A few missed points about the Landsknecht: Imaging being so flush with cash you walked into a tailor and picked out all 5 of the most expensive cloths ever, no matter the color and said Yep, I need all of them in a shirt, there ya go. They were also exempted from the sumptuary laws that legally defined what colors and clothes the social classes could wear, so a Mercenary could LITERALLY dress like a king if they wanted to, because the Emperor ruled their short miserable lives should have some fun in them while they were alive.

Big fashion (ie. big dresses, big cod pieces, big wigs, long pointy shoes etc) were all about displaying wealth and rubbing it into your neighbour's face. Almost all of the fashions started the same way. An influential person (usually a king/queen or high ranking noble) would start wearing some new piece of clothing or attire. Then the race was on to go bigger and more ornate - which only the wealthy could afford to do. Funny, now the race is on to see who can wear the least amount of clothing.

Awesome show. Good history lesson with humor. The most ridiculous fashion trend is when black men let their. Pants fall beneath their underwear and they have to hold the pants up with one hand, and barely capable of walking. Makes them vulnerable to ambush. And makes them look like brainless fools looking to get laid in prison. Thats what that indicates in the old pokey.
IMHO ofcourse. Then again, anyone wearing high heels is ridiculous. Impractical and bad for the body

Merry Christmas, team! Even though it's a weird history in and of itself. You're all wonky and prolly all kinds of things we cannot openly talk about. But merry, mother-loving christmas to you. Already gave the dogs, cats, rabbits, and stray things outside lots of ham and stuffing (without using them as containers, so I wish the best to everyone. Now, to work on my strats and see if I can dethrone Lacks as the best Zelda player. :D

Sir Robert of Gilgamosh -My saints Sir John, my fellow is it even so you wear yon riding boots to such a soiree as this? Your deficiency of even the commonest of sense is only outweighed by your lack of good taste in all things aesthetic.
Sir John of Buxtonberry -Mine excellent judgment Sir Robert suggests thy face could be improved by the application of my fist

Why in the heck is it now ok to use historical instead of the proper historic? Or Democratic Party instead of the heretofore name of Democrat Party. These terms water down the meaning of words or imply something different. Why has this changed in only 17 years? Idiocracy was indeed a documentary about the future. We are here.

All Sewn together? Not sure why someone in a military that offers no armor would be ripping their clothes apart to make new ones from their dead enemies when it literally provided no benefit. Did you just watch a random video and assume the information was accurate? Literally pathetic!

I will once again say this corsets we're not painful. majority of women did not tight lace. corsets do not restrict movement as much as people like to say. The reason 1920s fashion is the way it is is because we invented bras and bras are a lot cheaper to buy and or make then corsets

Corsets are only painful when they're cinched too tight (like enough to move organs or make a person faint x. x. They're quite comfortable when cinched correctly.
However, it also takes more time and effort to put on than, well, a flapper dress.

The Empire look of high waist dresses with looser underthings seems not very extreme (early 19th c. However, I have read that some young ladies would dampen their muslin dresses even on cooler days. Sounds extreme to me.

The car I took driving lessons in didn't have power brakes, so I really had to jam my foot on the pedal. I found that wearing heeled boots helped the situation. Now I learn that early equestrians had the same idea.

Kilts are still worn today in Scotland. In formal occasions usually but not uncommon to walk in Glasgow and see a couple of men wearing a kilt.

Hmm which fashion trend to try?
Seems like black teeth would cover a multitude of sins. Especially if it stops the Meth from rotting the rest of them!

The present generation thinks that their predecessor's fashion is outdated. until their successor tells them that their own fashion's outdated.

Scottish Kilts weren't originally colourful like now either. That was another invention of the English to identify Scottish Clans.

I love the Flapper Look. So Cool and Feminine. I actually saw Henry the VIII's armor that you showed. Yeah that codpiece was huge!
