10 brilliant features every single player game should have
video description
One feature I feel should be included in all games going forward is a photo mode. It doesn t need to be super well done like Cyberpunk 2077, but it should do the bare minimum and allow people to rotate and move the camera, set filters, take and share screenshots, etc.
Also if it s a game where you ll be replacing and swapping out gear a lot, transmogrification. I don t want to have to sacrifice style for stats, or vice versa. Transmogrification lets me have both. So let me have both!

one thing all shooter games should have is offline bot multiplayer. Think about all the games that had that. The original gears of war games, killzone, several old cod games. With a mode like that you get tons of benefits for example when a game gets old and forgotten the offline bot multiplayer is the only way to simulate the experience as a very least as single player, this also adds more content value to those who only want to play games single player and dont want to feel they are wasting their money on games that have a simple 4 hour campaing. Imagine if battlefield bad company 2 had a offline bot mode. the game nowdays is pretty much dead, if it had this kind of offline bot sistem, it would have been the only way revive some bit of the experience and it could have added more single player content value other than just the campaing.
I say this because ive spent tons of hours playing the offline bot modes in all star wars battlefront games. the original ones from xbox and the EA ones.
Bots will never be able to match a real player or the full multiplayer experience but im not talking about replacing anything im just saying i love games that add this as an option. In gears of war 3 on xbox 360 i can play all multiplayer modes offline with bots and its quite fun. Tons of replay value plus the campaing, a complete package that was worth full price.

Speaking on the last point you made, the #1 game for the small details that blew me away was Watch Dogs 1. I know it's an unpopular choice but after revisiting it on PS4 I realized how much of an underrated masterpiece that game was (minus the shitty dlc) it also made me all the more depressed to see just how much of that focus on minor details was taken out of the later games in the series, WD2 was bad for it and Legion can't hold a candle to either of its predecessors. Knowing that the series will now probably be over with the garbage entry that Legion was is so sad to think about.
It also got me thinking that too many sequels prioritize new features while removing a lot of the ones from previous entries that made the series' great in the first place. AAA studios really need to cut that shit out. I'm looking at you, Ubisoft.

For the pause during cutscenes idea, yes. Absolutely, yes, but instead of just having the option to skip, or rewatch a cutscenes, we need the ability to skip the cutscenes, and, as most single player games these days have some kind of in-game lore codex the ability to simply go back through what would essentially be a transcript of the dialogue from the cutscenes. That way, if your quest log just says, go do (x, but in the dialogue you were told you also have to (y) and (z) before you can do (x, you can go back and re-read the dialogue to remind yourself to do (y) and (z. I say that because I have personally played RPGs before that have a similar, if not the exactly described system implemented with the added bonus that they actually highlighted relevant quest information in the codex in a different color text.

Remove optional objectives like don t get spotted or get 10 headshots for 100% for me it removes the fun of playing the way I want to play.
Until dawn literary had a last time sequence before the start of every new chapter.
One thing more aimed at open world games in general is collectibles that means something not like Ubisofts collect 2000 chests or 100 pieces of scrap like when gta does it you usually get a mission or a perk as a reward not just 0, 1% closer to 100%. I think a have like 3 or 4 saves of ac black flag at 99% because I did not have the energy to collect all the chests you have to sail around the map to every tiny island I spent 6 hours trying and wasn t even close

A definite yes for level select in games. I would like to also add multiple save files and/or New Game+. I recently played Trek to Yomi and I was having a great time. I missed a collectable and finished the chapter. I then found out that there was no level select at all, and the only way to get the collectable to was to completely start over. And by starting over, I will have to delete my current save file. I finished the campaign because I hoped I could start over with my abilities to make getting the ones I missed easier, but no. I enjoyed the first playthrough, but the second became a slog because I also had to recollect the collectibles I had previously gotten.

Something that I want in games is being able to skip walking sequences.
For those who don't know what they are. They are basically sections where the game slows down your walking speed artificially to hear some dialogue or something. They can also be crawling sequences.
Sometimes they are used to hide loading. But most times they are just poor substitutes for cutscenes. Literally. They are used so that the devs don't spend more money on cutscene animations and cinematography.
There's nothing a walking sequence can do that a cutscene does better.
But because they are technically gameplay, you can't skip 99% of them. And I hate it so much.

I miss unlockable features. These days, if you don't have it when booting up, it's probably not part of the game. I'm not talking about in-game powers, I mean have you seen the original God of War's Extras menu? Finish the game on any difficulty for loads of goodies, including behind the scenes dev logs, finish on max difficulty for the best stuff.
There's a few features that we take for granted that should either be an unlockable feature, or just disable parts of the game (such as achievements, multiplayer, and/or story progression. For example, I enjoy Paradox Interactive games, but I've accepted that I'll never get achievements.

I wish that devs could add a third person perspective in most games that either could use it or need it (mostly titles that are cartoony like sea of thieves) instead of giving us the excuse of Oh but it's more IMMERSIVE in first person when it just isn't the case for half the player base. I get that you want it that way for your game and I can respect that but when you don't think of your player it is also a problem. Lotta games been transitioning to this gameplay and I'm not havin it.

11: 35 It also make any game you buy temporary. The moment game servers are down (and they all are, at some point) that game you purchased turns to junk.
Probably entire reason dumb greedy companies keep trying. Gives them control over your game like when you buy a digital copy (which we all know are more of a licensing agreement then real purchase). Probably allows them to gather data you don't wont them too as well (but that pretty much a given unfortunately)
