You know 80s and 90s born people are getting old when 2004 is 20 years old
Things you missed that should have been on this episode.
The Malice at The Palace( how you forget the biggest fight in NBA and sports in general history. All started when a fan threw a cup at Ron Attrest/Metta Worldpeace during the Indiana Pacers vs Detroit Pistons game after Pistons' Ben Wallace shoved Attrest and Attrest was on the sideline relaxing til that cup was thrown at him and everyone was fighting)
Saw( surprised you didn't add that considering Jigsaw became thr iconic horror figure during the 2000s)
Bleach made its anime debut in Japan
Spiderman 2 ( best Spiderman sequel in the Toby Mcguire era)
Adult industry shutdown due to a male performer unknowingly affected his female co-stars with HIV
The Incredibles ( how you missed the best Pixar movie since Toy Story and that certain mirror scene of Helen Incredible/Elastic Girl though )
Terror Squad feat. Fat Joe and Remy Ma Lean Back debut in the summer of 2004
Sherk 2
Ray( and you missed Ray Charles death before his biopic with Jamie Foxx playing him came out)
Rick James death( he's popularity resurgence came about due to Chappelle Show which I'm still mad that didn't add that to the 2003 episode)
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
Stanley Tookie Williams one of the founder of The Crips gang was executed. He made books warning kids to stay away from gang life while on Death Row and won The Noble Peace Prize. Everyone want to give him clemency including both The Crips and Bloods as they see him as the only savior to end their wars.
San Antonio Spurs back to back.
To Catch A Predator debut
AVP Alien vs Predator
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Along Came Polly
You Got Served
Nip/Tuck
Spongebob movie
Call of Duty The Finest Hour( first ever COD game to release for consoles)
Grand Theft Auto San Andres ( I'm highly surprised one of the best games of that era wasn't even mentioned)
Hotel Rwanda
Veronica Mars
White Chicks
13 Going on 30
(Anything that the fans want to add feel free to comment)

2004 was Also The Inaugural Year for NASCAR's Controversial Chase For The Cup now known today as The Playoffs which consisted of 10 Drivers competing for The Cup Series Championship in The Final 10 Races of The 36 Race Season (Which was implemented in 2001) from 2004-2006 Then expanded The Format to 12 Drivers from 2007-2012 then a One Off 13 Driver Format in 2013 with NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon (Where he would have 3 Additional Championships in 2004, 2007 & 2014 making Him The 3rd 7-Time NASCAR Cup Series Champion alongside Richard Petty & Dale Earnhardt if The Chase For The Cup/Playoffs were never implemented) as that 13th Driver as a result of Spingate which led to The Implemented 16 Driver Elimination Style Format in 2014 that is currently used today with it being changed to The Playoffs in 2017 along with The Implementation of Stage Racing as well as Playoff Points being awarded throughout the entire season.

Wow thinking about the War on Terror and all that ensued is incredibly sobering and depressing. At the time I was very much an uncaring teenage, 9/11 happened my senior year, and took a very cynical look at the entire thing. I was definitely disconnected but find it regrettably correct that it was used to give a free pass for whatever the Bush administration only to be a turning point for the worse. So many pointless lives lost worldwide all for so so little (at least for most of us, can't all be part of the elites who benefitted tremendously) and makes me sick to think about. Even the less important aspects like the pathetic security theater at airports (get treated like a criminal anytime you take a flight) really has made me lose faith in the system as a whole. Doesn't mean to give up on change for the better but makes it so much harder to keep moving forward.

2004 Was The First Year with Nextel Communications Replacing Winston (The Cigarette Brand) as The Primary Sponsor for NASCAR's Premier League known as The NASCAR Nextel Cup Series from 2004-2007 before switching The Sponsor Name to The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from 2008-2016 because of their Merger with Sprint Corporation in 2005 which led to them getting Acquired by T-Mobile in 2020.
Monster Energy would take Sprint Corporation's Place as The Primary Sponsor for NASCAR's Premier League known as The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2017 before concluding that said sponsorship deal in 2019 with 2020 being The Inaugural Year of NASCAR's Top Level of Competition now known today as The NASCAR Cup Series.

I was 25 years old. The world was my oyster and I was eating it up. At 45. I retired from commercial fishing, gone to college, became an aerospace machineist and I am now working as a CNC programmer. Life is crazy. It's definitely what you make it. And the better the choice is are that you make when you're in your twenties, the better the life you're going to have when you're in your forties. My only regret is not being nicer to my back shoulders and knees. Lol. I hope whoever reads this has themselves a fantastic day and in case anybody hasn't told you recently, you're a good person and you are worthy of love.

On May 23, 2004, the final NASCAR race at the historic Nazareth Speedway in Nazareth, PA was held. The race, the 2004 Goulds Pumps/ITT Tech Industries 200, was round 12 of the 34 race 2004 NASCAR Busch Series season and saw then-19 year old Kyle Busch sit on the pole with Martin Truex Jr winning the race. Over the years, Nazareth Speedway held races from various stock car and open wheel racing series in its 88 year history. The track closed down immediately after the racing weekend wrapped up that year and remains abandoned to this day.

Dan Rather. ah the good old days when journalists still existed who weren't shills for a political party or rather now, cult.
And oh Martha, Martha, Martha! Stewart, that is. Back when rich people weren't above the law! Too bad Nasty Peloser & her perverted hubby didn't get caught for their insider trading back THEN. they'd still be UNDER the jail! At least Martha took responsibility for her crime!

About American Top 40, Casey Kasem originally left the show after the August 6, 1988 edition, and was replaced by Shadoe Stevens the following week. He would remain until January 28, 1995, during which it went on hiatus. Kasem would return on March 28, 1998. Between the time he originally left and his eventual return, he hosted a rival countdown, Casey's Top 40.

Man, that's something. A flurry of events and inventions. Not to mention that the Detroit Pistons took down the heavy favored Lakers with Shaq, Kobe, Malone, and the Glove Payton. Greg Maddux wins 300th game of his career. So many milestones this year had. Along with many deaths. Famous ones. This year saw me enter 6th grade.

Poor Janet faced the brunt on the super bowl incident as if she had done something wrong. To this day, I don't think she has been allowed back to the super bowl show but Justin has. If I remember correctly, it wasn't just trolls attacking her. I think she lost several jobs because of it but again, it didn't effect Justin.

I remember the Tsunami. Although I was only 9 years old, I remember it very well. My local Boy and Girls Club spent a lot of time making bundles of stuff to send over. Blankets, clothes, toiletries, and so on. We tried to help as much as we could as just kids. We did the same with Katrina the following year.

Finally, the year that I was born! I was born on February 11, 2004 and I'm the middle child of the family who's born in the middle of the decade and on the second month of the year. I'm the second of 3 sons, by the way and both my brothers are born in the 2000s.

Man I remember the day World of Warcraft launched. I was so excited that I read the manual like 10 times waiting for the game to install and update. That weekend me and 3 of my friends all took our PCs to the biggest house and had a 3 day lan party.
