I'm carefully optimistic about this game. I am however worried about the difficulty. Sword and Shield were ridiculously easy, and didn't require any strategy or skill whatsoever (I'm not asking for a super difficult game, but there should be SOME challenge to it.
And while I haven't played any other recent mainline pokemon games (except Arceus, that I loved, I have heard this has been a trend with the newer games. I will therefore probably wait with buying this, and see what the reviews says.

I'd like to get back into a Pokemon game, but the overall design looks so childish for both the pokemon and playable characters than ever before.
I really hope Pokemon one day explores the idea of playing as a late-year teenager or young adult.
I'm sure someone will bring up the argument of it's a childern's game, ok and there is also an entire of at least 2 generation of people that grew up with Pokemon since the start that they can tap into if they want to make even more.

Been playing Pokemon since Red, will continue to play until I am unable to.
I m looking forward to the mainline games looking like New Snap did for now but honestly I think they need to choose a new art style, I m not really sure what you d call what they have but there are videos out there that offer some amazing alternatives which would stop people from always going on about the graphics and would cement better animations and the like!

I'm gonna be curious if a ditto is gonna be in the game. Because for Sword and Shield. I would get a ditto. Make 2 or 3 copies of the starter I had to get the other 2 starters by trading. As for the legendaries. I needed to play the same game again to get the legendary, use the pokemon home thing and bring that legendary to my game, and trade it for the other exclusive. I'm curious how this will go. Cause I want all 3 starters.

it sucks, but I had to admit back in Sun&Moon that these games are no longer for me. I was 6 when the first games came out. Now as an adult it seems like these games come across as incredibly lack-luster, but alas Nintendo can crank out the bare minimum and Im sure it'll still bring joy to millions of children across the globe (like pokemon Go lol. I hope kids continue to receive as much joy as I use to

I am surprised about the pricing in the States. Here in New Zealand it is about 10 cheaper to get the dual pack than get them individually. If you don't preorder it. 99. 99 each vs 189. 99. If you preorder though it is cheaper to get them individually since all three are discounted for preorder. For some reason individually they are discounted 20 and the dual pack is just discounted 10.

The last few years, gamefreak has just been the definition of neat concept, poor execution. They've got some interesting ideas and great new pokemon designs, but good lord it seems like they don't know how to make an actual vidya game for the Switch. Why does all the gameplay chug so much and why do the environments look like that? Gahahahahaaaaaa

Still has terrrible art style. Still has appallingly nauseating alisaing. Will still be a tiny world. Will still be a sparse boring world. Breath of the Wild was overrated and had a lot of problems but looked 10x better than Pokemon and had a map 50x bigger. What are Gamefreak doing? They're just phoning it in and scamming us out of money.

Doesnt really look like they've done much to improve the empty looking open world environment, which is disappointing considering it was one of the biggest criticisms of Arceus. Personally it feels like they're concentrating on the wrong things. The majority of the changes being story based, rather than actual game improvements.

Its cool they want to do new things with pokemon and all but i just hope it doesnt lose itself in the process. Because to be honest Arceus didnt really feel like a pokemon game it didnt hardly have any battles, no gyms, no mystery when you run into a pokemon. All that stuff is a huge part of pokemon.

How come this game is made by such a big company with billions of dollars behind it and looks so barren, empty and poorly optimized and then you have games like xenoblade chronicles 3 that are full of life and amazing landscapes and runs really well on the same hardware

I'm disappointed that yet again they are making trading vital for getting all the pokemon, especially considering the switch demands you pay for the privilege of playing with friends so good luck to anyone who has bad internet or is poor, you can't get all the pokemon.

I doubt it'll be flawlessly open world. Most likely when you enter towns it will separate the open world aspect a bit. But that's not a knock on the game, I just don't believe the switch can handle a pokemon game being open world. But I'll gladly be wrong.

Yeah, the path of legends doesn't so fun. Definitely sounds like a glorified side quests. The team rocket battles at least sound like it has story elements to it but an herbal fetch quest around the continent sounds like completionist bait
