The Sahara's Most Remote Corner: Exploring The Tenere, Land Of Fear Timeline

The Sahara is the biggest desert on earth. It takes its name from the Arab word for emptiness. In the dead heart of that emptiness there's a place called the Tenere. The Tenere takes its name from the Tuareg word for nothing. A nothing the size of France in the middle of an emptiness the size of the United States. It's no wonder the locals call this place The Land Of Fear. David Adams retraces the trade routes of the people who call this stove-hot corner of the planet home

Arabs are really connected to desert and theses Toureg are pure and free and this is why they get rid of French colonizer and do not accept them in their land, they are full of virtues such as hospitality toward occidentale visitors who have always something to discover and others materialistic ideas behind their coming

I would have thought that those caravans would travel mostly at night, so it's not so hot?
But maybe thats not something you can do when you have beast of burden with the caravan or something?
Probably not good for the animals to stay in one spot in the burning hot sun or perhaps? Yea I dunno, lol.

Don't people eat that salt? Is it polite to pick up a handful and then put it back? Wouldn't it be friendlier to buy some and show it to us that way? In any American market, would you pick up unwrapped food, hold it in your hand for the camera, and then put it back?

I've been all over this world my full life, I've been in amongst it all, I've been in the Sahara desert a few times in amongst the nomadic tribes there, most humans couldn't dream of my life Even my so called Pals Are Jealous of me, seeing is believing just ask me,

It could have been 6 year olds carving on the rocks while traveling with their parents and tribe. The pictures could mean absolutely nothing and just be drawings done by bored little children. These guys will make up anything and expect all of us to believe it

The beginning where he mentions chaos and everything is everywhere rubbed me the wrong way. You need to be aware of how these people depict our land and people. Did he also compare people to something out of Star Wars. Sir no one asked you to go there. Kmt

Why isnt there any big corporation which would drill water for these people? There are huge ground water supplies under the desert. They have been waiting for rain for 15 ) years, maybe even longer. Does anyone care?

as an African American, I wonder if my ancestors come from this area because I and many of my relatives resemble them in appearance, Especially Me (the tawny brown skin, straight noses, high cheek bones, slim frame)

When the guide puts saliva on a stick then rubs it on the salt. imagine he didn't want it he literally would own the rights to that old familiar expression rub salt in the wound

the power of climate change yes the world's climate goes through natural cycles, unless of course you want to say the ancient Egyptians affected the earth's climate?
reply

The funny thing is theyre gonna say these people are not black. Weve gotta start defining things for ourselves because the enemy only seeks to confuse.
