I know the topic's examples are more focused on athletes, but all I can think is oh, THAT'S why every artist I know questions the quality of their work so much, the mindset is like a perfect storm of conditions in which choking (or a creative block, or the ability to see their work without a negative lens) will occur. I honestly don't know if my line of reasoning translates very well here though, sorry.

My way of coping with nerves is to shut down my own thoughts and embrace the nervousness.
Usually, I shut down my senses by focusig on only the important tasks. I might look so rude but it's effective.
Based on my experience, once I lost my seriousness and become more happy, I lose significant control over my nerves which in turn produces bad results.

So Karna was nervous and lost his focus! And Arjun never lost his focus. Karna was all about technicality anf Arjun was all about practicality. I can only see the bird's eye. Yes, exactly, the age old myth is relevant af.

All of this is good in theory but in reality you will always face pressure and resistance it's up to you to find a way to thrive under that pressure. Not many people can do it unfortunately just a harsh reality.
