I'm very humbled and appreciative of people watching this film; thank you for all the great feedback! And to hear it's connected with people on a personal level, is exciting. For those who have issues following the plot, I can only suggest watching the entire film from start to finish, with the sound. On the surface, the narrative is straight forward; man left on the moon himself, on the verge of giving up, until he makes a discovery that gives him and the mission a glimmer of hope. The story goes deeper, for those who want to watch and listen more closely. Everything is considered; The computer screens, the props, the recording etc. All in aid of the story. Even John's behaviour is an exploration into trauma and loneliness. I appreciate this isn't going to land with some people and that's totally fine; it's all subjective at the end of the day. But it's certainly not just a visual showcase. Thank you again, I appreciate any and all engagement: )

I really like the animation in this Sci-Fi short. The overall visual aesthetic matched well with the subject matter. So on that front, job Ross and Team! I will say that, although there are enough bread crumbs to allow the viewer to piece together what was going on, I came away at the end feeling as if I didn't have all of the pertinent details to truly inform my understanding of what was supposed to be happening/or had happened, on Europa with this mission. After reading the synopsis in the video description, I have a newfound respect and appreciation towards this project's scope and ambition with regards to the story it is trying to tell. This little gem is getting added to my favorites.

here is a plot you can understand - when I was fresh into college I was renting a trailer and next door was two teachers who were renting that trailer - so one morning - a cold morning I opened my door to get to an early class and I heard a banging on the window from the two teacher trailer and I looked over and both of them had their pants down with their butt cheeks pressed against the window - and they didn't turn around but both of them had their hands waving at me - the rest of the day was pretty unremarkable - so of course I was drawn to a vid 43 years later called many moons
my short would be better understood - but your short was worth it.

Proof yet again, that skill in CGI doesn't translate into skill in telling a story. Bud, go take a course in how to frame & tell a coherent tale. This effort had no meat to it. I knew what was going on, but there was far too much down-time & slow nothing to keep my attention--it didn't add to the story, it detracted from it. I understand slowness can add to the loneliness you were trying to project, but you spent almost all of the film doing nothing but that, wasting time with artsy title screens & not telling the rest of the tale. BTW, the Jupiter moon's name in the description is spelled _Callisto_ with an A, not Collisto.

Nowhere but here have I ever heard dark matter called a hoax. I've heard it caled simply wrong many times, and I've also heard it said the the only reason the notion is still around is because scientists hate to admit they're wrong. Until proven otherwise, I personally think the terms dark matter and dark energy are words like god used as a slug terms to represent what we neither know or understand well.

this one made less sense than many others. special effects or cgi were good, but a real story line would help even though most of the films on dust end without an ending. they just stop. but i still enjoy most of them. I'll keep watching and hoping someone will put one on that makes sense and has a true ending that makes sense. Hope springs eternal. Or i am stubborn to a fault.

Wonderful acting and effects. However as noted by others the plot is weak and confusing. Some sequences of action are confusing and blurred, reminding me of the use of unrecognizable motion and objects in films in which fight scenes and violence are a jumble because that was the 'easy' way to get around showing what was happening.

the problem is that radiation is so huge on Jupiter's moons that you would get a lethal dose in 1 minute so you cannot walk on Europa. The only moon you can walk on is Callisto, and maybe Ganymede which has a protective shield but still radiation level high but limited exposure possible

I'm not sure of what happened when the oprator said she is sorry.
Did she abandon John after he made the discovery of water and possible life on Jupiter moon, or she was sorry for being unable to help and the truck going back without him was simply a coincidence

this was visually stunning and the sound effects was spot on, but the plot its self was weak and pretty loose. It was honestly hard to understand easily getting lost in translation. Overall this short film is good if you don't care about understanding the plot

Only the egos of man could come up with, terra forming a planet or moon, it's ridiculous, pipedream and anyone who thinks they want to go live on Mars or any moon is not thinking clearly, let's say you land on Europa or Mars, now what. Regrets.

This looks great but I had very little idea what was going on. He was alone and wouldn't answer anyone, for some reason. People died somewhere because something they built had a negative affect. They came looking for him and uploaded his mind

The film has potential as following along the lines of: 2001, A Space Odyssey, but falls short in it's cohesive sequential storyline. encouragement to the team putting this together to go with further refinements.

There's no 'plot' to understand. Waste of time. The one voice, cg, is bland. The IIIII chapters are void of any meaning, and we still don't know why anyone is doing any of this. Fail.

I am happy not to be spoon-fed every detail of a film's meaning or plot. Art should challenge you, make you think and yes, be somewhat subjective, otherwise it serves little purpose.
