Deliverance is initialized' - Watch Metta Via now on DUST. Subscribe for new sci-fi short films on Sorry but youre getting a thumbs down on this one. Im not going to read the paragraph that explains the movie to make sense out of the movie. That paragraph worth of explanation could have just about as easily been put into the movie. In the evenings I like to play these through my flat screen and Im not able to read the comments. So, Im NOT reading anymore paragraphs of explanation before or after the move. If the movie cant on its own make sense, that it just doesnt make sense and youll get a thumbs down. If Its so bad that it aggravates the hell out of me, youll get a thumbs down AND a comment describing how difficult it was to understand the movie. Like this.

My guess this is one interpretation of death. When we die a process occurs to shed our mortal self and either become pure energy or exist in some other dimension. The machines' job is to do this. They verify the end result. When she said they are all here meaning it happens to everyone and we can see them.
Another guess is, with the middle part, she was going to die so they take her to some temple as the final ritual. The girl is her descendent, she gets to see what it will be like, the woman gets some final moments with her before being taken by the ship.
Now I need an aspirin cuz my brain hurts.

For those who did not get it, here's how I see it:
Story was about leaving this planet and making a journey from human to a sentient mind inside a machine. This has happened in other worlds too and those other blocks were sentient downloads from other planets. The leftovers of the human body were finally made to the coal pile that we carry inside of our bodies. They are all here means that her memories were there and also other human downloads were done too.
It is a transition movie from human to a machine with some artistic CGI.
Great movie, for those who gets it.

I think this is an AI creationism story. She was in the womb, tore through the placenta during her birth, and her life was downloaded into her. But like real life, human life, she was barely disconnected before it was all over, so very fleeting. Her name was Evelyn. Eve. The audio-visual represented the inner workings of, well I suppose a computer. Ironically, for all it's sophistication, even such a computer didn't know where the consciousness is located. I'm still confused on some of the symbolism, but the creationism angle is my take on it.

The word that best describes this short is 'nothing'. The entire thing from beginning to end was about nothing. The young short haired woman, her older sell with the toddler. nothing. The woman trying to reach the outside while her older self looks on. nothing. The space ships lifting off, the woman disintegrating. nothing. The question about the location of the consciousness. nothing. This was a text book example of cinematic nothingness. Thank you for this! Thanks for nothing.

Beautiful imagery, cinematography, VFX. Respect for the work that went into that. Yet without anything approaching a story it just left me frustrated. I don't watch these mostly excellent DUST shorts so I can interpret for myself what they mean, I watch to be entertained. But there are so many of them that require going through the comments to see if anyone else had an idea of what just happened.
reply

Nope. Just a CGI showdown.
as an italian I was intrigued by the metta via title (in italian it means put that away) but instead there is some karmic-tool-esque show but with a flat narrative; it looked like some fashion Tv add than a sci fi-spiritual movie.
Not so inspiring as they would it have to be, maybe a good idea but not very touching. what a pity.

I can't read 1, 1 k coments but to understand this you got to live this(and it's imposible. I cried when i saw it and i'll cry forever because of what i understand. This is not for everybody and not everybody or anybody can understand. Counsciousness is/was in all the 3 main characters. I can't say more. We all are stardust.

to me, it represented the journey of birth and death, and the meeting with the thing we call god which is in itself incomprehensible. The fact that many people dont understand this film is in itself a success cuz i think that is exactly the feeling of birth, death and meeting god = utter confusion and awe

Juuuuuuust a little bit too much left up to interpretation for me. I mean sure it’s beautiful and creative but I’d like a little backstory or something a bit more to latch onto. A little too freeform for me. That being said, wonderfully creative and some beautiful work.

I’m not an artist, so I don’t know the right words to use, but this was incredible! I can’t imagine the amount of hours/days/months (years) this must have taken. The writing, production, cgi and editing is just fantastic! Much love, from Las Vegas

ok, good cgi, good scenes, but Dust often seems to forget what is mandatory: A PLOT, AND INTRODUCTION, TO COMPREHEND WHAT WE ARE GOING TO WATCH! 9 minutes on nothing, it took me 3 seconds before the end to comprehend something of what I saw! unacceptable

As soon as she tore open the plastic and took a breath of fresh air the band on her breasts should have popped off and let some air and light to them. Nothing better for banded breasts than to give them their freedom.

Out of all the Dust shorts, this is the one I kept coming back to. I love it because I think everyone can make their own interpretation of the plot. It leaves you hanging, but in a good way. Well done!

I theorize that White Light is the consciousness in it's pure eternal form. That being said, anyone of us has the potential to wield it. Unfortunately the initiated use it for the worst.

Spent all that money on visual effects, forgot about finding a story somewhere. Do you require your audience to somehow be able to read the minds of the people that made this film
reply

I am older these days. Perhaps it's why I had no idea what was going on. I'd rather blame it on myself than someone with a vision that I just don't get.

i thought time loop the girl would become the woman and both felt eternity press upon them. if i had learnt latin instead if Deu maybe i will be wiser

It's a shame so many people have negative comments because they didn't get it. I didn't get it, either - but I still enjoyed it tremendously.

This was utterly fantastic. So many cool things going on. Sci-Fi is supoposed to make us think and ask questions, and this was spot on.
reply

I don’t get it. Reminds me of Super Bowl Commercials where you can’t tell what the ad was for. World Peace or cereal maybe.

Oh brother. A CGI-laden electronic keyboard heavy sci-fi excursion that gamers and pot smokers will enjoy. if they only remember it.

This was obviously about how Jeff Bezos vets all his mistresses before letting them in his bedroom

_Metta Via_ is Italian for Put It Away. This is the one and only thing I understood from this movie: (

Incorporation of Tibetan Throat singing unique. Seems to be an alein upgrade to humanity.

Birth, life, death, after-life Whatever, this was one of the best Dust productions I’ve seen.

Beautiful little piece. Loved its imagery and atmosphere. Excellent actress and cute toddler.

Wow looks this has to do alot with our Chakra system and ascension. beautiful work!

No amount of CGI and artsy filming can compensate for the lack of an intelligible story.
reply

What in the HECK was that! A story, or context, is so passe that you just left it out
reply

I see this as the AI trying to replicate a multidimensional human being.
reply

During the making of this movie, no breasts were harmed or treated inappropriately.

the creators of this have never been to burning man. ever. not even once. at all.

I think it's explaining why you are always being called for car insurance.
