What If We Destroyed the Moon?

What If We Destroyed the Moon?

What If We Destroyed the Moon? It may not cause an instant apocalypse, but theres also the potentialy that, depending on how the moon was destroyed, the majority of matter does fall fairly quickly into the atmosphere, which would then lead to severe friction, rapid heating of the particles and therein the atmosphere as well, and so global temperatures would rise a fair bit. The low end of this would be lots of ice melt, and rising sea levels, potentially with the methane release and runaway greenhouse gas chain, but at the high end it would be akin to the aftermath of KT minus the shockwave and crater, with most plantlife being incinerated, oxygen levels plummeting and mass extinctions anyway, all within a matter of weeks, potentially. Plus, even if most missed, the new continent of antartica opened up would be uninhabitable for a while as it would be months focused close to the sun, potentially, and with the magnetic poles and how the aurorae work, it would basically be a hotbed of melanoma.

It's amazing how little the universe cares about what we do yet we often take ourselves so seriously like what we do is actually going to mean anything in the grand scheme of things, all the crimes we've committed, all the people we've killed, all the animals we've drove to extinction and the universe is still infinitly more powerful than we ever will be, all it'll take is one little scope of bad luck to completely destroy us, yet we walk around like we own everything and are untouchable.

I know this has been said but at least is not as bad as i expected, I just had a nightmare about the moon suddenly getting detonated, and a few seconds after that, what looked like a nuclear explosion mushroom appeared right in front of everyone, and then it was all dark.
I assume what happened is that a giant moon shard fell to the earth and just like a meteorite, it caused the entire place to be wiped out.

I don't think human s can do that it's God's creation not human beings creation buy the how do you know if they destroy Ed the moon it could kill human beings on earth you for hot the moon is a satellite to the earth the moon and earth are in a certain creationode for earth and moon think all the things the moon does with the earth there's a long list of things the earth does with the moon

Blowing up the moon is effectivly impossible.
The moon is 1/6th the size of the earth.
Thats rediculously big!
It also makes it the 3rd largest moon in the entire solar system, the two bigger ones only beating it by a few dozend km.
And our moon is bigger the Pluto.
This moon is so unique, it might just be one of the many key reasons why life exists.

You can-t even destroy earth with all the weapons you have you could probably destroy life but not all will die life will eventually return and the planet will still be here and about the moon just look at all those craters on the moon they-re bigger than any nuclear weapon will ever be able to make and the moon is intact keep on dreaming
reply

Go ahead and guess what you we'll probably kill homo sapiens also the moon and earth are stable moon is a satellite to earth people earth the moon are stable if you could destroy the moon everything about earth and moon would get unstable Homo sapiens would get unstable without moon and earth
reply

You completely ignore the several species that would die out rather quickly if there was no moon. There are a number of animals whose reproductive cycles are tied to the moon in one way or another; most of them would not have time to adapt, and would die off.
Not to mention were-beasts. -

I mean the Moon was made by our planet being destroyed by its sister planet. So if we destroy Moon we destroy something that was part of Earth and we will freaking die. So plz human go on. Do it. I dare u I millennially dare you!
reply

The water would stop cycling and the earth would die if you destroyed the moon, stop coming up with destructive ideas -the government needs to stop with thier rediculous ways to waste time money & resources-
reply

The moon also helps a lot with protection from asteroids and meteorites.
Its large and heavy enough to exert a rather large gravity field to redirect asteroids and meteors away from earth.

reply

Btw if we destroy the moon. Wont it shoot down tiny meteors at us? where are all the moon stones gonna go u think? it will be like when Thanos shoot down a moon on Iron man.
reply

Leave the moon alone, it's just minding it's own business and there's nothing wrong with a little night light in the sky. Lets get rid of trump instead.
reply

Them: It would take a a billion times more times of the power the current world has to destroy it:
Kori sensei: Guess im billion times nuclear power

reply

It affects currents on Earth. It'd be unforgivable and impossible to correct insanity for humanity. Total wipe out extinctions. It's all not toys.
reply

The moon is slowly slipping away from us at a few cm/ year. Eventually it will head out on its own way. Each night, I go out and wave bye to the moon.
reply

And I thought that if we destroy moon then earth will face a huge tsunami as there is a gravitational connection between ocean and moon.
reply

Then we wouldn-t be in infinite tsukuyomi anymore, the reptilians built that shit to put us in a matrix dream so we won-t see reality
reply

I-m honestly kind of leaning towards the let-s blow it up side. Really digging the Saturn like rings thing and seeing more stars at night.
reply

It-s not possible and a waste of time-. I call click bait for the unaware and challenge the author to do something better with his life!
reply

If we destroy the moon we all die! The moon gives us climate and habitats without it everyone dies! I-ve studied about this
reply

If there is no moon, humans will extinct on earth. Because moons cycle is directly related to female menstrual cycle.
reply

There would be no more tides and major ocean currents, this would change the world forever and probably destroy much life.
