My grandmother is from gibsonton. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. My mother got married there. I remember old carnival rides and equipment in peoples backyards. My grandma told me the neighbor used to have an elephant. There was a junkyard in the backyard with cars stacked super high. It was a wild place but it felt like an adventure as a kid.

After viewing a couple of the news articles about Republicans rioting, I read the tile of this one and thought it was going to be Washington, D, C. I am glad that people who were once exploited are now living in a place that is comfortable, with neighbors who shared the same experiences, and feel they belong.

When I was younger, I wanted to join the circus after watching the Elizabeth Montgomery movie. When I moved to the Tampa Bay area, I HAD to visit the sacred ground, Gibsonton. I imagined its glory days. Although it's run-down, it's still awesome! AHS Freak Show was absolutely their BEST season.

idk dude, a low counter's also pretty useful for people who are on a wheelchair. If you've ever had someone on a wheelchair have to reach up to push in their devit card pin, you know low counters are kinda indispensible in a bunch of businesses.

Well done, but left me kind of sad. Time marches on and changes leave many people with jobs that are no longer lucrative. Im glad the circus retirees had a place to go, together, so that they had people who shared the same background as they did.

This really is the craziest place! We went through last February and it was so so so depressing. Almost every house has its yard covered in old rusty circus equipment. all the townspeople seem to hang out at the bar in droves too.

P. C. snowflake SJWs killed the only livelihood some of these people had. This was the best possible life for a lot of people who were happy here and on the road. It's a damn shame this option barely exists now.

Freakshow, was set in Jupiter, Florida, like you said, but it is a 100% real town, not a fictional one, on the east coast. I grew up there. Nothing like Gibsontown. Its a coastal fishing town really.

At one time, those with severe disabilities and deformities could earn a living and support themselves. Then, the do-gooders took away that option, making many of these fine people dependent on others.

Lived in that area from 67 to 2004. The Giants Camp was always the place to go after the bars closed. I went to high school with the Giant's daughter.
Live in SC now but visit that area often.
