A Plane's Roof Blew Off at 24, 000 Feet. Here's What Happened Next An often overlooked item about this flight is that, in addition to the crew and passengers, there was an FAA Air Traffic Controller on board on a -Familiarization Flight-, he was seated in the observer jumpseat. The jumpseat on a B737 consists of a seat bottom that folds down from the side of the cockpit entryway, and the back of the seat is the cockpit door. So when the pilot and co-pilot heard a loud noise, and turned around to see that the cockpit door was gone, along with a large portion of the upper fuselage, there was also a pretty terrified ATC holding on for dear life in that view, as well.

Imagine going through an experience of being in a plane and watching your off brand wine fly into the sky along with the girl that was handing it to you and then having your face sliced open by flying jagged metal pieces with the thought you were going to die then actually land and instead of an ambulance you carried away in a pink bus with tropical flower decor in it

-Nothing unusual was noted during the pre-departure inspection-. Yes and no. There was a lady passenger that has observed a tiny crack just around the door's frame but she was too shy to speak out loud about it. Now she has to live for the rest of her life with the guilt of having that flight attendant's death on her conscience. Poor lady.

To make 89680 flights in 19 years it would have had to avg 13 flights a day, every day, for that entire 19 years. To someone completely inexperienced with aviation, that seems. really high to me. is that normal? With boarding and disembarking times, waiting and such, not even counting maintenance times, that seems. improbable.

This reminds me of a disaster movie I once saw. The roof of an airplane was also torn off during the flight. Only that the plane at the time, as far as I can remember, flew over the Andes, the plane had to make an emergency landing in the mountains and the survivors were exposed to the freezing cold, avalanches, etc.

I don't know why people are always so terrified of flying in planes. Ignoring the low risk level when compared to many other daily activities, if you're going to die, falling out of the sky and crashing into the ground sounds like a pretty decent way to go. As long as you get a window seat

I remember in cost accounting class that when you allocate costs of a plane you don't go by flight hours, you go by number of flights which is more relevant because pressurization is tougher on a plane than time in the sky.

Absolutely love your videos man been watching a shit tone lately! Only criticism is I don-t think the music was overly appropriate during the sections where you talked about how someone got sucked out and other got sliced lol

. So, I've just spent the last 7minutes 37 seconds watching an advertisement for a website called -Brilliant-. Great that's 7minutes & 37 seconds wasted. Thanks! If I wanted to learn something I'd read a book on how to.

Video said that the flight attendant-s body was never discovered, but that-s not entirely true. Her head was lodged into the side of the plane while the rest of her has never been found.

You should have taken the sensitivity course. That music is horrendous for this video. Did you not watch it and think -this is absurd- when the stewardess goes flying out? w tee ef

Imagine being the person that the flight attendant was serving drinks to. Just visualize a person right in front of you, and then a second later get ripped off of their feet.
reply

i just came here for the hysterical video preview where the flight attendant loses her hat and luggage and is promptly yeeted out of the plane at warp speed
reply

im watching this because of those who rode on the wings of the plane flying to us from Afghanistan. does this mean they actually had a chance to survive
reply

I thought you just made a quick graphic to at least have some kind of visual during narration, but nope, that's exactly what it looked like. Fck.

_-A roof blowing off from an airplane is very dangerous. However, thanks to Brilliant, situations like this can easily be avoided. -_

If you got ripped out of a plane would you instantly pass out or would you have the fall time to realize what happens?
reply

That guy who was just looking out the window:
Uh, why can I see a lot more, wait, what happened to the roof?

reply

I'd imagine falling out of a plane really puts life in perspective. The survivors are probably pretty down to Earth
reply

So i really like these vids but i cant watch this lol bc tomorrow im going on a flight and now im terrified xd
reply

No mention of black outs from the sudden exposure to the bare oxygen at 24, 000 feet with no oxygen masks available?
reply

Hey' what's this button marked c do? Oh' never mind. Must of had bonny and rc from night rider, work on the plane.

All i can hear is -in the unlikely event of a change in cabin pressure.

still sad one died, it wouldve been a perfect survival story if all souls on plane made it out, sigh bruh
reply

reply
