find large groups of people overwhelming.
You prefer to work alone or in small groups.
You are easily overstimulated by noise, light, and activity.
If you identify with most of these signs, you are likely an introvert. There is nothing wrong with being an introvert. In fact, there are many benefits to being an introvert. Introverts are often more thoughtful, creative, and independent than extroverts. They are also better at focusing and concentrating. If you are an introvert, embrace your personality type and don't let anyone tell you that you're doing it wrong.

Funny, Every single sign of being an introvert instead of being shy I can relate to, I struggle with small talk, but when I do get into conversations they are long, deep, and drawn out. I hate being in large crowds of people for long periods of time, in fact, doing this at high enough volumes causes me to have an emotional kind of panic-attack, where all of my emotional control gets thrown out the window! I also struggle to find friends and struggle even more to keep them for longer periods of time. I like to stay home more than I do going out, but I still go out every now and then so I dont become starved of social contact, and staying home alone is how I recharge my battery. Lastly I very easily get distracted, mainly from ADHD, but whenever I am alone usually around bedtime or when there is absolutely NO ONE HOME, not even my PARENTS, I let my imagination run wild, heck, I have created a fictional timeline of situations that come from only my own imagination that has so many characters and locations, they are all usually sci-fi, and I can turn basically anything that comes to my mind into a full fledged story that connects with the other things I came up with in some way and keep it up for potentially hours on end! Which I am proud of as I think that is a skill that I have, an endless imagination.

So I really am an introvert? I can relate to all of these. There are also a few times wherein my classmates ask me if I'm an introvert and no, I didn't think I was so I just reply them with heh. It's not that I'm saving my energy for other things but rather, I do not know what to say.
I also noticed that I have a hard time dealing with energetic or very extroverted people.
I have this veeeeerrryyyy extroverted classmate and whenever she starts talking to me, it gets really uncomfortable because she just keeps on talking and talking about her self like her crushes and stuff like that.
In most cases, I don't really understand what she's talking about because I just ignore her and just go. Yeah Heh Hmh Hmm I know right? Right Haha True Hehe Aha or just show her an exaggerated facial expression '
Maybe it's because of my introverted self that I am able to create stories for myself?

i wanna make it big but you have to have connections with people, but in order to make those connections with people you to be social & stuff, but in order to be social you need experience on how to be a peoples person, & although i have a job where you have to talk to lots of customers. its still hard to keep a conversation going or even to ask how was ones day, sorry im getting off topic i think. well anyway yeah its hard to blow up on social media or make friends in real life because i dont know what people want or like. you know? im usually at home on the game, making music or writing stories where its safe i guess, or idk

Both. I was bullied as a kid, so I have low self esteem. Which causes me to be hessitant to interact socially. But, also an introvert. NOT good at small talk and frankly find it BORING. I never know what to say to a stranger. When I was in school, if the lecture got boring, I would start doodling. I was still listening, but frequently would say to myself, Boring. I also HATE long winded stories. Get to the point. I had a friend a long time ago who told me my biggest problem is that I think too much. That I over analyze everything.

But what if I'm introvert and shy i just feel like i can't talk with people and I don't have anything in common with them, the things that I like are very different and that's why I don't have friends. I just feel comfortable with my mom and my sister because I've been living with them since forever lol, but I would like to feel comfortable like that with other people: (

Definitely an introvert. I have little to no energy outside my house. Im just, there. I entertain myself quite often and tend to daydream. I get easily drained from just small parties. Being alone gives relief and I feel like I can actually relax. I have so much more energy when alone, but when with people, I have little energy and look dazed.

100% introvert here. Small talk feels like word vomit sometimes. I like new interesting conversation not the same run of the mill garbage we've all heard 100 times. I can recall hearing guys talking about the weather once and just thinking how utterly bland it sounded. I'll never understand how some phrases are worth the effort.

to be onest i like it often more to be alone whit my toughts than being whit a group of friends (still like to be whit my friends dont worry about that) but in my toughts i have made a whole world where i can go on adventures and everything. i think i have made that world in my head from about the age of 5 maybe 6 im now 21

I'm super introvert, and I feel so relief after hearing introvert not shy. Most people think I'm shy but that's not the truth I have confident to speak and do much more things, it's just I don't like doing it, only when I'm in a mode. I love thinking. I'm always in my own world and I love spending most of the time alone.

6/6, feels good to actually know I'm an introvert, and to know that my friends know this as well. And I cannot stress enough, how difficult it is to keep a small talk, and honestly, I enjoy writing way more than talking. But when it's with my closest friends I can actually just talk about anything.

As someone who is told on a daily by my family that I NEED to get out of my room more. I can confirm that small talk is not my best suit which makes it hard to connect with people both in person and online bc its like when you get ready to talk at the last minute you realize your brain is blank

You could say I'm shy in school because I zone out a lot in class and I need to ask people around for info about things I missed. But in general, I'm VERY introverted. The only person Im an extrovert to is my bestie she's been there for me for 3 years and she knows me 2x more than my family

So uh theres this guy I talk to ALOT and most of my classmates think I like him. When in reality I dont and when I first met him I said things like hi and stuff didnt really know what to say but now I talk to him a lot more and then started saying I was a little bit annoying lol

Small talk is worse then eye contact. And as someone with ASD and ADHD I hate making eye contact or holding eye contact literally been a year since I made eye contact for more then 5 seconds. So yeah if I hate something more then eye contact it means I hate it.

shyness is part of being an introvert. In fact, if you look up introvert it says a shy person. why are you trying to separate the two? i get tired of everyone trying to label everything all the time with THEIR labels and how everything should fit into them.
reply

I'm an introvert but my class has made me unable to feel drained when there is too much noise, they scream and talk all the time without a reason so ihave to mute them completely to think oftenly distracting my self from class
reply

all these point are accurate, i just commented in your quiz video about how i am completely different when people talk about topics i like. but those also start when they try to talk with me while i am pondering about things
reply

Small talk one and few friends definitely fits me. Due to me having a lack of interest in other peoples lives I usually dont know what my friends are talking about and that led me to gain a disinterest in small talk as well.
reply

I've always thought that being shy was just a part of being an introvert, but, after watching this video, I see that's not the case. That being said, I still think I'd say I'm a shy introvert, as I've always been.
reply

I usually have to present myself as shy since most people don't know the difference. It works since it cuts small talks but also makes it a bit harder to meet new people.
reply

Miss phsyc2go I have question, everything you said in this video matched me but people think that i am an extrovert please help me i dont know what to say to themm
reply

Being called shy when in fact you are an introvert is still the better option. There are also labels like weird or aloof that are used to describe us instead.
reply

I do relate to most of the points but my friend Chirath, was the only introvert among introverts that I know of, who is related to every point out there.
reply

Thank the lord cuz this is the first time in my life I've heard that people know we're sometimes running scenarios in our heads. Finally, people know. 3: 58
