No, crafting is not the only big problem, its part of it but not the only one, any basic gameplay components are just nearly unusable or just bad. Like every single cooking recipe, it needs at least two ingredients: 2 stakes, 2 chicken, 2 berries, 2 pieces of everything, which makes no sense and is an unnecessary grind. Saying crafting isn't as grindy is also a lie. I never had to run back and forth as often in a survival game as I did here to simply build a house. Besides, the building of houses feels terrible without the ghost mode. If you equip a weapon and shield and switch to one of your tools and back, your shield is no longer equipped with your weapon, and you have to do it on your own. You can't use your scroll wheel to switch your tools. In the game, you have to eat and drink as your character is never saturated. Not only does the combat feel clunky, the overall movement and jumping feels pretty bad. 600 people worked on this project, and the animations look worse than the animations from solo devs. The weight system makes 0 sense. While you need wood the most, wood is 4 times heavier than stone and 20 times more different to get. While playing the game, half of it felt like a log-cutting simulator. In the first minute of the game, you learn how to use your crafting table and how to craft weapons and tools. After you do this, you get the same tools in the next quests again. Some of the icons also feel like the developers didn't even think the tiniest bit about their game. Like the exhaustion bar is an arm What the hell Most of the game literally feel like the devs haven't played their game a single time and just want to use the runescape IP to make a fast cash grab. Even if it is an early access and of course, it will have problems. This is the worst early access survival game out there. And they literally want 30 from you to test their garbage

Loving the game and I still play both OSRS and RS3. My only gripe with this game is a portion of the combat. It feels very Runescape 3/OSRS where attacks are completely unavoidable like a tab target combat system. Even if you are an extremely far melee distance from a monster, when you run out of stamina you will always get hit. The monster will swing but SLIDE to you from such a far unrealistic distance and hit you if you have 0 stamina. In fact even if you have Stamina, If you are SPRINTING AWAY from a mob and have so much distance the second they wind up that swing. If you don't press the dodge or block, the attack will hit you and you will watch them just SLIDE to you unrealisticly and hit you haha. Arrows and magic Also tracks you so the only way you can avoid it is either blocking or dodging if you have stamina or hiding behind something. This is not RS3/OSRS where its tab target combat, this is a survival open world game. I think they need to seperate the two and know the difference lol. You should be able to dodge attacks just by moving away or moving to the side. It's not like conan and other surivivals where if you run out of stamina and a person swings at you. It's not an automatic hit when you are far away and have distance. I swear the mobs got some air jordans when you are out of stamina. They swing at you and hit you automatically if you are out of a melee distance or another way to say it, they hit you at a distance that YOU yourself cant even hit them if you were to attack back lmao. Other than that I still love this game.

Man, this guys review is WAY OFF feels rushed. A quarter of the video he literally has no idea what he’s talking about and it’s clear he hasn’t played all that much of the game or just hasn’t paid attention.
Also, overturned hunger and thirst And complaining that there are too many work benches and crafting tables
It’s a SURVIVAL CRAFT game I think he needs to go play a different genre lmfao. What a joke to be complaining about such things
Also water and food is beyond easy to obtain, takes 5 minutes and you have hours worth and water and food stocked up it’s not like fishing and cooking in OSRS took hours to stock up on food.
Damn this guy completely missed the mark with this game this was a very bad review overall sadly.

I want to give it a shot but honestly I am a little tired of the same survival games over and over again. like it looks like enshrouded but with a twist and I already have 400 hours into one char on there. Down the road if they show that they are putting in the effort to really make this different compared to other survival crafting games then yeah I am down. but I am also not going to wait years and years and years to see a finished game. The early access market is oversaturated with games that have been in the works for who knows how long.

For me the pricing is too damn steep for a game that is this early in development. It is twice more than Enshrouded and four times more than Vrising during the early access.
The game is fun, but they should add an auto-eat and drink option if you have appropriate items in the quick action bar.
Also, they really need to work on the performance it runs like a cart with one wheel on high and epic, not to mention the graphic settings are bare bones right now.

Once Human when it dropped in early access they had detachable camera base building. So not really a new idea here but all survival games do need it going forward. Once human also had storage crates that work with crafting anywhere in base. As well as ability to move entire base easily which is another feature more survival games need. They really needed to have Ranged and Magic skill trees available during this early access. Not down the line.

So i typically love these videos and find them very helpful. BUT falcon was not the choice for this one considering he has next to NO runescape knowledge, ANYONE who has played runescape knows flax = string. That and alot of his gripes about the monster behavior. Runescape is a point and click TURN BASED game. If they came out of the gate with an advance hardcore combat system they would have a pretty big issue with the current fan base.

Minimum graphics settings, no server settings, 2/3 combat skills are not there (magic and archery, eating and drinking non-stop same crocodile, map is tiny, dungeons are extremely simple and boring, no parkour, stealth broken, no pause so every 10 seconds somebody harassing you - orcs, animals or dragon acid bombing.
Not bad but feels like and plays like a cheap, low level, no content clone of Valheim/Soulmask/Conan.

My problem is it’s just ANOTHER GAME where you have to start with picking up sticks and stones, and then spend some time mining a rock and chopping down trees. With yet another building crafting system. Rust, Ark, Enshrouded, Valheim, Palworld, and assuredly countless others I’ve ignored over the years. I at least put up with Palworld because of the pals themselves. But it’s just like the same game with different skins.

It would be cool if they added human towns with more population or castle cities tho there is a dragon wonder if they could do a encounter with a dragon attacking a castle city with you in the town maybe that’s to difficult I love games like this and i want games like this to succeed maybe a few more different enemy types but really the future for this game is bright

Idk man, as a active OSRS player and fan, when i heard Jagex was making a new game i got excited but this doesn't really scratch the itch i was hoping for.
Havent brought it yet as a single olayer survival game just doesn't seem really appealing and it being in EA makes that even more boring. Hopefully they this comes good on release so will be keeping my eyes on it

The issue is lack of progression that made osrs so great. Theirs no range or magic leveling. Without the progression and grind it just isnt runescape. Progression and feeling of advancment is so vital in gaming. And in dragonwilds your maxed level within 48 hours its really a joke. I love osrs but its the rare loot from bosses and progression is why i love it.

You can pick Flax for Coarse Thread. Just like RS. 1 Flax = 1 Thread.
Loot and cook like 100 Dirty Water every now and then and carry 50 clean water. Never an issue for me.
Loot a bunch of Cabbage and Potato's and keep em in a chest whenever you have 2 meat to add to it, make and carry a bunch of Meat Stew. Again, never an issue for me.

Idk why games like this insist on wasting players time. The amount of quality of life most crafting survival games need is astonishing. I wonder why Minecraft is still #1 Perhaps it’s because the crafting is secondary to all the other cool stuff you can do. I really wanted to try this out, but I think it’ll be a hard pass for me. :/

7: 35 when you are being hunted or a raid happens theres enough time to spam the magic shield spell and either the air embue weapon spell (my favorite) or the fire one which is ok. These spells will make the raids and hunts be a joke especially since they are level 2 (if you have higher armour you shouldnt have issues as well)

I'm a bit on the fence because I'm just tired of every survival game launching in early access. For once, I would just like a content-complete survival game, as every time with EA games, I just lose interest halfway through and then never touch them again, even when it reaches a full release; which often isn't even a guarantee

food and water were fine imo its the need to sleep if you play the game for 30-45mins of none stop combat/gathering stuff/ect
I feel like the game forces you to lay in the bed between nights, but maybe I'm too sweaty and enjoying the game too hard.
(think stardew tiers of napping)

Tired of stripped down early access unfinished product games that have potential my money is fully featured finished and even remastered it’s not a fair trade. Also this looks exactly like velhim like down to the engine but with a mobile sheen slapped on top.

You lost me at It's not MMO. Why would I want to play runescape which isn't MMO They likely called it Runescape to attract more players. They might as well battleroyal named RuneScape: Legends of contracting ring. Or hero shooter - RuneScape: Wilderness retold.

It’s kind of annoying that magic and ranged leveling systems aren’t introduced at start because melee is really bad compared to mage and ranged but it feels like a bummer you’re not gaining any levels using your magic and ranged resources at the moment
