Why Haiti is Dying & the DR is Booming Amazing doc. This perfectly captures the history of both countries, especially Haiti. The most damning part about all this is the coup on the President who demanded reparations. I never knew that part of the history. As a Jamaican I also think its important to know the history of our neighbors, especially considering we're only 550km from Haiti. Haitian migrant boats have been turning up on our shores more frequently nowadays. We try to be sympathetic but every time we give shelter to them more boats show up and we have no idea who are criminals or traffickers.
The USA and France need to pay for what they did to the Haitian people.

I have seen people claiming that the African-run countries in the Caribbean are more successful in the way they sought to defend for Haiti's failure. Yet they completely ignore one thing: size matter.
The Caribbean countries are very small, they are mostly island-states, and also they have very little population, plus these governments, ever since independence or partially independent, have largely practised pragmatic policies to ensure economic growth. It's best to look at Bermuda, the richest nation in the Caribbean, but with only no more than 65, 000 people inhabiting, majority of them of African origins. This meant comparing to other countries like Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Honduras are insane since Bermuda is basically just a town for others. Simultaneously, Bermuda, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, etc, are not big nor even populous to mention over.
Haiti has far larger territorial landscape, far more populous and is also considered the most African nation in the Western Hemisphere, and given its history of mismanagement, it has to endure what it is today, yet its African heritage is far more relevant than those in the Caribbean ones, making comparison toward other poor nations of Africa like Mali, Togo, Burundi and Somalia possible. One of the most fascinating fact is Haiti has tried (unsuccessfully) to become member of the African Union out of desperation that the fellow Latin American nations don't respect them.

17: 36 This makes me feel like Haitians are owed US citizenship or French citizenship? That's crazy. This is history and they just want to pretend like I didn't happen. Yep.
28: 02 Yeah, the story about the guy being forced into exile. I believe it. Our country has been destabilizing the rest of America and purposely trying to keep the Arabic nations disabled. This is how you maintain power. Keep them fighting. Make sure that they don't flip to the communism and make sure they never become a threat to us. No matter what rights we get in this nation, no matter what our leaders say they're going to do. These are their three main goals leading to the ultimate The USA must maintain power at all costs. And the least amount of players in the game the better. But they will also choose those of European descent over the rest of the world. The rest of us who reside in these western nations are essentially just along for the ride

A unified Caribbean means a unified Latin America and unified Africa. Haitians are not french. Dominicans are not spanish. The President of Haiti notably rejected the health recommendations made by the W. H. O and was later assassinated. Now they want to use the instability caused by that act to justify another occupation through the U. N. which will give the U. N precedence to enter other nations in the future and override the sovereignty of the people of and in that land. Also, contrasting and comparing the two nations on the island is a common technique used to divide/foment conflict and make joint cooperation more difficult, as a Dominican American I'd like to see the narrative framed like that less. Those who can see, will see.

Are you Haitian? What's your interest in Haiti? Are you gloating that you have turned their world into HELL. You are fully aware of the cause and effect of what's happening in Haiti! To you and everyone else that watches this video and gloat, In the name of EXIST (Father of my fathers, the ECCE ISTE, creator of Existence, please forgive our trespass against you and strike our enemies) the fire that burn in our family in Haiti will burn in your own immediate families, your very lives will be a living hell, until you make another video professing with your mouth that your intent for this very video was malicious in nature. You will have no sleep, no peace, until you are no more. MAY EXIST executes my words.

It s literally almost impossible for Haiti to thrive in a world where nations gang up on this one nation just to make sure they never get powerful. The dr is a buffer nation, the dr is only more wealthier bc they are as a whole are mentally more defeated and weaker as independent nation in the fight against colonialism. In this day in age if you stand up against evil you get targeted by bigger nations. The Dominicans are a defeated nation from a colonial perspective and is fully dependent on maintaining good relationships with the United States bc they couldn t thrive without those nations alliances.

I learned a lot about the mess that is Haiti. France, in its ex colonial empire, has behaved just like the US in Central and South America. For more details on France's behavior in Africa, look up Francafrique and an important french political broker in Africa, Jacques Foccard. The US and France have both supported dictators to access natural resources and cheap labour. It is easier to bribe one dictator than to pay a fair price for said resources. The inheritance of this is political instability, anarchy, violence, and mass migration. Our immigration problems stem in part from this legacy.

Funny how history changes. Back when both were under foreign rule Santo Domingo which became the DR for a time looked at St. Domingue (haiti) as a thriving colony that they wished to imitate. Things have obviously changed after Trujillo's reign. Obviously he was a dictator but he sure as hell got some stuff in order for the DR to become what it is today unlike Haiti. When you think of the DR, you think gorgeous babes and a vacation spot. When you think about Haiti, you think shit hole, gangs, murder and earthquakes. YET their on the same piece of land hahah.

Naah the title of this video is misplaced Dominican Republic is in fact just Haiti but split into two parts by racism where Haiti was destroyed by the US and France. The world views Haiti from a Western point of view, but we have to dig deep into the history of Haiti. You will discover that Haiti itself is not to blame for the situation there, but the West such as the US and France. many forget that France never recovered from the humiliation and loss of the Napoleonic army (then the world power) against Haiti in 1804, which still deeply affects

stop whining. The Japan was devastated after the war and it is now one of the Dragon of Asia. Germany had to pay war indemnity, TWICE! And yet look at it now. VietNam recieved one of the most extensive bombing campaign, alot of Orange agent spraying and was embargoed for years afterward, and it is now one of the fasting growing nation in the world. Circumstance can affect a lot of things but never blame your destiny on it. Like Venezuela, it has one of the best starting condition in the world and look at it now, not much better than Haiti.

France and America never forgave the 1791 rebellion. The money that was to be used to educate and develop haiti went to france with America ensuring they never get on rheir feet. The countries that run the world never forgave the Haitians for killing all those white Europeans. The Haitian might be among the most illiterates in the world. France and america will, some day have to deal with their evil actions that destroyed Haiti. No black countries should allow the UN on their soil, if they do, they will be fkd up

I'm french and, well. ouch. Uhhhh. sorry? Not my fault, since this whole shebang started centuries ago, and I didn't know any of it until I was an adult. And I certainly recognize how everything added up to mess up this situation. But at this unstable point, idk if sending money only will solve this. some african countries have been receiving aid and money for like ever, but corruption makes it all but just disappear into thin air and people are still struggling like crazy =/

Haiti was punished bc they didn t want to get colonized and fought back against oppression. The DR is the result of a successful colonization mission. The earthquakes that only hit the Haiti side is a big conspiracy to me. I believe those earthquakes are man made. Haiti still have a higher birth rate than the United States. They tryna get rid of Haiti. And the organ traffic in Haiti is crazy. So much blood on the US hands. It s deeper than what they try to make it out be.

There are many reasons as to why many of these countries are failing, but most of them blaming their problems solely because of the colonizers is. I find them to be poor excuses. Especially for Haiti, they've been independent for more than 200 YEARS. Japan, who suffered than most of these countries after WW2, recovered and prospered through it all. A close example to Haiti is South Africa. Their main problem that I can think of is massive corruption and tribalism.

Im from the usa and i never knew the reality of what has gone on in haiti and the DR, and the vast difference between the two. I hope that things can be resolved in Haiti, because of the extreme difficulty that these people have had to endure. I am devastated by seeing their plight. People are people all over the world, and it is inexcusable to have some suffer any more than others, especially when the really rich rest of the world can come to their rescue.

Many Haitians are rushing into the USA through the porous USA southern border in order to make use of the generous social welfare programs paid with deficit spending. That was seen from examining illegal immigrants entering in both the Yuma area and various parts of Texas. Maybe one day, the economic collapse from inflation will get the USA to close its southern border. Until then, the Haitians will continue to abandon Haiti and enter the USA.
reply

Honestly, just giving money to Haiti os not going to solve anything, in fact in current situation it's probably just going to go into securing authoritatian power and into hands of powerful.
Reality is that you don't turn countries stable and prosperous with money. What you need is very smart investments into the country along with functional laws and government. Giving money to bad cause/organization is worse than not giving at all.

reply

im absolutely against any forms of reparations. so yes france should have to pay back the reparations they extorted at gun point from haiti.
reparations never solve anything. they are impossible to fairly quantify. (you cant put a price on human lives)
haiti should have never been forced to pay reparations to france and haiti has every right to demand back the reparations they payed to france.

reply

Okay, here is the solution: The DR executes a freindly takeover and takes Haiti as a province accepting its population as its own. The Kenian troops can help keeping the gangs in check until the DR has fully assimilated the new province. Then the DR can slowly fix the economy of its new province the same way it fixed its own before. And maybe, in the future, Haiti will just be a normal part of the DR.

great video. I didn't know any of that. It's quite interesting seeing the contrast between a clean dominican republic and haiti, who even made vodoo one of their official state religions. They are practicing vodoo rituals openly, and I firmly believe the natural destasters are a warning sign from God to repent, because they country is full of depravity and satanic influence.
