You could fill this entire list with WOW drops. For most though the rarest would be the corrupted Ashbringer from the original game, The raid it dropped from was only even entered by about 2% of the player base at the time it was relevant content, and that period was only 8 months. (that said it was still a challenge for max level players one whole expansion later due to the fact you needed at least 30 players who went through a long attunement grind, were competent to beat the 2nd toughest boss in the game at the time, were geared enough)
Also bear in mind it was a 2H so basically it would go to a Warrior 99. 9% of the time, Ret Paladins could wield it but good luck getting a group to take a WoW Vanilla group to take you.

You would not understand the gravity of the meaning behind the sword in Shadow of the Colossus. Its a culmination of players desire to find more for years in the original game, writing entire book sized theories and guides. The point of the sword isn't the sword. It's the quest to find them. The coins are also placed in a way they reference the numerous theories on possible positions of never implemented colossi and similar.
Its not the sword, its the search. It's about seeing those hidden doors open and walking down the stairs and seeing the sword and witnessing the culmination of the stories finally being given light and merit by the devs.
That is what it's about.

I'm just gonna comment on the SOTC entry, I kinda agree and disagree about the sword being bragging rights. The sword has an amazing back story and it is the reward for years of looking into a rumour in the original game (similar to Big foot in GTA: SA. I highly recommend watching Jacob Geller's video The Decade-Long Quest For Shadow of the Colossus Last Secret because I know I wont do it justice by telling the story behind. Blue Point made a reward for all those players back in the day who through all the effort for just looking into some rumour and got nothing out of it. Great Video, keep up the good work.

Didn t finish but I bet ff12 is gona be on here. That one weapon that spawns in an INVISIBLE chest that spawns on the airship(the chest ain t always there either, it s insanely rare too. And the WEAPON is even RARER to be in the chest. Even using exploits it could likely take HOURS. I think there may be a more reliable exploit? Regardless, it was made so rare since it legitimately breaks the game. By far highest damage I remember. Plus it s a bow. Highest rate of fire AND longest range too. So you could legitimately have your character run around and pepper things with auto attacks till it died.

Hello! I am actually playing Final Fantasy XI as I am watching this and during the list I said aloud Why do we never see anyone put the Kraken Club on these lists? and then you go and mention FFXI as number 1, yet you showed the relic sword. I know people with those and can they be build rather easily these days. I have personally been hit with the Knights of Round weapon skill in PVP. So keep in mind, love the video, just a little confused.
EDIT: In FFXI there are lottery drawing with potential prizes being a weapon. That would be the rarest of the rare. The event is called Mog Bonaza.

There's one in DQ 9, there's a sword called the rusty sword, if you have 9 glass frit and a piece of orichalcum you can craft Erdrick's sword, it's pretty damn good as far as raw damage goes, however, the rusty sword can only be acquired in the realm of the mighty at the end of the main game, and you can sell it, losing out on, I think, the strongest non 'DLC' weapons, since you can only re-acquire the rusty sword using DQVC, or nowadays, hacking the save using a PC, it's easy to get rid of it since it has piss damage compared to weapons you get around that time.

Death's Web is why I ended up quitting Diablo 2R. Spent a month grinding for it in various methods, and realized that I was never going to get any of the equipment I wanted in that game. Been playing Diablo 2 since it released 2 decades ago, and never got anything remotely rare. The droprates in that game are such garbage. You could literally beat the game on all difficulties with all characters 10 times, and still not get a noteworthy item. And even if you did, what's the point when you've already beaten the game dozens of times?

well in Black Desert Online, I hit two pens one on 4. 26% chance and other 5. 16% chance on the same day + a bunch of tets xD and few days later I awoke a Dream Horse on 1st attempt which is 1% chance, i also snagged a vell's conc magic (1% chance) on same day I got the pens also which was my 2nd, and bout 6 months later i tapped another dream horse, but yeah no more pens inbetween then and when i quit for now. again xD, i wish i bought a lotto ticket to that day now tho xD

I managed to get the alien tattoo in GTA Online which seems kind of rare. Resident Evil Revelations 2 has a raid mode where all of the 6 slot level 100 weapons are rare. That killed it for me knowing that no matter how much I grind, the only way to get them all in my lifetime would require save file mods. Knowing that nothing was done to fix a game that old that is still supported and has online events, I probably would skip out on any future Revelations games.

If you do a part 2 you should mention the Cobra Sniper from Borderlands 2. There is only 1 place to get it in the burnout, and in order to get it the ads you kill must first role a rare weapon, that rare weapon must role as a sniper, that sniper must role as a torgue sniper that torgue sniper then must role with the Cobra barrel that makes it the unique. All in all has about a 0. 88%. I don't have one dispite farming for over a year. (I gave up)

For me, the adamant armor from Final Fantasy 2/4. To get it, you need to trade in the pink tail. To get the pink tail you had to fight the pink puff. If I remember the pink puff only appeared in one room at the end of the game. It had a 1/64 appearance rate and a 1/64 drop rate. On the SNES bank in the 90s I farmed them trying to get it. I gave up after my 128th run in with them. So I never saw that damn pink tail.

played ragnarok online, rare item is cards, 0. 01% of falling from monster, any monster, including bosses (MVP), but when you add there is supposed hundreds of players killing monster non stop, it is not that rare, except MVP are one for the server and most have a time before respawn, in hours or even days, making it more rare than the drops from D2 that follow the worldwide is trying to dropp it all the time.

Gameranx has a great dynamic with Jake and Falcon. Personally, I love Falcon's demeanor and how he slurs his speech ever so slightly at times, giving off a sort of I don't care attitude while still conveying passion for what he's talking about and remaining informative on the subject. Jake's cool too, he just needs to learn how to pronounce forward. Other than that, great dynamic going on, Gameranx lol.
