I actually teared up either because I relate to most of them or I'm sensitive at night (cos I'm watching this almost 10PM) or both.
What I really relate to are:
2. Your trauma makes you think you're damaged.
4. You think your trauma or mistakes are what keeps others from loving you.
6. You think your trauma makes you feel less worthy.
I don't remember what happened when I was a child that lead me to be. the good girl type. You know, rarelly getting scolded because I'm doing what I'm suppose to do. It didn't bother me from what I remember maybe because I seen it as normal. I'm actually an average person academically but I used to be one of the top students when I was in 1st to 2nd grade. When 3rd grade came, I remember I got traumatized by my teacher. From what I can remember, she scolded me or just made a big deal of the mistake I made that any student can make. I remember feeling humiliated and embarassed. My older sister was a grade A student since kindergarden until she graduated from college. I'm the 2nd child. So the pressure to be on her level was real. Anyways, some of my grades went downhill from then that's why I was placed in the last section on 4th grade. In 5th grade, their was an individual oral test we have to do. I remember feeling confident because it was my favorite subject. When I was done and sat on my chair, I suddenly felt. guilty. Like, Was I supposed to do my best? was the question I asked myself. I remember also acknowledging my older sister should be the smart one and I should just be average, lay low and just be. a good girl. I actually still carry that to this day. I'm 27 now. When people recognize my work or what I can do, I feel like I wanna crawl back to my shell. It's also not easy for me to take compliments. I accept it to be polite and not make people worry but inside, I felt like I shouldn't have showed what I'm capable of.
Anyways, there are other things that happened that traumatized me. It wasn't like a huge accident or abuse like other people have experienced.
Wait. I'm looking down on my own traumatic experiences again. but anyways, I'm still in the process of healing. I'm trying but it's actually hard. I don't have like a support group or even went to a professional. My country is not very vocal about mental health. When you seek help, people would assume you're mentally unstable like someone who actually need to be taken care of including their basic activities.
Imagine building a very solid wall since you were a child. No one can get in unless the wall soften itself. You yourself wanna get out when you see something that made you feel happy. So, you tried getting out but felt the cold chain on your arms and legs that is attached to your own wall preventing you from reaching it.

Except 4 and 6, the rest hits home quite deep. literally wording life experiences that left me several traumas since i was a child to a fully grown adult.
I seeked professional help several times when i was younger back in highschool and college but none of them help me at all. As a result i had to self-analize my mental health and go on dailly controlled rage bursts, isolating myself and going on meditation for hours so i could control my emotions and keep composture through my dailly routines, responsabilities and social life. (I have been doing this process since i was 8 though, so i have mastered it and got to know my inner self very well.
Took me alot of years to heal up and become emotionable stable all by myself, allthough i still carry on a couple of issues like for me is difficult to fully trust on someone, and the fact that i literally cant cry, i can barely feel pain anymore (emtionally speaking, not sure if this is something positive in my life, but thanks to this i can move on very quickly from any harm done to me.
And well, thanks for making this video, it has made me aware of some mistakes i have been doing for alot of years. Like carrying some burdens that i shouldnt, because i had a wrong idea of responsabilty with myself, basically, being too rough/strict on my self.

I haven't seen my dad since September 2010, and then in October 2011, my mom broke it to me he left us.
My life was NEVER the same since then!
For that, despite my consideration, service, and generosity, I barely know what love really is, and I can't have a confident relationship with men. And since sonetimes I have a terrible time expressing my feelings, especially with my mother dismissing and demeaning my germophobia and my paranoia, and overly criticizing me (sometimes harshly, and because I have Asperger's Syndrome (a high-functioning autism, depression, anxiety, some OCD, and maybe ADHD, I doubt I can have a perfect relationship with people IN GENERAL! I question if people are unfair to me or if it's just me.
When I fight or have an intense moment with someone, I feel that person doesn't really like me anymore.

I was hit in the head with the handle of a cane. Resulting in a minor skull fracture.
At the age of 72.
He was a, Narcissist who developed Frontal Temporal Dementia.
I know live in an Assisted Living Facility, that I have no real need for. I lost everything I cared about to be safe.
This was 4 years ago.
I have rebuilt a lot of my life. He died a bit over a year ago. And many nightmares phased out. I have replaced many things, gotten another cat and I am functioning far better. But, being in an environment with so many with cognitive decline and not having such is difficult.
I have severe osteoporosis, but could manage on my own with minimal help.
I tend to go back to my
hatred of him, and self blame for not ending the relationship when I should have.

This was right on the money for me. I never really thought about what it was that was holding me back until I clicked on this video. I know Im not alone, but sometimes I feel stuck and Im not really sure where to start in terms of the healing process. I cant even pinpoint when I started feeling negatively toward myself or what even caused it. Its very frustrating. Im exhausted, and honestly not allowing myself to feel anything. I cant tell you how long it took for me to even realize that about myself. Im hoping that this is at least the start of me taking a step in a different direction. Because even though I dont know anyone here, I was finally able to get this off of my chest. I wish you all a happy new year and I want you all to know that youre all incredible.

I was remembering a character I grew to love so much got killed off last September (his name was Axol) and it's been a while since I felt anything about him until now.
I'm mostly just crying after thinking about him right now.
sometimes when I mourn about him I mumble to myself into sounding like an OC character I made who loved Axol like a Dad
A baby octoling dragon who was Jurassic Park made is just a baby and she misses her father so much.
She's been trying to get through and be there for her mother Meggy, her aunts and uncles, her best friend Jub Jub and her younger brother Aiden
(Aiden is quite important because he's a Jurassic clone of Axol and was born after the tragic)

I'm sorry if I comment this under a video but I really can't find anything just by looking online and since I am a fan of Psych2Go I know that people who watch these videos are quite nice with each other, I wanted to ask if someone knows if I can talk with someone to have a good mental analysis since I think I may have depression since I find myself in every single video Psych2Go does about depression (I know that ot doesn't mean that I have it, for this reason I'm asking) sorry for the trouble if someone reads this
Ps. I'm very young so I can't go to a therapist without making my mother worry or use apps where you can talk with someome for a free session if you're 18+

My parents caused me a lot of stress and anxiety and by parents I mean my mother the way she would speak was the same voice she would yell at me in and she would do it often for little things with severe consequences for example forgetting to start the dishwasher once takes away my phone for a week didnt trust her because of the way she acted and I became secretive and my anxiety had been increased Ive always had social anxiety ever since I could remember but yeah sorry for bothering you

SHAKE THAT SHAME OFF OF YOURSELF!
WE tend to be the ones that are the most hard on ourselves for different circumstances or shortcomings in life. It is so vital to remember that YOU ARE NOT your circumstances or mistakes! You are so much more than that. If anyone is struggling with mental health in these comments, please reach out to me if you need anything. YOU ARE LOVED!
Thank you Psych2Go for bringing the much needed mental health awareness and help into our lives!

i have trauma of being abused before i got a real family and was adopted. I was called a mistake because i have autism, i was beaten, and other horrible things were done, i was called a mistake, and other horrible names.
But luckily my new family loves me and doesnt mind i have autism. Although i am mentally scarred, i had a phone because i needed it for communication according to my abusive parents, but i used it to arrest them for the horrible deeds they did

I absolutely feel 1&2. I had a relationship where I was head over heels in love with a narcissist. and he left me. Made me feel like shit. Said things that to this day still effect everything. (2) has been a major one the last few years. constantly feeling like my fiance deserves so much better. We're both traumatized, damaged, running on non-standard mental OS. Trauma paired with being neuro-atypical is a deadly mix for either party: /

I've noticed that my overwhelming grief has to some extent been replaced by feeling shame for everything I let those things happen to me. The violence. The financial exploitation. The degrading treatment. The verbal abuse. I feel ashamed.
Your videos seem to some extent directed at young people. I'm 66. But I recognized myself in this one anyway. Thank you for trying to bring people healing and compassion.

1. You are defined by past.
2. Your trauma makes you think you are damaged.
3. You think you have to carry the shame of your mistakes.
4. You think your trauma and mistakes are something that keeps you unloved
5. You think what happened to you will dictate your future.
6. You think your trauma makes you less worthy.

reply

For better or for worse, the hardships and traumas I've had throughout life have formed me into who I am, so in a way yes, I AM defined by my past. And I wouldn't change a thing about it, because if I did, I wouldn't be the person I am today. It's pretty much what Illidan said to the Naaru I AM my scars!

I dont feel safe mentally at my house with my mom and her boyfriend and I always hide how I feel and when i came out as part of the LGBTQ community my whole family has been completely judging me and controlling my life and now I only feel comfortable around my aunt, brother, sister, and girlfriend

I spent my entire life inside a traumatic situation, and once I got out a lot of people actively worked to try sabotage my escape. I am nothing except that traumatic event and the fallout of escaping it. On what logical measure am I not defined by my entire life? There was no 'me before', I was born into it.

I believe them all. I experienced twice. But two different things. It happened in middle school. I got hit by a basketball on the head. And since that day I always flinch, when I see a ball near me. And for the time I got my heartbroken. It has been 4 years since this happen.

In America it's normal to start males off at life with major trauma, and anyone who objects is told they hate women. Disgusting culture. Hilariously though you Americans believe in Blood and Soil and other extremist ideologies, which is why you believe in historical trauma.
reply

What if you don't know how to move on. What if you spent your life trying to be what you thought others wanted you to be. And now you can't even find yourself, between trying so hard to be what you think they want you to be, somewhere in the mix I lost myself?
reply

hey, can you answe something?
This just happened.
I threw water in my mouse for the 4th and broke it and i got really anxious, i wanted pull off my skin. Idk why, tiny problems have been big problems to me, idk why.
I am just dramatic?

reply

I want to be the girl I was before I met him. During and after him, I've had several mental problems. Still do. I seem to only want to be friends with people who have been through stuff. People who have not don't seem real enough or can't get me.
reply

Let me say something. You are not broken, you are not weak, you are not useless, you are not hated, you are not oversensitive, you are not damaged, you are not a bad person. You are needed, worthy of live, and deserve a big ol hug.

To be honest, I would rather be very much alone than be with others (apart from people like my bestie) because, my friends and family are the main reason I cry everyday and go through emotional breakdowns and stuff like that
reply

There are different types of trauma. B type trauma are the bad things (B for bad) that happen to you. But there is also A type trauma that is the absense of the good and developmental things that you need (A for absense.
