The riddle explained: (Knowing that one, or both of the possessed students can lie or tell the truth)
If everyone gives a consistent report, there are two possibilities: The two possessed students are paired together and telling the truth in either the duo or two trios, or they could be paired in separate groups, but both are telling the truth simultaneously.
In case of any dispute(s, the following scenarios could be the case:
If only one trio is arguing, there are two possibilities: one possessed student is in the trio, while the other one is telling the truth in either the other trio or duo, or both students could be paired together in the trio and are arguing with the third truthful member.
Although there are no certain guarantees, if both trios are quarreling, it could potentially be the best case scenario, since it only means that both students are paired in separate trios.
Another challenging scenario could be if one pair and one trio are arguing (both students are also paired separately, since your decision making process with the duo will be more of a coin flip and more risky, since there is no element of majority.

I came up with 2 different answers that still work.
1. Split up into any group numbers, it doesn't really matter.
2. Send each group to explore a hallway
3. If any group finds the exit, just leave and do not return
This can be done in complete silence with zero communication and no chance of the curse being activated.
A liar would have to take a deliberate action to thwart the plan.
If by any chance the liars are paired and also allowed to lie by refusing to exit (Doesn't seem within the rules)
1. Split into groups of 3 (You will have a minimum of at least 1 unaffected person)
2. Explore 3 of the 4 hallways
3. If any group finds the exit, just leave and do not return
4. If all groups return. the unexplored hallway is the exit
5. If anyone is missing from any group, that is exit
A liar would have to refuse to return in order to attempt to break this. That clearly is against the rules.
This curse only affects their communication

I actually had a different approach. Since we are 9 students and we have 4 possible exits, we will split it into groups of 3 so 1 exit will be left unexplored, after we are back and I didnt find the exit we have 2 possible exit and 1 unexplored, in these 2 groups of 3 students we will definitely have a disagreement Either 2 possessed students are in the same group ( will know this if the other group have a consistent answer ) or in a different group ( both groups have inconsistent answer in this case will trust the majority) and for the unexplored exit if all 3 groups didnt find the way out we all go through the unexplored one and hopefully we reach the exit

I have seen a possibility that Ted Ed didnt cover
What if both of the possessed students got into a trio and went into a path that lead to the exit of the temple so the trio comes back to report that the path they went to was actually the exit but the two cursed lie about not being an exit and the one thats not possessed says that the path leads to the exit so youll instantly think that the one thats saying that the path leads to the exit is one of the possessed and youll think that the path leads to a dead end

Alternate solution: Go through each of the students real quick telling them to lie about whether or not they are possessed.
Also, this person said that they all deserve a vacation and has another expedition coming up, are we sure this isn't Ms. Frizzle?

Easier solution: Split up into groups and report back if you did not find the exit. If you find the exit, don't come back because when we report back to the junction we will know who did not come back and know your path is the path to the exit.
