Here's a follow-up video with even more secrets and Easter eggs in games that were hidden for YEARS scrote: The ant didn't take years to find in the last of us. The very first time I ever played it I saw it. I turned on the game and had to leave with my daughter to take her somewhere so I backed out. Later that night I was able to play again so we I loaded into the game and decided that I should explore the room I came out of to make sure I didn't miss anything and saw the ant but it wasn't like something special to me or anything like that. I ordered the game and played it in release day so I know that one is incorrect.

I mean I may have been too young to realize it was such a secret and I didn't go around to forums discussing it, but my sister and I figured out the forest water trick just a few months after its release after one of us accidentally or jokingly used it as it was equipped. We figure is was just -magical water- and that's why it worked.

I remember finding that splinter cell Easter egg back in like 08 or something and posting about it on the Ubisoft forums I believe, with like almost no one believing me. At the end of the quest you save the seal princess and they float away iirc.

PS2 games did that heaps back in the day if you turned a game off, changed the system clock to a specific date and loaded it back up you got an Easter egg. Pretty sure that was a thing in the prison sequence of MGS3 Snake Eater

I'm not sure you can count train head as an Easter egg. Interesting for sure. But not a hidden detail or reference. Just shotty Bethesda programming

the first -easter egg- is not an easter egg, it was a temporary screen they used for the TV that you weren't supposed to see, so it was a mistake

When you first get the hunting rifle in the first Last of Us, die on purpose and go back to the rifle location when you respawn. Double ammo
