I would not be noticing things like this normally, but since the current political climate, it seems to me that they are forcing a huge number of female leaders into the story. Jaina, Talanji and Sylvanas. Also majority of the Zandalari captains and military leaders are also female. It's weird. that's all I am saying.
Why did they have to make Rastakan be so dull? When you first meet him, he has a speech where he is trying to hint that he is far smarter than he seems. yet he fails to ever demonstrate it.
And also it's a pitty that not even Nathanos demonstrates his smarts. He used the diversion tactics on the enemy's capital just few days ago when stealing the scepter. And now he literally falls for it himself, not suspecting a thing. Even gloating about how they are about to win this war now. All males just lost their wit (or in Rastakan's, Baine's and Saufang's case an initiative, and all females get their victories served to them on a golden platter.
The motives of the story are good. but the details and implementation just baffles me.

The Battle for Dazar-Alor is the biggest display of Horde incompetence and I cannot stand it. Everyone abandoned the city because of word that the Alliance was invading Nazmir. Okay. Leave Rastakhan completely undefended save for two people and their dog.
Next, not one Horde or Zandalari dockworker decided to inspect the rudders on their war boats where BOMBS HAD BEEN PLANTED IN TIMES OF WAR.
NEXT, in retaliation, the Horde failed to even kill King Mekatorque before pursing Jaina, who also escaped practically unscathed.
The Alliance lost NOTHING of consequence in that entire battle and the Horde lost one of the biggest lore characters in WoW.
I hate this raid. I hate it, I hate it I hate it.
Blizzard do something good for the Horde challenge: ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.

I feel like when the writers were working on this raid, they hadn't yet decided where they wanted to take Bwansamdi's character. During the leveling of BFA and through the first few patches it definitely feels like they were building him up to be an eventual villain we would have to defeat, but I think because so many people loved him so much they changed their minds and took his character in a different direction than what was initially planned.
Case and point, in the Rising Shadows novel the dichotomy between Bwansamdi and Talanji is reversed, and they remake their pact to be one of cooperation and mutual benefit as well as make it so Bwansamdi has a reason to care about the other Loa, plus things I won't spoil that will be happening in Shadowlands.

This cutscene 100% clinches it. Bwonsamdi will be the -surprise- final boss of BFA. It may surprise some people and sorry in advance for the spoiler but it is the only thing that makes sense. This is a common writing technique in fiction, having the true villain be an unlikely character who was exposed prominently nonetheless. Of course it's not Aszhara she is a second fiddle. It could be N'zoth but he almost deserves another expansion. Sylvanas would be way too predictable. It seems like Bwonsamdi is the only answer in whatever convoluted way they decide.

de, watching this kinda scary. the power of Bwonsamdi drained his life like he said in the raid? or his life is drained because he transfers all his power of the bargain between him and Bwonsamdi to his daughter? Cause in the Bargain cinematic, his finger still fits the ring, now after he transfered to his daughter, the ring is even too big for his finger oO even before that, his finger is not even that thin when holding his daughter hand like that.

After thinking about this raid for a while, I would of done this raid completely different. I would of kept the horde fighting for the horde and the alliance fighting for the alliance. Not both of them because the raid would of been much better sticking to their chosen side. Nothing wrong with losing a fight in a raid, all the players care about is getting the gear.

So, in our escape we basically massacred Stormwind's guard and burn the entire city, basically killing several dozens of people with families and stuff. And some of the families too
Princess: Meh
Plus we attack from the sky the farms of Kul'tiras
Princess: Meh
In rataliation, Alliance kills the king
Princess: ThIS cRimE Is UnForGIvAbLE

Maaaaan, I liked Rastakhan a lot. Lucky his daughter is also a well written character, or else this would suck bigtime.
I don't like the Horde constantly losing leaders and having tumultuous stability, but at least the writing for the Zandalari has been hella good, unlike another Horde leader. -cough-

Surprised so many people dislike Nathanos. Aside from the Banshee Queen, he's one of the few Forsaken characters with any potential for complexity. For being Sylvanas' ever-loyal -lapdog- we've all seen him hesitate to follow her orders more than once. Its only a matter of time before he says no.

This is where the alliance messed up in attacking zandalar and killing rastakhan there whole point of the attack was to drive a wedge between the horde and the zandalari instead all they did was unite them and cause the zandalari to join the horde. Foolish move on the alliance part.

Holy shit Rastakhan's voice actor really made this cutscene, the gasping and choking had me immersed. Actually got me real sad hearing Rastakhan fade away. Talanji's voice actor (Susan Wokoma) also 10/10, so good. Need I say anything for Bwonsamdi's?

Does Baron Samedi get all souls that die on Zandalar? Does he only get Troll souls? What about Troll souls of the ones that die off of Zandalar?
Can he claim a Humans soul that dies in Stormwind? What extent is his range of influence?

Bwonsamdi is probably the most expressive chracter I've ever seen in world of warcraft. He's got so much movement when he speaks and he often joke during serious situations. That is why he's one of my favorite characters in the lore.

Bwomsamdi isnt a bad guy nor is he a good guy.
The king made the deal with him, and later over used his connection to him.
That's not Bwamsandi's fault.
He believes in balance of all things, hes just the balance of death.

never understand why this sort of deal/curse gets transferred in fantasy like this, like are the children properties and inherit all the -sins- of their parents even if they have nothing to do with it. idk it always seems weird to me

The gasping right before he died(voice acting, the ring slowly slipping off his aging bony fingers and the weird aura of Bwonsamdi almost forcing his almost lifeless hands to grab his daughter's hand are all very nice touches.

I like that Bwansamdi's bargain is clearly -a bad thing- but Talanji still continues on after finding out because she knows Bwansamdi is genuine and will still help her regardless. Its like a curse that is also a buff.

Rastakhan: ''No! NO! How I'm ever doin' to pay back my debts! ''
Ol' Bwonsamdi: ''Are you READY! '
R: ''NO! I'm not ready at all! In fact, I got lots more plans. This is just a minor setback in major operation. ''

This cinematic as a Horde player made me tear up a bit. I honestly liked Rastakhan. I'll be interested to see just what happens now with Bwonsamdi. Who is one of the best characters Blizzard done in awhile.

Wow. Talanji is understandably pissed about not only her father's death, but also about being bound by bloodline to Bwonsamdi without her knowledge.

Uhm. Didn't Anduin ordered to capture Rastakhan ALIVE? This move kinda solidified the Trolls stand in the war. A hostage was more useful.
