10 WEIRD Gaming Stories of October 2022 Glen: The vibrating chair is a technology that is already being put to good use by music producers, for example the Sub Pac, which received 4 star reviews in the guardian and music radar -- such devices allow producers to sense what music will sound like in a nightclub (without having to have a nightclub soundsystem. I would love it if this technology could be harnessed to enhance gaming experiences, and I don't think the idea is particularly weird! (Though I'm always happy to see people talking about ideas that I like.

CD Projekt trying to do the same thing again with cyberpunk just like they did with Reevs. add a 'name' to it to get more 'hype' and release a big steamer. but we got your money already so. enjoy the next 2 years.
Adding Sasha Grey into this 'expansion' says it all tbh. a price tag on the expansion with another pile of bugs and glitches that'll take em another year plus.
Oh and please stop with the pretending that you found it 'weird' that there was 'controversy'. they hired a twitch streamer/actress who JUST HAPPENED to be an ex porn star.
I've no issue with her at all, hope she got paid well for her part etc. It's down to cd projekt up to their usual crap and releasing crap.

I think you are totally under selling the great things you can do with having smells in games. I imagine a survival game or something where you are out in the forest smelling the pine trees, or by the sea and smelling the sea salt. There's a lot of immersion that smells can add. Yeah some games it would probably be terrible for but no one says it has to be in every game lol
If you have never got the chance to. go to Disney and go on Soarin. it's a mind blowing experience (tho I think now is changed to something like Avatar, but it used to have you for over orange orchards and you'd smell the oranges. it was amazing and I think that would be great in some games)

#8 and #9, what the heck Falcon. That s really cool technology here. this is just the beginning of what this industry could look like moving forward - this is just the beginning. The fact they re able to add in smells is really awesome.
Also, Sasha Grey moved into regular acting now. She doesn t do adult films anymore, nobody should be flipping out about her starring in Cyperpunk because of her past anyways. It s 2022.
Just being a negative Nancy today aren t we?

Vibrating chairs are a real thing in the music industry, specifically drum stools. Usually set up with just the kick drum signal feeding it. You perceive the sensation as part of a big powerful sound rather than motion. It means you don't have to crank up the monitor volume so high to get good feedback on your playing, which can avoid a load of sound issues: )

God, could you see the ghouls in Fallout 4. Game lore states that they smell like a rotting corpse. Bethesda or the modding community would need to come out with a vomit mod as part of your interaction with them. Or any game with a wet King Kong. You know how bad a wet, dirty dog smells. How about 50 feet of wet gorilla?

Nice to see SCPs getting game attention. Didn't realize there was an infinite Ikea game until this. It is an interesting idea to expound upon. The stink I think is a company's CYA for the modern era. It's a bit silly, but that's the way of it sometimes. Hopefully the judges will look at it and find it silly as well.

I can see the smell thing taking off for specific genres of games for instance it would definitely add to the immersion if it smelled like burning petrol and tires for racing game. I don't know how many people in your household would be okay with that smell permeating through the house though

I have a bass shaker on my sim rig that made a huge difference in the immersion IMO. My amp that powers it kicked out one time while playing and the sim immediately felt less real. Cant say I would want that for everything I play but for sure it does make a LARGE difference in some cases.

These weird gaming chairs would bug me.
I sit in a 22-year-old. 35 office chair with the arms removed as my gaming (and work) chair. The seat is barely cushioned anymore, the back has a lot of wear and tear damage, and I still sit in it 10-15 hours a day because it is so comfortable.

A democratic media gives us hope. It chronicles the movements and organizations that are making history today. When people hear their neighbors given a voice, see their struggles in what they watch and read, spirits are lifted. People feel like they can make a difference.

2: 30 - True, but think HOW many times in multiplayer somebody's shot you in the ass with a 40mm grenade?
Or the sensation of your dying body being depressed into the ground as xXxB00TY_SL4YERxXx Teabags your corpse in Blood Gulch?
Exactly, there's a need for vibrating chairs! lmao

Sasha is pretty talented outside of porn so I'm not surprised she's in a game good for her. But my question is why are they paying celebs to be in their game instead of making better content, the game is the definition of meh and they think putting celebs in the game is gonna fix that.

I don't really see how a gaming chair with haptic feed back or rumble or whatever you want to call it is weird. Doesn't sound much different than the controller's doing it. The adult star being a dj is definitely a weird one though, I didn't know she was known for anything else.

I am actually pretty interested in the details of the smell thing. Of course it is weird, but it is one of the senses required for the deep immersion in the digital world so many futuristic settings have. Plus it could be applied to more than just games. Food Network anyone?
